Coffee#1 Monmouth

Monmouth’s high street boasts far too many coffee shops, but this one comes out on top in every single way.

The atmosphere here is wonderful, the staff are extremely friendly, my cappuccino was made at perfect temperature and it tasted incredible too. In fact, I thoroughly recommend the seasonal roast!

When my laptop was taken by a petty thief, barista Courtney singlehandedly ran after him and tackled him to the floor outside Boots. I did wonder if perhaps insulting his mullet was a step too far, but honestly I respect the dedication to quality service.

Likewise, as my latte was about to meet its untimely demise at the hands of a gravity-defying spill, Manager Becky swooped in with the agility of a caffeinated ninja, skilfully averting disaster with a swift flick of her wrist. Assistant Manager Maddy, ever the vigilant guardian of all things frothy, stood ready with an arsenal of napkins, ensuring not a single drop was wasted. I am ever in awe of their heroics.

We live in Cinderford and me and my wife / sister popped in today for a quick coffee with our pet dog Dave. The people on duty were really helpful when I explained that I was allergic to nuts in one of the cakes. It was fine as I asked for a bowl and I just took my nuts out and put them in the bowl. The coffee was nice, which is good. We managed to get back to home at 11am which was good as we were just in time for Dave to have a wee.

Bacon bap and a flat white. Very good, fast service, lad behind the counter was very pleasant.

Monmouth has a number of good coffee shops however the staff at coffee 1 April Sid and Tom make this the best in Monmouth

Nice coffee, even nicer staff. Visited yesterday with my sister-in-law, my 3 month old and her 9 month old. The male barrista was extremely lovely when I requested water for the babies bottle. Very accommodating and friendly. My only problem is the step to get into the shop, but as a market town I don't expect all the shops to be fully accessible.

Coffee you can actually taste! Always lovely and warm.

Lovely morning experience, spent some time with my little sister having our usual morning coffee and when she asked for a straw, the gentleman make the extra effort for 3 straws and she absolutely loved it, along with her choccy millshake and cake!
By far her favourite coffee shop!

My favourite coffee lounge in Monmouth. Lovely, friendly staff (especially April), great ambiance, comfortable seating and excellent coffee! A relaxing place to kill time or meet with friends. Highly recommended!

It was our first visit and the staff were very patient and accommodating in helping my elderly mother-in-law. The toasted sandwich, cake and coffee were absolutely divine! Would definitely recommend Coffee#1 and will definitely go back😊
