Port Hedland Visitor Centre

Staff were so accommodating by ensuring what I wanted was gift wrapped and ready to be picked up... especially on short notice prior to their closing time. Felt very valued and appreciated by the flexibility and understanding provided by the staff!

Great bunch of ladies, plenty of info & right in the centre of town, just up from the port area. The Mission of Seafarers harbour tour is very popular & we couldn't get on for 3 days. But the info centre do run a 45min video once a day, so that is definitely worth seeing.

Very helpful girls! We did 2 tours, listened to the Port story told by Julie. Went to the Tugboat water exhibition & stairway to the moon, sites around town etc. Definitely make it your first stop in town!!

The staff in the information centre were not only helpful, but full of local interest points. I got the feeling they loved their job and Port Hedland. Thank you for the places to visit!

What a fabulous Visitors Centre – one of the best we’ve seen in our travels over many years around the country and overseas. Greeted by the smiling and welcoming Sam who is a fantastic ambassador for Port Hedland. She described the town and its highlights with such enthusiasm, excitement and excellent knowledge of the area. Gave us a fabulous talk about the operation of the port and mining in general at one of the “Yarn with a Local” sessions, a wonderful initiative. Also told us about a “citizen scientist” Doris who gives a talk on the Reef and takes people out on the Reef at low tide to explain the various life forms out there just a short walk from the shore which was amazing. Also did the Art & Heritage trail enjoying the history and murals all over town. Enjoyed Staircase to the Moon and also beautiful Pretty Pool a quiet haven to relax. Port Hedland also has a very large free overflow camp at the racecourse providing 3 free nights which encouraged us to visit and stay. There’s a lot more to this town than mining and well worth a few extra days. Thank you Sam and Port Hedland Visitors centre

This Visitors Centre is one of the best we've been to. Maybe not the largest, but the staff are very knowledgeable easily answerd our questions, they also gave us tips on upcoming events during our stay. Don't miss the "local tales" on Friday's at 11.30!

Love visiting this place been there many times, just love their special guest speaker at 10.30am every Friday mornings. Different speaker each week talking about their life story living in the Pilbara. Very interesting.

Omg I was I was hanging for a coffee and I found the best coffee in the #pilbra region ... I wanted to go back for more .. and the lady was so friendly and the banter was funny as .. items were good prices and happy to share info that's not on the brochures.. we ended up buying stuff we didn't want ... good sales person ... they get you with their friendly nature .. and got her person experience with red dog also

They've been very friendly and helpfull. Have a Look on the Shipping-schedule next to the entrance, if you are interested in big ships.
