Cabanoix et Châtaigne

We had an amazing evening at Cabanoix et Chataigne. Delicious food, splendid atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Domme. Menu was delicious and very nicely pepared and decorated. Usually three menus are available from which one can choose. The menu is designed to use local products and it tasted wonderful, the dessert was especially good. A good selection of wine is availabe. Owners definitely care what they do. Be aware to reserve a table, otherwise there is no chance to get one just by walking by.

Excellent food served with passion and a wide smile.
The owners are very nice, speak perfect English, and are both knowledgeable of their region and willing to share said knowledge with their customers.
The wines and spirits selection is great and their advices precious.
The courses arrived quickly and the presentation was lovely.
Overall very nice experience definitely recommend!

Our experience followed the many positive reviews online. The waitstaff were friendly, patient, accommodating and efficient during our visit. Most important, the food was excellent with trout gravlax and tatin canard forestier standing out. All of the desserts were of very high quality (I believe they have a pastry chef on staff) and the strawberry pistachio dessert was particularly exceptional. I appreciated that they had a good selection of regional wines by the glass and the courtyard setting was also inviting. Our dinner definitely stood out among the many meals we ate while travelling between Paris and Toulouse.

We chose this restaurant for lunch because of good reviews. Love this cozy place. Nice decor. The waiter doesn’t speak English, but tried to help. Food was amazing, but we had to pay with cash because of some Internet problems….

The menu has a range of choices-all really interesting. The preparation, presentation are fantastic resulting in an awesome experience of taste.

This is the best restaurant we have eaten at in France. The food was exceptional and the service was amazing - we were traveling with someone who is immunocompromised and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and safe. This restaurant is a must if you are in the region.

We had two courses from the Terroir menu for lunch which was good, freshly prepared food. The service was discrete and personable and the meal was not cheap but good value.

An excellent meal with attentive service. A wine list encompassing the region and France more broadly with a number of different ones available by the glass. Enjoyed sitting in their courtyard too. They had a tremendous selection of various foie gras and the lamb shank was well prepared.

It is an exceptional place. A very nice environment, service and food. We had fish, meat, veggies, cheese, dessert, wine. Everything was extremely good. In addition there are lot of Gluten Free options.

WOW. What can I say but it was wonderful. My wife and I had three different types of foie gras. They were all superb. Each had a different flavor and were served with different salts to complement the differences. A highly recommended restaurant.

In an area where the standard is already high, Cabanoix stands out for its superb foie gras platter, as well as the quality of everything else the chef prepares. There are only a few tables and a few items on the menu. Quality, not quantity. A little pricey, but certainly jutified. Modern decor, not fussy. Definitely go, and woth visiting from afar. Also a small deli.

I came here 16 years ago and was nervous about returning as it had been exceptional. No need to worry it is even better with sublime food and wonderful service.
