The Bookery

Tucked away on St. Andrew St. W is The Bookery - a wonderful used book store with a large collection of used books, Celtic jewelry, and other neat objects.

I spoke to the lady behind the counter once and she said that there are over 20,000 books in the store - and I believe it.

Everything is arranged in sections that are fun to browse and it feels like you're stepping into another world (or into a movie) as you do so.

Scattered about the store are various trinkets and treasures, including some interesting metaphysical wares that you might want to take home with you.

Over the years we have purchased books, some leather journals, and other fun decorations (like a sheet metal sculpture of a garden fairy silhouette).

We always love visiting this place and encourage anyone visiting (or driving through) Fergus to stop in and enjoy the ambience and selection.

This is my absolute favourite used book store. They have old books, rare books, and just normal used books. They also have gifts, decor, celtic items, and Outlander stuff.

Every time I go I find something I didn’t even realize I was looking for, and I always leave wishing I had bought that one item I put back. They also do psychic readings on occasion. I haven’t been there for that recently, but I have gone for a reading in the past and it was very accurate.

Visit on Sunday August 4, 2019. Great shop on the main street with a lovely eclectic Celtic vibe. Selection of odds 'n' end and bric-à-brac near the front which evolves into a proper book store as one moves through the store. Items of personal note - selection of Game of Thrones merchandise, very nice woodwork crafts and decent selection of books.

Excellent vibe, the lady behind the counter was lovely and knowledgeable about her products. the music absolutely adds to the atmosphere. While not technically an occult shop they have a selection of Crystals and tarot cards.
Also the prices are amazing, they have beautiful leather bound journals and what looked to be woodcraft done by hand.
All in all an absolute joy to visit and well worth the drive.

I always enjoy visiting this store while I am in fergus. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable. There are so many things to explore, new and used books, stationary items, celtic items, essential oils, some metaphysical items (crystals, oracle/tarot, etc.), etc. There is something for everyone and the pricing is very fair. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic shop. Debbie is very knowledgeable and kind. I can spend hours in this store. I love my beautiful Celtic goddess I purchased. The crystals are wonderful and there are so many great books. Everyone should visit this shop and buy something special.

Great experience. We recently drove a considerable distance to purchase something promised locally, only to be disappointed in the availability and the service. We then tried The Bookery, where we were helped and treated with the greatest care and consideration. I cannot recommend them highly enough. You don't often come across this kind of service anymore.

Funky little shop the is packed with things to look at. Great selection of books, stones, figurines. Owner is charming and very informative. Great place to visit while in downtown Fergus.

A charming shop full of excellent fiction and non-fiction books, as well as a solid selection of candles, crystals, and other similar goods. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Fergus.

Gorgeous little bookshop with interesting collections of both commercial and antique books. The selection for crystals, incense, tarot cards, and other occult items is great -- a wonderful find in a small rural town.

Enchanting used book store filled with beautiful selection of mystical finds. Whether their for a book or something more magical, worth a visit. I also like the local made essential oils.

So many cool things...all things Celtic flasks, letter openers, unique watches a really cool paperweight that has a slide out magnifying glass. Very reasonable prices. The staff are so helpful and friendly!

Perfect store for any book lover! Spent over an hour looking through classic books. I was able to find quite a few that I had been looking for. And the lady that was working there was very friendly and helpful
