The best roast Sunday pub roast (pork belly) I have ever had (of about 50) (picture provided is of a different Sunday lunch roast also pork on the same day ). Prices reasonable and decent selection of beer. Nice atmosphere (fireplace) and child-friendly. Conveniently located after a day out on the South Downs.

Absolutely fabulous Sunday roast experience - one of the best I've had in recent memory. Despite it being a busy, busy lunch service, the staff were all very attentive and positive. The cognac I had with dessert was even served on a tumbler of hot water!

The vegetarian wellington was top notch as was the sticky toffee pudding. Great selection of local beers including lovely stuff on cask. Prices all very reasonable for 2023.

We parked right across the road in the council office car park which is £1 Saturdays and free on Sundays.

Worth going out of your way for a roast here, we will definitely be back, hopefully soon.

Best feeds I’ve had out in ages. A truly pleasant surprise. The Vegan and Gluten Free options were plentiful particularly the desserts which is unusual. The food was excellent. All washed down with a good selection of beers and an excellent Malbec. The staff were attentive but not over the top lending itself to a really nice evening out. Will be back for another roast for sure!

The Pelham arms in Lewes is always a pub I have to visit when I'm in the area.
I have been for just drinks and eaten there on a number of occasions and never been disappointed.
The burgers are delicious, along with the specials I have also tried.
The bar staff are friendly, the place is clean and the food is delicious, in a lovely authentic pub setting.
If you're visiting Lewes, it's a must, in my opinion.

Really spacious, attractive looking pub with friendly and attentive bar staff. Good choice of drinks, especially some beer I hadn't seen before on the taps. I'd definitely go back to try their food when the kitchen is open.

Great place with a very nice atmosphere. I only popped in for a quick lunch but it just instantly felt so good I didn't want to leave. As I came in so did a group of people and I was expecting to wait a bit before I get served. To my surprise Holly despite being busy acknowledged me straight away and took my order in a very friendly manner. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with chips and a drink. The food was served by Lydia about 15 minutes later. Everything was looking great and tasted just perfect. The girls were good as gold and made sure everything was ok. I had a lil coffee on my way out but trust me I really wanted to stay. The venue was very clean and tidy, staff were approachable and friendly and the food was really good. I'm definitely coming back 🙂

A lovely family meal out. Attentive and super chatty staff made our evening. Knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Gorgeous burgers and the chips were well fried. Always a true test of a restaurant- if their chips are up to scratch! 10/10

We had a brilliant meal at The Pelham Arms. The menu is great, with loads of options for vegans and veggies as well as meat eaters. I’m a longtime vegan and the celeriac, spinach and chive rösti with salsa verde and roast parsnips was really special, as was the pear and cinnamon rice pudding. Portions were really generous. Everything was perfectly cooked and made from scratch - best pub meal I’ve had in years!

Food is honestly some of the best you will have in the south east. The onion rings are to die for. And I have had a lot of onion rings in my time! Sometimes the service is a bit slow, due to being usuallyvery busy, but they always have a smile on, always try and find you a place even when booked and are generous with portions. Abyss beers are excellent too. One of the few that don't give me a headache! What more could one want for??

The perfect pub lunch experience.
The pub: Broken up into lots of different sections. Some parts are carpeted with soft furnishings, others have wooden floor boards and furniture; some are near the bar for the pub vibe, others are in separate rooms for a more chilled experience. All are cosy.

The food: Outstanding. A very varied menu, from which we chose the deli meat sub. They were delicious, and generously portioned. The fries were also excellent - crispy glass-like outside, fluffy inside.

The drinks: A varied selection of beers from international, regional and local brands. I had the Gonzo pilsner, which is made by the brewery that originally started in the pubs cellar, and was very impressed. A still cider on the handpumps is also a welcome sight.

The staff: Very friendly, efficient and helpful. There were only two people behind the bar, and yet they managed to keep the place running smoothly. We didn't have to wait for anything.

Amazing roast. Smoked pulled lamb for me, slow and low smoked porchetta for the rest plus we added cauli cheese which was delicious. Would 100% recommend, and great service to boot.

Best veggie wellington Sunday lunch! Nice old pub in Lewes, small beer garden, easy parking opposite, friendly team, amazing chef.

My favourite pub in Lewes! It's cosy and welcoming with a big enough garden for summer evenings, even if a little shady.

Its the only place I'll go for a drink and accidentally have a dinner out too. The burgers are phenomenonal and they make such good plant based options that the tofu burgers easily stand their ground against the meat options.

I've never had a bad meal and more importantly, never had bad service. They have a great selection of local wines and it's the birthplace of Abyss Brewing so there is always something fun and tasty on tap!

Oh, and don't get me started on their special Sundaes...!
