A group of 12 stayed a long weekend in May. It was terrific. We loved the place, right next to the river. The tents were all well set up and comfortable. Toilets and shower facilities good and clean. We will be back.

We booked our work summer social with Adventure River and we had an amazing time. Will and his team took care of everything from teaching 30+ people to canoe to organising archery, packed lunches and a bbq.

The scenery along the Wye is stunning and our team really enjoyed themselves. I would not hesitate to recommend Adventure River to others looking for a unique work social or team building event.

Had my stag do here over the coronation weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. Emrys and his family were welcoming, accommodating and couldn't have been more helpful. Even though the weather was not always on our side, the camp that Emrys had prepared for us meant that we stayed dry whilst cooking, eating and chatting outside. The tents and beds were warm, sturdy and very comfortable, with facilities close by in the next field. Finally, the activities that we had chosen (archery, raft building and canoeing) were all either in the neighbouring field or a short walk along the river to the activity centre. Each one was great fun and hosted by knowledgeable and friendly guides. Great location, great accommodation, great people. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Great location, great facilities, and loads of food. It was a lovely weekend and we had loads of fun on the river. Would happily recommend it to anyone, and it's in a beautiful location.

We came to Adventure river for two nights for my brother’s stag weekend in July 2022. The site had everything we needed, we wanted for nothing and friendly Emrys was expert at making sure we didn’t. The tents were really spacious, and the private pitches well spaced and cosy. It was a great base to do the 11-4 canoe trip from which is highly recommended. It is also a nice manageable riverside walk to the town of Monmouth for food and drinks. Having said that the BBQ packages offered on site are absolutely top notch, nobody went hungry and the food was quality, nothing was skimped there.
The place has a real nice atmosphere because it is surrounded by trees. Don’t let the proximity to the main road put you off, traffic noise wasn’t really that noticeable in the end.
We all said we’d definitely consider booking to come back again and would recommend to anyone looking for a laid back glamping experience.

Took over the tipis for a stag weekend! Location is brilliant both for pubs in Monmouth and the canoeing centres on the river wye. The host on site was great and had thought of everything we could possibly need. The BBQ and breakfast meat was from a local butcher and fantastic! Would recommend to all of my mates thinking of going somewhere a little different for a birthday/stag/hen.

Since my 3 night stay here with friends in May I have recommended this campsite to others several times. It really is a perfect spot by the Wye and Emrys and Laura are great hosts. We took our own tent but the bell tents looked great value too. The tipi added atmosphere and provided a group space option in addition to the fabulous kitchen set up. My concern beforehand had been the proximity of the site to the main road but in all honesty it didn't impinge at all - just made it more accessible!

Absolutely amazing site. Used adventure river for my friends stag and everything was perfect. Tipi site was perfect, canoeing was all arranged and the BBQ set up was great. Literally all we had to bring was ourselves. Emrys is a great host who was helpful throughout. Couldn't recommend these guys enough!

We had a brilliant weekend with adventure river. The organisation, facilities, communication, location all absolutely spot on. Couldn’t have asked for better. And the little touches like butchers meat for the bbq and and keg from the local brewery made it a 5* weekend. We had great weather but even if it was rainy, there’s plenty of shelter around the bbq and the big tipi to hole up in. Would highly recommend.

We all had a really good and enjoyable time and the set up on site was brilliant. We felt that the price was really good value for money. The site looks inviting with mowed pathways through long natural grass leading you to your camp. The camps are perfectly spaced out so that you feel you have your own space. Being able to have a small camp fire makes the whole experience more social as you can all sit around and enjoy the evening. We had some rain on the last day but all camps come with a shelter, benches and tables which are brilliant so you can still enjoy being outside. Will and Patricia were very friendly and informative, if we had any questions or wanted anything such as logs for the fire then they would drop them off in the afternoon. We were lucky enough to have a shower in the next field, this was a temporary thing as the leisure centre was having building work and this is what would be available normally if you wanted a shower. The shower in the field was no thrills but perfect for doing what you need it to do! This would be a good thing to keep in my opinion. All in all amazing time and will be returning at some point in the future. Thanks guys!

We are a group of 19 women, who are a bit older but pretty active, and we did the Adventure River canoe trip from Monmouth to Whitebrook on Saturday 8th Oct. We organised the trip with Emrys who was really helpful with all our questions and the odd last minute change. Many of us were virtual beginners having done very little canoeing before and some were rather nervous. We were mostly in two-person canoes with one three-person. Our guides, Ted and James were brilliant, very encouraging and practical and not at all patronising! The weather was great and the river was beautiful. Everyone had a really good time and we all learnt a bit of technique which will help with our next venture. It was a very successful trip which we would highly recommend.

Fantastic weekend at a great price. We loved our weekend away at the camp site (group of 9, 2-4 Jul 21) and would thoroughly recommend Adventure river to anyone.

Booking process was easy and Emrys was always quick to get in touch. He sorted out our package which included tents, bbq hire, comfortable set up with chairs, a communal tipi, an outside shelter for eating and two days on the river with Guide Rhys (also fantastic). There were more options available and we found the price was great.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Emrys who had set everything up ready for us. We were also visited by him and Laura throughout the weekend to check that we were ok. In addition, both were available throughout on the phone for any questions. We felt welcome from the beginning and will definitely be returning!

There was another group on the site who were on their fourth stay, who return every year. This goes to show how good the set up is.

5/5 would go again.

I previously booked a place at the site last summer for a stag weekend; it was a cracking weekend. The site itself is in a picturesque meadow by the river and although there are two other camping spots nearby they do not encroach on your own space. Loads of space, fire pit and wooden benches, BBQ with sausages and bacon etc provided by the local butcher. It's only about a 10 minute walk down the river to town where there are plenty of drinking spots, not that we had to leave the fire and the wilderness. It's a great spot to chat with friends and bond with others. Will was really helpful with the booking and organisation process and was always on hand to give any help if we needed it.

The guys (16 of them) who came along still talk about it now and have even suggested we make it a yearly thing - which we may well do!

We had an excellent weekend. Couldn't have asked for much more, the tipi's were plenty big enough and the food & beer provided was exceptional. Overall 10/10.

Great day out for a Sten Do! Two great guides keeping us safe and entertained on the river. Ye Olde Ferrie Inn was such a great place to stop for some sunny pints, this was recommended by the team and their communication/organisation throughout was second to none.

Great place to stay. Everything was set up for us before we arrived, location was beautiful, a 30 second walk to the river and they couldn't have been more helpful.

Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing place to have a camp out with freinds, great facilities and being on a stag do, we were quite loud..... But no problems for us as the various campsites are far enough away from each other, and raft building activity is a must, definitely recommend the whole experience
