Lorraine Shave Ice

Lorraine was so sweet and so fun with my children! We had a great time and tasty shaved ice. We got both the chocolate chip and the walnut banana bread loafs, very yummy! Perfect break on the north road.

This was one of the top things my family did on the island during our stay here. Lorraine is a local treasure! There are plenty of other shave ice spots all along the island…. But you will not get the hospitality, hilariously fun conversation, and true island feel anywhere else.
The drive to her spot is breathtaking to say the least… it’s ABSOLUTELY worth it!

Visiting Lorraine is a highlight of our Maui vacations. This is my second time purchasing Lorraine’s banana bread and spending time chatting with her — and it was such a delight (just like our first visit). Lorraine is so welcoming and fun to talk to — she is a great storyteller and loves talking with those who take time to visit her and her beautiful property. Her banana bread is baked fresh daily and is quite tasty, the same goes for her shaved ice options. We can’t wait to visit her in the future!

I recently tried the banana bread and shaved ice at Lorraine’s and it was absolutely delicious! The banana bread was perfectly moist and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was packed with real banana flavor and was the perfect treat for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

The shaved ice was also amazing. The ice was perfectly shaved and had a nice fluffy texture. The flavors were spot on and there were so many delicious options to choose from. I loved how refreshing and light it was, perfect for a hot summer day.

Overall, I highly recommend trying the banana bread and shaved ice at this place. You won't be disappointed! Five stars all the way.

They are an amazing couple who make great Banana Bread we got the last chocolate chip. Shaved ice was fantastic wild how lightweight it was. There is a sink in the back yard to rinse off and beautiful views! Thank you guys again Mikaela loved her shaved ice.

A total island experience.... Wonderful hole-in-the-wall find for the best shaved ice in Hawaii, delicious banana bread and a vista that's truly Hawaiian. Yes, the drive there can be tricky but worth the patience and care. Lorraine is the best part. Be sure to ask her about how she started the place and listen for the passion that goes in every cone.

My family was out exploring when we stumbled across Lorraine’s shaved ice. We all got shaved ice & shared banana bread before heading out for more exploring. Lorraine & her husband were so kind & funny! Lorraine even took us outside to show us some natural things on their property. Glad we stopped.

Lorraine and Guy are so sweet and fun to talk to. The banana bread was fresh from the oven, warm and delicious. We finished it very fast ;) the shaved ice was great and extra nice with the beautiful view from the garden. Definitely recommend stopping here 👌✨💯🤙

What a beautiful drive from Kaanapali to Kahakuloa! (be careful, the drive is one lane and shared by many. Be patient, have a sense of humor. Don’t lose your Aloha.)
Auntie Lorraine is awesome! Friendly warm has been a resident for many decades, and seems to love the visitors.!
She served some delicious shave ice along with quick wit and lovely stories.
She had delicious banana bread, as well as other goodies and merchandise. Be sure to buy out time to sit out back and enjoy the view from her property. She came out and sat with us and embodied the aloha spirit.

If you are brave enough to drive up to Kahului, you must visit Lorraine's to reward yourself with the view and shave ice + freshly baked banana breads. We had a wonderful time enjoying the treat and lovely little conversation with Lorraine.

After a bit of a scary drive up the road from Kahului this was a perfect place to stop for a bit, enjoy some delicious shaved ice, and take in the scenery. Lorraine is an absolute delight and we felt right at home. If you're braving this road definitely make a stop here!

A Maui must stop. It’s nice drive up farther from Lahaina, with one huge part towards the end(we stopped at lorraines) that you have to put your Mahalo good spirit on and watch for cars and look for the pull outs for others. 😳😝
My friend has been bringing family and friends out here for years. I got the most fantastic, decadent lily Koi pie I’ve ever tasted. Well I’ve never tasted it so what an incredible first.
We bought it for a gathering that was going to be in two days but it never made it there. She was right 🤣

Lorraine came out back and talked with us for a while as we ate our shaved ice, enjoyed the Gorgeous surroundings, & contemplated diving into the banana bread that we’d also bought.
She had the pie on ice for us for when we left & I already can’t wait to visit again.

Lorraine is one of the sweetest spirits I have ever met. Her stories are precious. We will be back to visit and support Lorraine.

I would definitely recommend!

My husband and I met Lorraine on our way to the road to Hana. She was so sweet! The bread was freshly made and was still warm. It was delicious! She sat down and chatted with us for a bit and taught us a few things about the local culture and even offered us fresh starfruit. I definitely recommend this location for banana bread. She also has pies (order ahead).

Shave ice is nice and light. We got li hing mui, mango, and guava.
Highlight was talking story with aunty Lorraine! Super friendly and genuinely wants to hear about you. We were the only ones there at the time. While we were in the backyard enjoying the shave ice and the view, she waited for us to finish so that she could say bye. If I ever found myself driving on Kahekili Hwy again, I'm visiting Lorraine!

Don't bother with any other banana bread stands; head straight to Lorainne's! Her banana bread is simply fantastic, and her roasted coconut chips are hands down the best thing I've ever tasted! Lorainne's husband, Guy, is equally delightful. Lorainne graciously spent nearly an hour with us, inviting us to sit in her yard and enjoy the breathtaking view of Kahakuloa Bay. She generously shared some of her life experiences with us and had us laughing with her fabulous sense of humor. Highly recommended!

We visited Lorraine's a few years ago. We were touring around the island and saw this place so we decided to stop. Boy, were we glad we did! Being Australian, we think that banana bread is an Aussie institution - you can't go any cafe without seeing this available on the menu for breakfasts. We were somewhat skeptical of the frozen chocolate coated banana bread treat. Honestly, I don't know why we don't do it here in Australia but this was amazing - totally delicious! A must try!

This is a must! Lorraine, is such a good person and made me feel great coming to her shop. The views are lovely and very Hawaii esq. She also picked out the shaved ice flavor and it was delicious. Don’t forget the Roasted Coconut, that was beyond amazing. Overall, thank you for such a great experience I think everyone should check this out when visiting Maui. The relaxed vibe and shaved ice at once is worth it.
