The Porthmadog Travelodge has to be one of the best places we've stayed in for a long time ,,,we stayed in a wheelchair accessible room as my wife is disabled and can't walk at all ,the room was just right and the bathroom and shower wet room was equipped to a finnish that was better thought out and designed than most of the top named hotels ,The staff were very helpful, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, everywhere was clean and tidy,,we would definitely stay there again when we visit that part of Wales in the future, and we highly recommend staying there if you are ,or anyone in the family is disabled and in a wheelchair.

Here sunday til friday. Staff are wonderful. Can't wait to go home for sleep though. The noise is far too much

Lovely friendly welcoming. My husband Alan took ill on way there. Dawn & Maise (not sure on spelling) were so kind, helpful & caring. System had broken down as we were trying to stay 2 more nights. They did all they could for hours till finally sorted it out for us. Thank you travel lodge. & a million thanks to Dawn & Maise. Will never forget your kindness. Would recommend this travel lodge to everyone. Went far beyond expectations. Look forward to staying there again. As well as this the place was spotless, comfy bed, plenty towels. Thanks again God bless you. Adrina & Alan Price.

Absolutely massive room I was very pleasantly surprised! Very clean and friendly staff, only downside is it’s down a very dark long road if you’re walking to/from town but that’s not something that can be helped obvs!

Perfect location for us. Cosy, comfy, clean rooms. Looks quite new, not sure how long it's been there. Staff were polite and friendly.

Good simple standard hotel, perfectly located in the Snowdonia national park, perfect for kayaking some of the best rivers in the UK

EXCELLENT SERVICE
Read some of the more negative reviews about this hotel and was apprehensive of the complaints about stale pet smells, but I'm happy to report that I had no such problems in my room.

There's a faint whiff of pet if the carpets are wet, and it's definitely more noticeable out in the hallway. But overall - the room I stayed in (Room #8) was clean and free of pet hair, dirt and all the other stuff that some people had picked up on.

Located in a quite industrial estate, there were no noise concerns and it's about a 5 minute walk away from town and various supermarkets etc. So you're not stuck in the sticks away from civilisation if you need supplies. It's pleasant enough to stay in for a night or two.

Really good customer service by Hotel Manager Amanda, very welcoming and I couldn't have asked for more, given that this place averaged £36 per night, which is a very good deal at this time of the year (January).

Just out of town near Aldi, Go Outdoors and Sports Direct. Clean rooms and very friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend Breaktimes cafe just round the corner for an excellent breakfast

Only stayed 1 night but my kids and I loved it. Staff was excellent room offered everything we needed few fixtures and fittings were not 100% but we're nog that fussy location right behind the town centre so close enough for all amenities 3 major supermarkets on your doorstep room clean and beds comfortable all had good sleep. Would stay again. Shame Porthmadog is so far from us otherwise I would be staying a lot more often. Great trip 🏴??????

Having read some of the initial past reviews, we were a little concerned about what to expect, in particular the alleged scrapyard at the back of the hotel. It turned out that there was no scrapyard, and we were more than pleasantly surprised.

A warm welcome was received on arrival, room was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Hotel was nice and quiet, and it was great to see the lift fully working, given we had luggage and were on the top (2nd) floor.

All the staff were lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. Reception area welcoming, and there was excellent security with keycard locks in the corridors and on rooms.

We didn't have the breakfast box on-site, instead went to the local Breaktimes Cafe, recommended by the staff, which was lovely.

The price was great for the area, and the hotel is very close to amenities, around 5 minutes walk to the town centre, and just under 10 minutes walk to the railway station.

Overall, we had a really wonderful stay, and very happy to recommend the hotel for anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable stay in Porthmadog

The staff were very friendly and outgoing, on the evening 29th of April a male member of staff went out of his way to help us find the best routes to get to snowdon so huge thanks to them.

Very nice staff at reception. Room smelt of cigarettes, but they moved us very promptly and without fuss. Rooms getting a little tired, but excellent value and this was only half a mile to the centre. Recommended.

Hotel staff oppon arrival reception staff member was exceptionally friendly/helpful. When I arrived it was raining and cold and still 3 hours till check in. She went to see if room was ready and allowed me in before midday for free when normally charge is £10. This made a world of difference to my day and allowed me to walk along the beach all the way to cricceith castle and back which was a lovely walk. This kind of personal touch gives me hope even big chains like Travelodge can be personal to the individual which is a very positive thing.

The room was a large family room which I appreciate as it gives you lots of space for your self and a guest if that happens. Room was clean and up to usual good Travelodge standard. Only thing I'd add is sockets by the Queen bed to allow you to plug in divides from bed but I understand this is not always economically bot practically possible. Rooms have a good of Moel-Y-Gest from front side. Looks amazing as clouds WIP around it just a few hundred mentres from you. Lastly price is often great in 25-35 range very reasonable ATM.

Driven from Yorkshire today on the aim to get to holyhead for a getaway with my boyfriend and got stuck in floods and ended up here. Sadly they weren't able to get out room transferred as they were fully booked but the lady at the reception was amazing. Truly did everything in her power to help us get a place to stay. Great staff that's all I have to say. And thank you we made it to holyhead
