We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay while in Maui. Our unit had all we needed including beach chairs and an ice chest. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for the four of us to spread out. Honua Kai’s grounds were beautifully maintained and clean beach towels were available to use daily. I just wish we could have stayed even longer. We will be back!

Paradise is all that comes to mind when I think of my stay at the Whaler unit 1224! The booking was a breeze and the host was quick to respond to any questions as well as very accommodating. The unit itself is gorgeous and well appointed with anything needed for cooking should you decide you wish to dine in. We chose to eat out each and every day as it is most conveniently located on one of the nicest beaches in all of the West side of Maui if not all of Maui. It is busy, but the busy is why I was there. If shopping is your heart's delight, it is next to the Whalers Village where there are many great stores to shop at, including an ABC Store for buying any supplies and snacks and alcohol. There is even a shortcut gate from the Whaler to the Whaler's village so you can get to the stores faster and back to your Whaler 1224 even faster. The wrap around lanai is definitely the highlight of the unit as you get 180 degrees of ocean and green mountains, which is quite special when you are sitting there in the morning or the evening. The unit is very spacious and can easily sleep 1 to 4 persons without any trouble. This is very centrally located just south of Black Rock and you can easily walk to any number of restaurants and bars including the new Maui Brewing, Monkey Pods among many others. There are no shortage of attraction right outside your front door including parasailing, sunset cruises, snorkeling or just plain sitting on the beach and enjoying all that Maui is about. Parking is a breeze and we didn't bother with the indoor parking garage and rather, settled for the outside lot which was quite easy in/out. Check-in was very easy. I will definitely be looking to stay at Whaler 1224 the next time I am in Maui.

Stayed at two Honua Kai condos for 9 nights booking through Maui Resort Rentals. Was a fantastic experience. The condos were clean and well maintained. The amenities supplied were greatly appreciated such as beach chairs, beach wagon, and kitchen, bathroom and laundry supplies. Guest service was prompt and courteous. Had a wonderful vacation with family (13 of us). Would highly recommend them!

We had a great experience. We traveled with our nanny and son. The three bedroom was perfect for privacy and sound. The curtains were blackout and they help coordinate a full-size crib and high chair delivery to be in the room when we arrived.

The glass on the balcony was secure for our little one to be on the deck and enjoy the view. Kitchen supplies were basic. If you love to cook as we do the pans, knifes (dull) were all of lower quality and did not match the premium kitchen or residence. The deck doors open but screens are locked for guest use. It was only an issue at night when bugs could fly in while having dinner and enjoying the ocean breeze. Rugs seemed new for toddler crawling, beds were very comfortable, pillows basic (missing pillow protectors which we prefer on rentals), sheets clean and hotel quality. TVs in every room and so many channels you could get lost but you’re in Hawaii and the view was amazing from the residence so no need for TV. It overlooks the main pool area but was far enough away to be quiet during nap times.

Overall an outstanding stay and experience for a well travelled family. We will be back.

Maui Resorts and the Honua Kai were terrific!! I would recommend this resort to anyone, especially if you have kids (ours are 10, 13, and 15). We debated staying at another property with closer proximity to Whaler’s Village, but after arriving we quickly realized we made the right decision staying at Honua Kai.

First off, the room was beautiful. We had ample space for 5 people. The decor was updated and very clean. The views from the lanai were outstanding. Great views of the ocean and pools along with a lot of space for the whole family to hang out.

The pools were awesome. There were 4 pools and several hot tubs. The kids loved the water slide, the water falls, and the lazy river. They also loved night swimming and making friends with all of the other kids their age that were also night swimming. In addition, Duke’s restaurant was great. They offered poolside service during the day, and a great Hawaiian vibe with live music for dinner.

The beach was beautiful! A little narrower than points south along Kaanapali, but enough sand to relax and enjoy terrific views. Snorkeling there was great. I had the opportunity to swim with a giant sea turtle and also saw a moray eel along with a number of other tropical fish.

The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The grounds were beautifully kept, and the entire hotel was clean and up to date. We also loved Whaler’s general store. Great coffee and frozen smoothies. Parking wasn’t bad, and the valet service was very affordable and we loved the valet guys.

Lastly, Maui Resorts offers free shuttle service. Our driver DJ was the best!! So friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual.

We have been home for one day and our entire family is already wishing we were back in Maui at the Honua Kai. Hopefully we get back soon!

Whaler 973 was beautiful! Plenty of space for a family of 4, a great view and close to everything! Great communication from the team at Maui Resort Rentals, and all staff that we spoke with at the Whaler were fantastic! This was our 2nd stay at the Whaler and I know we'll be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Honua Kai Hokulani! The condo was very lovely, offering breathtaking views of both the ocean and mountains. The sunsets were particularly stunning and made each evening special. The concierge staff were terrific, providing excellent service from parking to assisting us with our luggage. It was wonderful to arrive and find that the condo had all the necessities, from shampoo to dishwasher soap, ready for us. I highly recommend this place for a perfect vacation experience!

Booked room through Maui Resort Rentals at the Honua Kia Resort for a week. Booking was easy, email provided all the details needed for the stay. Even had to contact Maui Resort Rentals during my say with a few small questions and they were very responsive, professional and helpful. I will definitely use them again!!

Honua Kia Resort is a beautiful resort, with lots of pools and just steps from the beach. Our room had an ocean view to one side and mountains on the other. It was perfect. Great location!!

We had a wonderful time at Honua Kai. The whole family felt the resort exceeded our expectations for amenities and service. Our grandchildren were kept blissfully entertained playing in the pools, the ocean and the large grassy area in front of the units. Dukes provided a perfect spot to enjoy a special dinner. We will definitely be recommending Honua Kai to friends and hope to return some day.

