Bonnie Lou's Cafe

We came to visit St. Jacob Farmer's Market and took a Tractor tour. The tour leader recommended this fantastic family-owned restaurant to us. Run by Mennonites, the restaurant serves delicious food. We ordered from the dinner menu, where we could choose between garlic chicken or roasted beef with mashed potatoes, coleslaw salad, and a dessert of our choice. I picked the roasted beef, which reminded me of a traditional Christmas meal. I also tried their homemade iced tea, which was delightful. Definitely recommended!

Delicous lunch today of pulled pork on a bun, Caesar salad and the best pecan pie for dessert at Bonnie Lou's Cafe in Floradale. Wonderful staff. Shout to my wonderful server, Vera. Sadly missed out on the butternut squash soup though. Got there within an hour of closing time. First visit and will be back! Plenty of parking behind the restaurant.

Finally, I had the chance to stop in with my partner after being recommended it by family, and it was well worth the stop! I got the pulled pork special (I already ate half the salad before taking the photo), and it was so delicious. The service was kind and quick, and the atmosphere was so lively and homey. Also, there were lots of desserts on display that looked delicious, though I only got the pecan buttertart, which was tasty. I'm looking forward to going again!

Generous, delicious homestyle cooked lunches and bottomless coffee. Also great for those looking for hearty take home meals and baked goods.

Our dinner was so delicious. There was roast beef, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed vegetables, salad, cole slaw, and dinner rolls. It was served buffet style, and you could up for seconds.Their variety of pies were baked on site. My coconut cream pie was one of the best I have ever had. Also, coffee and tea was offered.

The food came to the table really fast. The food was also really good. The pancakes 🥞 were delicious, they melted in my mouth.

Highly recommend this place.

Very unique small village restaurant. I believe the diner was once the village post office with some remnants of that still intact. Good home style food. Fair pricing and friendly staff. A real little gem of a private run restaurant.

Had the most excellent meal. I was visiting my Canadian cousin whilst on holiday and I would highly recommend. It was a nice holiday treat to eat in such authentic surroundings.

Food was very good. Great service by the staff. It was busy in the restaurant, but you could actually hear at your table without much distraction. Overall it was really very good.

I was the tour guide for our Mary Morton Tours group of 30 who had lunch here on Saturday April 1st from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. What a wonderful experience ! Our group loved this place, and we are usually a pretty picky bunch.

Their mashed potatoes were divine, roast beef so tender you could cut it with a spoon, tasty chicken, and a choice of six different pies for desert.
Service was fantastic from super nice folks, and the restaurant is adorned with a with a wide variety of marvelous old items from sewing machines to old cash registers.

We will be back here again real soon. Everyone in our group loved this place. Thanks so much for having us, and for your oh so kind attention to our needs.

A lovely spot with excellent prices and friendly staff! I can't believe my special included a dessert as well, and what a dessert it was. It's clearly a popular spot too as groups were coming and going, I would recommend making a reservation for groups of 5 or more!

If you can, try to sit facing the window so you can admire the passing horse and buggies.

Excellent Mennonite restaurant. Prices and the atmosphere are great, it's like you are transported back in time.

Love this place. We stop here every time we are in the area. Home-cooked style food and we always buy extras to take home. Absolutely one of my favorite places.

We found our new favourite place for lunch. Great prices plus the servers are exceptional and attentive but the reason for the 5 star rating is the delicious and fresh made food. If you have room for dessert try the tasty Toblerone Cheesecake.

Best kept local secret! We found Bonnie Lou's on line and took my mom there for lunch. Service was very good, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The soup was definitely home made and very good. The breakfast items we ordered were well prepared, very tasty and served piping hot. The coffee, bottomless cup, was very good as well. We also bought butter tarts and a slice of cheese cake to go and they were both excellent. The atmosphere is classic country with lots of locals enjoying a leisurely weekend breakfast. From the menu board, they are daily specials all at great prices. We will definitely be back!

If you like well prepared homemade food, you'll love Bonnie Lou's Cafe! You won't find fancy dishes here, just good old fashioned cooking. A full hot meal such as meatloaf or roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy or a great deli sandwich (on homemade sandwich bread of course) with a fresh salad or soup is always on their menu. If you're hankering for a big breakfast, get there before 11am!!

Delicious, abundant, inexpensive meals, amazing home baked pies, and Singer sewing machine bases for their tables. Charming.

Nice little local spot. Good portions at reasonable prices. Beautiful building that is very clean and nostalgic. Business hours not that great, so make sure to always check their hours to save disappointment
