AW. Porter&Son is a good ol' fashioned Family jewellers. I took my Great Uncle's clock to be repaired- free estimate ( overstated in the event), full explanation of work required. Quickly served, despite other customers on a Saturday afternoon (clocks separate department). Few month's wait, including a few weeks for testing- reassuring ! It's chiming as I type. I've taken my Grandmother's too.
The jewellery looked classy ( not Ratner's here!) and the staff seemed knowledgeable ( man posting). I parked right outside. Just check the opening hours before you go.

AW Porter supplied our wedding rings, and I was very impressed with the service. Time was taken to explain the different types of wedding band to help me make a decision, and my order was dealt with very promptly especially given the busy Christmas period. I would definitely recommend AW Porter to anyone looking to invest in some nice jewellery.

I have always used Porters to purchase special gifts for friends and family from. The jewellery is beautiful, well presented and the staff are very knowledgeable. So when I had been left some rings it was a no brainer to go down to Porters and ask them their opinion and advice about them. Rex was very helpful and inspected them for me identifying the metal and stones. A W Porter were really helpful and efficient. They cleaned my watch and diamond ring to a high standard at a good price. My husband's watch had a problem which the manufacturer wanted to charge £700 to resolve. A W Porter resolved the problem for less than £100 and were a pleasure to work with. We live in Basingstoke, but I would happily drive to Hartley Wintney to use their services.

I recently had a number of items of jewellery valued for insurance purposes and was very impressed with the professional and friendly manner of the staff. I was delighted when I received the printed valuations with photographs of every item valued, I expected to have to photograph the items myself. I certainly recommend A.W. Porter & Son, if I decide to purchase replacements for jewellery I had stolen I will go to Porters.

I have only great things to say about my experince interacting with Rex at A.W. Porter & Son. He always responded to questions promptly and patiently, I got the feeling he was genuinly interested in helping me as a customer. He took new pictures of the timepiece to sort out new questions, even recorded a video to show a specific function I was worried about - and with a bit of humor along the way. Highly appreciated, highly recommended.

Trust plays a big part in feeling comfortable when investing in special items and it is that trust that ensures repeat visits.

Replaced snapped watch strap of a Mondaine watch. Fitted with a simple black leather strap. Service was quick, price very reasonable and the extra effort was also made to retain the original buckle to retain the asthetic of the watch.

I also regularly use Porters to have my engagement ring cleaned and this is always done with much care and to a very high standard. Friendly and knowledgable staff.

We came in with little time to spare before our wedding and the jewellers were knowledgable, and very diligent; they even went as far as offering a loan ring if ours didn't come back in time which was very generous given it was our fault we were late. The service was very professional and a year on we are very pleased with our rings!

Excellent, traditional jewellers and clock smiths. Superb clock repair and rebuilding. Great stock of interesting jewellery, gemstones, watches and clocks. Extremely knowledgeable, helpful and skillful owners and staff. My go-to place for all clock servicing, watches and jewellery.

They saved my Longines watch from a nasty trip through the washing machine. The bag of bits i gave them is now miraculously on my wrist again as good as new. Can't praise them highly enough.
