You want a small town make you feel at home restaurant look no further than Thurmont Kountry Kitchen! The staff were very warm and welcoming! My wife and I felt like we knew the people there all our lives. We had really good and a really fun time.

Lots of “sweeties” and “uh huh’s”.. quaint barn theme. I liked how small the chipped beef pieces were but was not a fan of the biscuits. The buttery toast was better. Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were yummy, and the home fries were perfectly browned.

Small town county restaurant...... We were heading home and we just happened to come across this place. We had a great lunch and were very happy we dropped in.
The staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. My wife is a celiac but they did not have a lot of choices for her. However the staff was helpful in getting the information for her on salad dressing so she could have a salad. They had some nice soups on the menu but didn't serve them until after 4 pm so I didn't get to try them. They have a lot of desserts there that are home made..... If you're in the area it's worth checking out....

Excellent little restaurant! The food is priced really well and is delicious! Some desserts are a little pricey but they are yummy! I had the Reuben and it was tasty! Oh and those little corn fritters, oh my!

This place is like sitting in someone's kitchen. Its very small and quaint. Nothing too fancy. The food was terrific. The prices were reasonable and the service was very personable. My favorite thing was my bean & bacon soup which was no doubt homemade and absolutely delicious. We definitely want to come back to try more things. The menu was huge. I had a chicken salad stuffed tomato too. Hubby had French onion soup and a Chesapeake burger.

So I've walked past the Kountry Kitchen several times and I always thought "this looks like a nice breakfast spot"....yesterday I decided to give them a try. Glad I did 😊
Had a HUGE meal (the Gateway Breakfast) and it did not disappoint. Waiter was on the ball too refilling coffee regularly. In and out in 45 minutes so relatively quick as well.
Highly recommend...I'll be back.

Made my way finally back up here for breakfast glad I did excellent had the big breakfast and I was stuffed.
They also had an assortment of fresh made cookies and cakes available for purchase as well glad I made the trip.

Ordered pork chops and they were just ok. Macaroni and cheese was good. Corn fritters were good. I ended up spending $90 including tip for pork chops, quesadillas, appetizer, soda, one drink, and cookies. I think that was very expensive for 2 people. Not sure if I will go back. Long waits for food. Very tight seating. Waitress told me it could take 45 mins for them to prepare food.

A Must Try for Country Cooking!
Based on previous reviews we knew this was the place to stop on our day trip to the Catoctin Mountain Park area and it sure was the right place to stop.
The Steak & Mozzarella Super wrap & onion rings were great and the service was just outstanding!
Definitely will return when in the area.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast while in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The scrapple was the best I've had in a LONG time, the home fries were excellent as well! We will stop again!

we went for brunch and it is easily some of the best brunch we’ve had in a while. we’re from Baltimore and this is better than anything we’ve had in the city. hole in the wall place with amazing coffee and food. the cheeseballs are good too. wish we lived closer so we could come all the time.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes for our Family Birthday Party. 6 yellow with vanilla frosting and 6 chocolate with peanut butter frosting. They were so moist and delicious and went perfectly with our homemade vanilla ice cream!

Lovely local restaurant with the friendliest and helpful staff. I had the breakfast club sandwich which was very tasty and hit the spot. This will be a new regular stop when we’re in the area.

In town for training, dined-in and loved it!

First of all, they were super nice, all their 'regulars' greeted each other and they warmly took orders over the phone.

You can tell this restaurant is the heartbeat, the local go-to spot. And there is a great reason, the food!

I had potato skins made just how I make them at home! All the cheesy goodness on top!! My crabcake was all crab and good. My scalloped potatoes, yes I got potatoes twice, lol. They will come in handy later this evening.

For take homes, I got the funnel cake fries- they are the right amount of sweet and a huge muffin for my morning.

I will definitely stop by the next time I return for training .

Good home cooking. Excellent homemade baked goods. I've only ever used the carry out option due to me being at work when I'm in town however I've never have had a bad meal. Also the service is quick and friendly, the kind you would expect from a small town restaurant. I'm definitely not the only one who enjoys this establishment either as they have been busy every time that I have been. During this time with the pandemic in play it is hard for local businesses to stay afloat but from what I've seen the Thurmont Kountry Kitchen has developed such a following with their loyal customers that they have been able to stay afloat by having a successful carryout business due to the fact that their patrons don't seem to mind weather they eat in or out of the restaurant. If your passing through Thurmont Maryland and your looking for a bite to eat they are definitely worth a try and definitely a place I would recommend.

New to Thurmont for the night, we arrived at 6pm on a Saturday for a good meal.
Place was packed!!
But I could see why...
GREAT food, HUGE selection, EXCELLENT price.
My friend and I have been traveling through seven states in the last 7 days and this is absolutely without a doubt the best small town home style American food we have had yet.
Every single one of the "Chain restaurants" have disappointed...

I recall coming here as a young woman. In 40 years, not much has changed. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you are with family. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The staff knows everyone, and goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. The owners are so kind, and are always doing wonderful things in the community. The food here is amazing! It’s definitely the gem of Thurmont!

Excellent lunch and small town friendliness. Brought a Key Lime Pie home and it ranked with those from Key West, Boca Grande and Captiva Island.

Drove an extra to revisit in Fall after last Summers yummy lunch. And it was worth the drive. Had the famous Broasted Chicken which has a crispy, crunchy well seasoned exterior with juicy chicken at each bite.

Instead of taking home a pie, ate their Peanut Butter Explosion cake and Caramel Apple Pie with ice cream. Both were fantastic..see the pictures for a view.

Second time my husband and I came in since we moved here a year ago! I don’t know why we don’t go here more often. Both times we’ve been, staff has been friendly, refills are quick, and the food is great! They had some amazing specials for St Patty’s weekend, but I just had to try the boasted chicken everyone raves about. Definitely worth the hype!

I drove by this place trying to find it. For what looks like a hole in the wall in someone's house is actual one of the better homestyle lunch ins I've eaten at. Order was spot on. Food was fantastic. Coming back.
