Great selection of bait and tackle the guys were even nice enough to give me a fishing spot to check out for the day definitely go check out this place if you're from out of town or in town and you need some fishing advice or just some really good bait or a new rod and reel they have everything you need down there make sure you check it out

If you're in the area and plan on fishing, you're wasting your time if you don't stop here first. Excellent experience both times I've gone in. Great selection and great service! And I tried 3 other shops first. This was 10x better than any of the others not naming names. Do you're self a favor and swing in here first.

Folks listen, I have two bait shops that I frequent in the Apollo Beach and Gibsonton area. I went to Ruskin and they couldn't help. I went to both of these other bait shops and they wouldn't help me. I went to two others in Gibsonton and Ruskin and they too said sorry can't help you. But when I went to Palmetto to launch recently, I remembered a Tampa Bay Fishing Channel advertisement and Todd reporting from the Palmetto Bait and Tackle. I've past this place a few times with it being only 3 blocks from the boat ramp. I stopped in and asked them for swing wings. Although they don't carry them, I was told hey I can special order them for you. Wow, I asked the others and no one was willing to do that, BUT at Palmetto Bait and Tackle they were willing to do this excitingly. And what a great place. Friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and they have everything you need for your time out on the water, things you will not find in other stores or bait shops. So stop in when you get some time and introduce yourselves, buy from them. If they don't have what you are looking for, what's impressive, they will work with you to acquire it if they are able. Great bait shop, staff will help novice anglers but also accommodates experts with the gear they need. Always super friendly, their shrimp are just great. Super lively shrimp that are kept alive properly makes a big difference. Also bought a 6000 Penn here and it was very fair price wise. 👍🏼👍🏼

This is a great bait shop. We visit Palmetto several times a year and the customer service is always great! They are very knowledgeable about equipment, bait, and where to fish. My son bought a shrimp aerator here, it has worked great. He frequently gets live shrimp too. The parking around back is very convenient too. Highly recommend!!

Great spot for live bait. They have always had what I am looking for and are very friendly. They wont short you on shrimp and will take care of you if all they have is smaller shrimp. Easy to park out back if you are pulling a boat which is nice since this is located in pretty much down town Palmetto.

This shop is great!!! Everyone there gave great tips on how to fish the area as I was on vacation and new to the area. I broke one of my rod tips as I arrived in the area and they had it fixed in one day. Good prices and great service, I highly recommend!!
