Cafe 4

Best coffee shop to spend time at in the Castro Valley/Hayward area. The coffee is good, and the staff is always friendly. However, the best thing about this place is how much space they have for sitting down and spending time there. It's the perfect place to work or study from. The Internet is quite fast, and there's plenty of plugs. The tables and chairs are comfortable, and in general it is quiet. It's in a church, but it's very welcoming to everyone. Nobody ever tried to "convert" me in 3 years. The only negative point is the price, what they have been increasing lately. At this point I'm paying more than $7 for a mocha. Also the food options are very limited apart from pastries. Plan to bring you lunch if you're gonna spend the day there

The parking lot is almost full when I arrived this morning. This is most likely due to a conference event that runs from Monday to Wednesday this week.

I decided to come back here again and the seats are mostly taken as usual. Really big and good place for working, studying, relaxing, hanging out, and having meetings!

There were no croissants at that time except for Ham & Cheese. When I got Iced Coffee, they served it with a couple of huge cubes inside haha

This place doesn’t disappoint!!! The working crews were all kind and friendly. Very comfortable outdoor and indoor seating. Wide selection of drinks and treats. My cappuccino here is perfect every time. I would highly recommend Cafe 4 Coffee! Also, check out their books 📚 section :)

I love the place. My husband introduced me to this place when he was reviewing. It's very spacious, cozy and perfect for studies. Like everyone do their stuffs respectfully. See photos for references. I love their matcha latte if your into hot drink and chocolate for iced (kid-friendly).
Can't say anything bad. I really like it. They also have wifi for public.

A friend recommended it, and I loved it.
I normally don't drink verve coffee, which they serve here. It's too strong for me, but these people are masters.
The place I'd affiliated with a multi church... Look like one too... With an amazing view on top of a hill.
Quick caveats, they close at 3:30, and when the service let's out everybody gets in line; but the people behind the tiny counter are reeeeally good.

The best and most beautiful cafe i’ve ever been to - tall ceilings, great views, lots of natural light, house made almond milk and so much space to get some work done or sit with a friend! Forever grateful that I found this spot!!

Cafe 4 is so far the most pleasant cafe ive been to in the past. I found myself super energetic and motivated when I'm here, would get a LOT of work done everytime I come. Highly recommended for students who live in this area.

Part of the 3 Crosses Church but open to the public. Very nice café with plenty of space to hang out for a while.

I loved the vastness of the space and a library like feeling with a lot of seating options and amazing natural light comings through 20 feet tall windows. It’s inspiring and refreshing!

Food and drinks are consistently fresh, delicious, high quality, and creative. I've tried and enjoyed their teas, chai, spritzers, pastries, and sandwiches and been happy with all.

Atmosphere is really where Cafe4 shines. The large church lobby hosting this coffee shop can seat around 100 people. There's seating for everyone: cozy nooks for studying, large tables for groups, tall and short, bar stools, alcoves, indoor and outdoor options, etc. Soft tunes playing are classy: jazz, soft rock, low fi mixes. Everything is kept clean and accessible. Never a shortage on easy parking too.

Service is exceptional. The Cafe4 staff are friendly, diverse, approachable, and knowledgeable about their craft. It's laid back but professional, and many go out of their way to remember customer's names/drinks. Many "regulars" prove plenty of people enjoy working remotely here, yet I've never had trouble finding a seat.

Tips are worth it: the prices seem fair and the quality is great.

It's been a long time since I've been at Cafe 4 in Castro Valley. I missed it! It uses the very large, open entry to a local church, and there are views of the bay if you sit outside. Plus, they use @vervecoffee, which is one of my faves. I can rarely say no to an orange mocha. 🍊

The view from here is really pretty, and oddly relaxing even though it's of the 580 freeway. I love the space with the high ceilings and window panels. It is a beautiful open area with a lot of spaced out seating. The coffee was also very good. I had the nitro cold brew and it was so smooth, and perfectly stong. I also had the iced sweet latte which was very creamy. They also have coffee ice cubes which I thought was so simple but cleaver. Instead of watering it down, it made it a bit stronger, but not bitter. Also a great place to study, but as of 10/10/17, their restroom is under construction, so they do have a portable restroom (like a trailer) and port-o-potties.

the environment is quite nice. its cavernous space, with lots of different seating options, and few with power outlets. coffee is pretty good. you can get usual coffe shop treats like crossaints....

Line up on Sunday. Lots of upbeat music and people. Often treats in the courtyard after Sunday services. Free wifi

This is a Castro Valley gem! Great views outside and super spacious inside. You'll be able to find a cozy spot for work or just catching up with a friend. They have a small selection of items for lunch. There are pastries and a great coffee menu, too. Avoid the chains and try this spot for good coffee the next time your in Castro Valley.

It would be great if cafe 4 served food, but other than that this place has the best artisan coffee! ☕ They serve Verve beans, they have mastered the art of latte art and work well together. Apparent most if not all the staff are involved in the church and therefore are united on the common mission to serve the community. The ambiance is probably one of the best parts, too. The tall ceilings give it a very upscale feel with beautiful wall art of various nature scenes. Highly recommend this cafe for any searching for a great cafe with great coffee and great people.

I met Pastor Danny Strange a couple years ago at an interfaith lunch. He told me about the cafe. Instead of my usual Starbucks work session, today I decided to give the 3Crosses Cafe a try. I am an American-Muslim and from the moment I walked in I felt so welcomed. I love the positive vibe here. This is a wonderful space for good coffee, creativity and fellowship.

I went to work there with a friend, wonderful place to do work. Atmosphere is great and the prices are very reasonable and the drinks are great. The decor is wonderful and a good mix of cozy and formal, great for working or hanging out.

The place is huge, very clean, well organized, and staffs are very helpful. I love the view, and there are tables outside so that I can sit with my dogs. I do feel very safe using my laptop or other electronics there.
