'Umalu

Beautiful atmosphere next to the beach, the bar staff is great. The food is good although I the fish and chips was heavily battered. The pretzels are a foot long and very good. Fish tacos were fresh and the ahi salad was fresh. There is a Hawaiian ice right next to Umalu. Staff was always quick to help and we enjoyed it very much.

Very good food and with gluten free option clearly marked. Resort style vibe with a dining area and bar. The fish we had was as thick as a steak and was excellent. Their blended drinks are also very, very good.

We spent a lot of time at the bar at Umalu while we were staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui. The bartenders (mostly Andy & Rob) were EXCEPTIONAL!!! They treated us like regulars after our first visit to the bar and made us feel like we were at home in paradise. The food was great (highly recommend the wood fired pizza - Thursday thru Monday only) and the bar is a GREAT place to meet other hotel guests as well! Highly recommend Umalu while staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui or even if you’re just on the island in the area! Tell Andy that Christian & Aly from Austin say Hi!!!

We were staying next door at the Hyatt Residence Club so made reservations for 7pm on a Monday. It was busy when we got there. We ordered a Mai Tai and pogmosa. Both were good. We ordered the chips and queso and pretzel for Appetizers. The pretzel was so good, soft and warm- good queso too. It was huge! I don't like Mustard but tried the Mustard dip anyway and it wasn't bad for someone who dislikes Mustard! We ordered the burger and bltta. Both were great. We ended up ordering take out the next night- the pretzel and chips and wood fried Margherita pizza. It was busy again but they told us 20 minutes so we walked along the beach for a bit then came back. Again, the pretzel was great. We didn't really care for the pizza, it was under cooked and didn't have much flavor.

Cool spot to stop for a drink throughout the day! We ended up getting dinner here and it wasn’t busy at all, we were able to snag a couple of bar stools. We ordered 2 pizzas (Garden & Palace) which were surprisingly awesome! A bit pricey, but certainly recommend if you like to hang at the bar! Quick service too!

Dann was fantastic as a server, with an amazing busboy. Food was served promptly and correctly. Dann checked in enough to be helpful but not too much to be annoying. Great beach location.

i got a recommendation from the waiter, salmon poké bowl and it blew my mind.
the salmon was fresh, the seasoning was on point, the sprinkle of spring onions were just like a cherry on top.
it was a perfect lunch for me.

We stayed at the Hyatt for our Honeymoon! We loved this spot for poolside eats and excellent drinks. We sat at the bar for our dining but you can grab a table for lunch/dinner. I wouldn’t say reservations are necessary but do what works for you.
Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We LOVED the Ahi sandwich and Mahi tacos!

The bar staff are bar none! Much props to Jocelyn, Andy , Austin and Rob . I also noticed that the manager was onsite often and often times would assist staff with anything that needed to be done (leading by example is rare these days) if you are in the area or staying at the Hyatt regency for sure make a point to come to Umalu!

We ordered Ahi Poke Bowl and Mochiko Chicken. Both came with steamed rice and tasted really good. Especially Mochiko chicken tasted like Korean Yangnyeom chicken so yummy>_< The amount of food wasn't much but enough for us to be full. (You should check in first at the desk before being seated)

Food was good, it was convenient since it was on the resort. I will say the giant pretzel is a great poolside snack!

We unfortunately chose a super windy night to dine in their outdoor seating area, but other than that, the food and service were both pretty awesome. The chocolate cake and the cheesecake were both amazing and I highly recommend saving some room for those two. I usually take pictures before eating, but we both arrived from a long drive back from Hana and were starving and ate everything once it was placed on our table. The pizza was good, but make sure you realize everything is at a resort price and is way higher than what you’d get outside the resort. We had a lot of food/beverage credit to use and this place definitely would make the credit stretch further than Japengo (which was also pretty good).

Delicious food. We liked our dishes. My Tuna salad was tasty. DH had shrimp with pasta. He enjoyed it.

So good and an awesome view. We ordered off the vegan menu. It's the whole reason we went to the restaurant. We got the hummus, soba noodle salad, and the vegan burger. It was all so fresh and so good. We had good service too. We'll be back next time we come to Maui!

I came from another hotel for the vibe and kept coming back each night because of how great of a host Candace is. She took care of us, remembered our names, and made it a very memorable experience each night. This location has good food but the drinks could be more potent for the price.

The food here left nothing to complain about. We especially enjoyed their pub pretzel appetizer (and came with a good amount of delicious dipping sauces!). I would recommend this place for a more casual meal at a more reasonable price than many other restaurants in Lahaina
