Old Havana Cafe

This place is delicious and is truly authentic Cuban cuisine! I moved from Miami a few years ago and this place reminds me of home. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I have ZERO complaints. The empanadas are my favorite and I can’t wait to go again and finish trying the whole menu! The owners are wonderful too! Very welcoming and friendly :)

Just ordered 3 sandwiches for the first time and we were very pleased. They were amazing! I got the Chick with Cuban sauce on the side and my husband and son ordered the Cuban steak. Not one single complaint. The bread was soft and fresh, the sandwiches were flavorful, and the Cuban sauce has just enough heat.
We will definitely be regular customers. Delicious!

First time trying this place, but definitely not the last! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and the bread is phenomenal! If you're into fancy and expensive, this ain't for you. If you want good food, at a good price, with friendly service, you gotta give it a try!

This is absolutely the best food the little town of Hartselle has to offer. There is nothing bad on their menu. You will not find better owners. They are the nicest people.

Totally worth driving more than 40 minutes from Huntsville!
I got cuban sandwich, beef empanadas, and guava and cheese empanada for a dessert and everything was excellent.

Authentic Cuban sandwich like we grew up on in Florida. Cafe Cubano best coffee ever!! Empanadas that are large and delicious! Croquetas are tasty little treats. Trying the Piggy sandwich today . Try this place for sure. We are at three times this week!! ❤

A true Cuban café. They have a food truck, as well as a place to get takeout. The owners are always so courteous and friendly, and have made things especially for us with a gluten-free diet. The food is awesome.

Me and my dad came and got “The Cuban” and the “Pan Con Biste” and they were both amazing but I think the Pan con Bisté took the cake!! I can’t wait to go back and try other items especially their desserts. The owners seemed very nice as well!!

We have heard a lot of great things about this place so decided to give it a try tonight. Wow, so good! We both had steak sandwich and empanada. The bread on the sandwich was delicious. We stopped in to order and it was pretty quick. The owners literally made our night. They are the kindest, most genuine people and it was a pleasure getting to talk to them. We will definitely be back to try the Cuban sandwich.

Coffee: So nice to find quality Cuban coffee, Cafe bustelo in a good quality espresso machine. My wife had a version with sugar and milk, I had mine black and bitter. Solid!

Beef Empanadas: This is a must order! Big, fat, stuffed with a blend of seasoned ground beef (looked like some onions and peppers in the meat). The dough was crispy on the outside, almost flakey but just quality empanada dough. It held together while eating it, and I added hot sauce which makes it perfect for me.

I also ordered one of the specials which I'll eat for breakfast. You can easily reheat these in an air fryer and they'll probably taste just as good.

Piggy Sandwich: This will be a regular sandwich for me, it hit all the right buttons. The seasoned pork really stands out, lots of flavor the meat was tender and juicy and mixed really well with the caramelized onions. I added pickles and they really tied the whole thing together. Think Cuban but better because it has all the flavors but no ham (I've personally never been a fan of hot ham).

Excellent Cuban sandwich and great service! You can call in your order, but I opted to go inside this evening and order in person. He said it would be about 10 minutes for my sandwich--not even close. I think it was ready in 2 or 3 minutes. You can't get fast food in this town that quick! And it was made correctly (also hard to find in Hartselle). Only complaint is they were sold out of another item I wanted to try. Be prepared to take out as there are no tables to dine in. I'll be back! Love supporting local small businesses like this.

Our first time trying Old Havana and definitely won’t be our last! The food is TAKE OUT ONLY and everything is made on site, so order ahead for quicker pick up. The steak sandwich and empanadas (beef, ham and cheese, and guava with cream cheese) were very tasty! The flan was exquisite—so silky smooth and not overly sweet. You can taste the quality ingredients and love put into this made from scratch Cuban food.

Always so happy with the food. And the people are amazing.
