Doug's Place

I have been going to Doug's for years, they treat you like family here. Alway's very nice & welcoming. The atmosphere is nice. This was my first time seeing curly fries on the menu, they were delicious.

Nice brunch place. Lots of food options. loved hash brown. Hot chocolate good too. French toast presentation was good and it was tasting good too. Go early it gets busy no reservations as far as i know. You need to stand in line to get the table. Service was fast got a big table for 6 people.

The first stop after a flight is always food for me. Doug’s Place was definitely the place to be. Their specialty is Omelettes but my preference was Corned Beef Hash, eggs, hash browns and rye toast. Everything including the French Toast and Turkey Bacon were all Delish! The prices are amazing for the quality and food portions. The plates are definitely shareable. The crowd was diverse, the location was great, the service was good and most importantly the food was awesome!

And then we'll go to Doug's Place and get the chicken sandwich he tells me.
Well, I was all in for that! I've heard of Doug's Place.. even up in Napa, and the chicken sandwich they put out is Bay Area Famous! I had come down to Castro Valley to give my old pal Ray DéAter a Spindly Pinwheel because I had an extra and a set Hogurts Bricklebackers for his boys.
But, it was that chicken sandwich that was all I could think about...and I'll tell you what...it was Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆

Doug's is the place to go for delicious omelettes, with generous portions and friendly service. I recommend the crispy hash browns as the potato selection.

This diner has been around for longer than I've been around and their food is the bee's knees! Parking can be a bit tight on this lot so secure the first one you see 😆

There is nothing more nostalgic that having Sunday brunch with the family. Doug’s place reminded me of my childhood, a place where my mom and dad would takes us for some delicious American breakfast. Doug’s place is definitely one of the best breakfast spots in Castro Valley.

The Chicken fried Steak (aka country fried steak) will always be my favorite American breakfast. BUT I highly recommend you tried their famous Chocha French Toast - it’s delicious!

If you’re not a fan of breakfast, then you ought to get some of their Doug's Club Sandwich with some mixed fruits. It was my first time having a club sandwich with alfalfa sprouts, it was delicious and not greasy at all. YUM!

Was in town for the weekend and we had breakfast here. I had the french toast, eggs and bacon. Great bacon, meaty! Large portions and reasonably priced $$.
The ambiance is great with a nice old school feel.
The service was good as well, just the right amount of attentiveness.

My new favorite breakfast spot in the CV area. Very clean inside and they also have about 5-6 tables outside. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive.

I ordered the Chantum which is an omelette made with Bacon, Mushrooms, Tomatoes & American cheese, served with potatoes and sourdough bread.

My new favorite omelette! It was so tasty and filling. I don't usually order potatoes but these were great.

I stopped by at 8:30am on a Saturday morning and it was packed so you might want to get here early.

I frequently come to this place and do Uber eats a lot since I’m not able to go. The food is really good ,especially the pricing and portions. usually I’ll go for the steak and eggs but sometimes I’ll have the corned beef and hash or a light breakfast. Anyone nearby I would definitely recommend this place if you have not tried it you will not be disappointed, thank you.

Everything was PERFECT! everyone was super nice and the food was bomb. I'm such a picky eater but this was so good I had no complaints😋😋

This is a classic breakfast place with a casual family atmosphere. They have all of the traditional breakfast place dishes and it tends to be a regulars sort of place because of how friendly the staff are and how delicious the food is. Any time I am in Castro Valley around breakfast time I will go to this restaurant without a second thought. My wife and I have dined here numerous times and we have never been disappointed.

Great food with excellent services. Owner was working hard and greeting
customers at the same time. Very friendly place, 100% satisfied.

Food is always so tasty when we go there. Been coming there for years. I live in Washington, so when we come to the Bay Area we always stop in for breakfast 😋 highly recommend them! They have been there since 1978! All I need to say about that 😁

One of my all time favorite places to eat. Me and my grandma used to eat there every week. So when I was back in town I had to take my kids to try it.
Great food Big portions good vibes and great staff. This is not a gourmet place so disregard some of the lower ratings complaining about the food not being fancy. If you have never eaten here I highly recommend getting trying Doug’s.

Doug’s Place is the quintessential breakfast spot for Castro Valley locals and travelers alike. A morning person’s dream destination smothered in caramelized onions! My experience spans more than three decades of frequent breakfasts making Doug’s a tradition for me, my family and friends. Good food, great nostalgic atmosphere.

Another good visit to Doug's Place. My wife had the French toast and I had corned beef hash. As always the portion size was great and the hash was tasty. Definitely recommend.