The views from our room at Honua Kai were beautiful, the beds were comfortable, and the place was clean and well stocked. The pull out bed had a great comfortable mattress. The unit came with boogie boards, chairs and sand toys. The bathrooms were spacious and included small shampoo, conditioner, cream and soaps which is great for a late night arrival. We purchased toiletries for the week at the local super market. The resort has beautiful pools, a swimmable snorkeling and sandy beach and the best sunsets. Having Duke’s restaurant on property was delicious and convenient. Try the hula pie! We would definitely stay here again!

I would recommend Hokulani 402- this condo is beautiful and very well maintained. We had to call As a/c wasn’t working and the staff was extremely helpful. We have already booked for 2024!! Such a very great condo-
The only thing that I would comment is usually in condos there is some spices/condiments in one of the cupboard. None to speak of this time.

Our stay at Honua Kai Resort was wonderful. The view from 929 is just breathtaking. Maui Resort Rentals was easy to work with and quickly responded to all questions while booking even with the time difference. Our children loved the resort's amenities. We can't wait to book our next Maui vacation and will definitely book through Maui Resort Rentals and stay at Honua Kai again.

Incredible company with incredible people. Our stay was made amazing because of Zach and everyone else. They did everything possible to make our stay perfect and I appreciated the responsiveness when we needed them. First class service which we will remember along with the stay. Thank you team!!!

I would like to preface by saying how amazing the bell stand was by taking our luggage, our refrigerated goods from another condo we had moved out of, and allowing us to enjoy the property & pool prior to check in here. Maui Resort Rentals personnel was very responsive and communicated really well, check in/check out times were a little too early (10 AM check out) and late (5 PM check in) we were able to get in to our room a little after 4 PM, the rental agency itself was great!!! The units at Honua Kai are absolutely AMAZING, no doubt about it, but there are some minor updates that could be done. While the view is amazing, location perfect, pool was picture perfect, and condo unit size was large and very comfortable. There were certain MINOR things that could be improved upon (only constructive criticism, absolutely not complaining here) it would be to provide more blankets/pillows. Even though we are in Maui, some still like the weight of a blanket on them at night, whether warm/cold, but there was no additional bedding provided. There were sample sizes of shampoo/conditioner/lotion but no hand soap in bathrooms or the shower which we found odd, even during covid times. We were a party of a 6 in a 2 bd/2 ba unit and there was only 1 extra roll of toilet paper between the two bathrooms with adults and kids, it went fast. There were no extra paper towels provided, only a partial roll left at the sink. We tried to eat in and there was only 1 small saucepan and a large stockpot, but no medium size pans, lots of frying pans though. Limited utensils, one wooden spoon, 1 small set of plastic spatulas, serving spoon, 1 rubber spatula, not that it is major deal, but the unit could use some additional kitchenware/utensils. It was definitely geared more toward hotel-style guests and less toward condo guests/families with kids trying to eat in/save a buck. There were only really large plastic cups, no smaller plastic or melamine plates and cups. The major upgrade to our particular unit would be new TVs in each room. The guest room had a TV that would click and snap and make terrible noise then screech loudly and have to be turned off, unplugged and re-plugged in. It did this every 30 minutes to an hour if it was on. The remote for the TV in the main living area was really sticky and the buttons only worked part time, the kids had a hard time using the remote. TVs can be picked up pretty inexpensively these days, from Costco or Walmart. Not that we spent all of our days in, but in the evenings after a long day at the pool, beach, relaxing by catching up on news (ya right) or letting the kids unwind before bed was the only time used. The upside in the kitchen ware was the awesome VITAMIX BLENDER, milkshakes almost every night!!! Again, we very much appreciated and enjoyed our stay, what we noted above we adjusted to by simply buying paper plates, plastic recyclable cups, Clorox wipes, hand soap, etc. nothing noted was a deal breaker, it is only suggested. We loved the unit, the location, the service from all staff and in Maui, that's all that really truly matters!!! We thank you all for such a lovely time, we had so much fun. Honua Kai Konea is absolutely stunning. The view, the resort, Dukes, and the entire staff are the best. Strongly recommend!!! Maui Resort Rental was the best. The shuttle and the staff was a great added perk. Will certainly be back!

We absolutely loved our experience with Maui Resort Rentals. The villa was exactly as pictured and the location at Honua Kai was perfection. Minutes to the pool and the beach access. Ania Gourmet Cafe in the lobby area was the best for healthy fare, smoothies and cold-pressed juices. Grounds were beautifully maintained and it was so nice to have our own beach chairs and cooler to take on a day trip. We left a boogie board behind for the next guest too. We had one issue with the washer drainage but it was remedied within a matter of hours, very professional. We are so very happy and can’t wait to come back and rent with MRR again. I found this company when looking at reviews for Honua Kai. Was about to book through Costco when I realized this resort has mixed reviews and I began to discover that your experience can vary greatly depending on who you book from. I kept reading people raving about Maui Resort rentals so I checked them out. We are very happy with our experience. Before we even reserved they answered multiple emails back and forth with info about different units very quickly. Once we booked they continued to email promptly with any questions we had leading up to our trip. Check in was easy. Room 320 Hokulani at Honua Kai was a nice size with everything we needed and a large balcony. The resort was nice and we enjoyed the pools and beach access. We made a few requests during our stay and they brought the items we needed right away. We used the shuttle a few times and Jordan was right on time and even stayed late one night waiting for us when our Luau show was delayed and late due to technical difficulties. Would highly recommend Maui Resort Rentals if you want a vacation free of stress and problems. Our first trip to Maui was a blast!
