a lovely spot celebrating the lives and works of William and Dorothy Wordsworth. great exhibitions and nice introductory video before the visit to the cottage itself - the member of staff who accompanied us was clearly really knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we had a nice chat about Dorothy's journals and the recent surge of scholarly interest in them. café was also lovely and serves a great sausage roll!

Visited here on a Wednesday afternoon. It was so lovely to see Dove cottage where William Wordsworth lived with his wife. The village is quaint. It wasn't a very nice day quite wet & windy so that's due to lack of pics. Well worth a visit x

I was given the absolute privilege of being able to handle and read from a first edition of Wordsworth's Prelude that was owned by his daughter. This is an absolutely fantastic space and does amazing work in terms of both historical preservation and education.

William Wordsworth museum and the Dove Cottage he used to live. Visit duration about 1.5hr. There will be a 10 mins video introduction in the beginning following by the tour of the cottage. And then you can stay at the museum for the exhibition. Nice tourist attraction. The ticket is valid for one year which is very good! Highly recommended.

What a great find! This is one of the most beautiful museums I've been in. Dove cottage is brilliantly laid out, you feel transported back to the nineteenth century and expect Wordsworth and his family to return from their walk any minute. The gardens are wonderful and give beautiful views. The staff are friendly, helpful and well informed about the whole history of the family and the place. A delightful experience. If you're in the area, this is unmissable.

Fabulous new museum with lots of audio. The visit to Dove Cottage lasts 30 mins and is preceded by an excellent film. Good cafe too. Could have spent longer there

Such an inspirational place, anyone with an interest in English poetry owes it to themselves to make this pilgrimage. To experience Dove Cottage as it was in Wordsworth's time is both moving and educational. The Staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable too.

Another excellent visit. Managed to include a guided tour of the archives which was fascinating but also helped appreciate the building. The exhibits were not just informative but interesting, particularly the hands on elements in Dove Cottage. Everyone involved was welcoming and very helpful. Thank you all. Looking forward to the next time

I was so impressed by this museum and the work they've done to preserve the Wordsworths' legacy. The whole staff at this museum was so informative and friendly and helpful. You can tell they are really passionate about the work they do there. We did the tour of Dove Cottage, and I was really pleased with they way they structure it. The 10-minute film they show before having you enter the cottage was very entertaining. Not a typical documentary style. You could tell it was made recently with a high production value. Dove Cottage itself was the real treat. Our guide was able to answer all of our questions, and we loved seeing all the tiny details throughout the cottage. The wooded areas were gorgeous, of course, and I could have sat there all day. The museum exhibits were all lovely, but what I really appreciate is the emphasis on community involvement. I loved the way you could tell local schools and volunteers had helped craft some small parts of the exhibit. You could tell this place is a real labor of love, and it made it all the more special. I would be thrilled to come back here. Highly recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous cottage and wonderful garden. Our guide Jessica was super friendly and did an amazing job, was very eager to share her knowledge and answer everyone's questions. The small group size was much appreciated as space inside the cottage is quite limited. Were also able to explore the premises by ourselves which we really enjoyed.

The house was lovely. You had to watch a 10min film about William and Dorothy Wordsworth before being able to explore the house. The different rooms were all beautiful, and the backyard too. It was nice to see how they lived.

We had such a wonderful time! We are English master’s students and it was such a treat getting to delve into the rich history of the area! Our guide, George, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind! He answered all of our questions and even drew us a map outlining a nice hiking trail we plan to go on! We highly recommend visiting!

A really beautiful place with historic significance allowing us to immerse ourselves in the world of William Wordsworth right from where he wrote some of the greatest romantic poems about nature and mankind. Being able to enter the cottage, gardens and woodland and walk his footsteps was inspiring and well worth the ticket price.
