A friend and I stopped in while traveling. The place was busy for a 4:00 in the afternoon. The service was refreshing, friendly helpful and fast. excelled. Menu was huge. Tons of things to try. I loved my Mexican salad. So yummy. I added TRI to and it was a huge amount of meat. The avocado was perfectly ripe. My friend had the BLT and it was Huge and she said tasted great. We decided to try the bread pudding dessert and it was warm and so good, we added ice cream on top and well AMAZING! It was also large. The waitress was very attentive. We over tipped because all in all we were in and out of there in 45 minutes and back on the road. We both want to come back and bring our husbands.

Clean. Real food, real prices. Got the chicken stripes. They were hot, homemade and tasty.

The food was great and came out quickly. I taste good. The sourdough toast was really tasty perfectly buttered. Seva was really happy with the pancake was shaped like a Mickey Mouse and yeah, he seems to like this place more than the other breakfast spots in town so keep up the great work!

In a place with functionally no competition they really don't HAVE to make good food. But they do! They really make fantastic food here! I may need to make a special road trip back up to get my hands on one of their sandwiches again. DEFINITELY worth stopping. It's also right next to a surprisingly good motel, so this is a fantastic place to stop for the night!

And then this little helper dude I brought with me tells me about TJ's Roadhouse, ..says they put out the best steak in the lower 48! So I slapped him, right upside the head! And it's the last time I take GiIroy anywhere. I had to drop off a Gnarled Whipstickler Crank to the Seminiferus Club of the Sierra for their annual long shot derby here in Auburn. It's the first time they're hosting the event, it's normally held in Palm Springs, and their head guy, Sprae Alldover tells me new records are expected because of the thinner air. Then he tells me that TJ's Roadhouse is a great place to get a steak, so off I went. And let me tell you....The food was Spectacular!

Great little diner with plenty of breakfast and lunch / brunch items to choose from. They have a bar with beer and wine, champagne and mimosas too. This place won't disappoint on your trip through to the mountains. Friendly and helpful wait staff. We had the Hammy and Sammy, Bread pudding and Breakfast Cristo Sandwich. Definitely recommend all.

Crispy Spicy Chicken Salad was my favorite.
I should of took one to go, it was that delicious.
Chicken Sandwich and Chili Cheese Fries were amazing as well.
Over all experience was shocking GREAT.
Service was great and quick!!!

We came to Emigrant Gap for the day and stopped here on our way home for some food and to warm up in the blizzard. I can’t stress how IMPRESSED we were with their customer service, time management and AMAZING FOOD! We will be making this our traditional spot for our visits up the mountain for sure! Highly recommended to families with children also!

Amazing food! Loved all of our breakfast... and the lunch menu looked just as good. I can't wait to try a salad on my next visit!

Great little gem right off the freeway, we had the TJs original burger with bacon and cheddar cheese. It’s the Best !!

Sunday was pretty busy but we were able to squeeze in. Wide variety on the menu and portions were generous. I had the French toast with ham which turned out to be massive. The ham was thick cut and grilled. Kind of a hole in the wall, but very much worth the stop. Must try.

Stopped on my way to Truckee. Great casual country restaurant and bar serving breakfast until 2pm. Wife likes breakfast, I prefer lunch...both happy.

We had a great time, and the waitresses were awesome. They helped us find places we could stay cool during this heat wave. Thank you for the great experience.

Teriyaki Swiss mushroom burger on a house made onion roll. With pesto fries. And banana bread pudding with ice cream with caramel drizzle...umm delicious!! And the service was fantastic! My boyfriend and I were the last ones there at closing time and not once were we rushed out or treated like a nuisance. Excellent service and excellent food!

A great place right off the freeway, so no epic views, but a welcoming environment with friendly staff and great food. I haven't made it through the entire menu yet, but am working on it. All good so far!

Pretty good meal here for a large group on the way back from Tahoe. Big portions and affordable. Good quick service. Right off the highway, so it’s easily accessible. I got the Denver omelet and enjoyed it.

Excellant place!! Easy parking, clean restrooms, good pricing and a great atmosphere. The burgers were fabulous with tasty beef and fresh ingrediants. The kid pancakes were "Mickey" shaped and yummy. The kid quesidilla was fresh and kept my kid quiet until it was gone!! Hiedi, our waitress, was the perfect combination of fun and smiles with great service. Defiantly go here if you are near Colfax!!! 😃❤

Super friendly people and great food. Burger was fantastic. Big and meaty. Bacon was amazing with it and all cooked just right. I will definitely go back again soon. Like maybe next week. I like in and out but you got to have 3 double doubles to compare to this burger. Check it out.
