Lovely walk, amazing views and beautiful path around Rydal water. Would recommend whatever the weather. The lower cave does require some scrambling to enter so be careful climbing up. Lots of little waterfalls to see along the way. White Moss Car Park is the easiest to access the walk to the caves, it was £16 from 9pm till 4pm, there are cheaper car parks a bit further away. Overall had a great day.

A lovely walk and well worth it. Beautiful views and incredible cave! Be mindful that there is currently (April 2024) construction work going on around the cave due to a disease in certain trees. There might be intermittent closures due to this work, so try to plan ahead! It’s important work to ensure the surrounding environment is protected. :)

Fantastic views across the lake. Short and long walking routes available. Parking is expensive and only a handful of spaces available, was busy in off peak season so expect to be rammed in the summer.

Good walk for beginner and people unfit like myself. Cave is stunning and view of lake. Walk around lake lovely too. Was quite busy. Dog friendly but not wheelchair. I'd say just be careful with the kids as some unstable terrain. Coffee van and toilets at beginning of walk. Parking for 2 hours is £5 at whitemoss car park. Deffo recommend:)

It was a great adventure. Our first hike. Me, my wife, my 14 years old son and my 4 years old daughter. I recommend this for family who wants to hike.

This place is located next to the Rydal water hence the name of the cave. This place can be visited during summer and winters. There is trial to be followed to reach this place. Ancient times this place used for the mining activities. The cave look stunning from both inside and out side. The water inside makes it to look even more gorgeous. The entry is free, there is other cave next to this. This place is pet friendly and offers parking. Parking lot is for first come first serves, and toilet facility available.

Great cave. Obviously the Witcher has been there so it must be great. Lovely easy walk for just about any level. The cave below is very impressive too. And the lake at the bottom is a great walk on itself.

You need WHITE MOSS CAR PARK for here. I would recommend anyone take the short walk from the car park to Rydal Cave. Its approximately 1.4 miles and beautiful scenery along the way. The trail is through woodland and then over open land which is quite rocky in places so wouldn't be great for a push chair or wheelchair unfortunately. But you won't be disappointed by this find. If you're lucky, you'll get there on a day where the water is low enough to enter the cave. There are no facilities along this route, it is only a short walk, but there are a block of public toilets near the car park as you head onto the path to start the walk.

Embarking on the journey from the car park, the scenic walk along the lake unfolds like a storybook adventure. The serenity of the water mirrors the tranquility of the surroundings, setting a peaceful tone for the exploration ahead. As you tread the path, the rustling leaves and distant bird songs accompany your steps, creating a harmonious symphony with nature.

Approaching the caves, the anticipation builds, and the landscape shifts, offering glimpses of moss-covered rocks and ancient trees. The cave entrance emerges like a portal to another world, beckoning you to venture inside. The route back weaves seamlessly through the lush greenery, providing new angles to appreciate the beauty of Rydal Lake.

The entire circuit is a sensory delight, with the earthy aroma of the forest, the gentle breeze off the lake, and the captivating scenery ensuring that each step is a delightful revelation. This enchanting walk transforms the visit to Rydal Caves into a holistic nature experience, making it a truly memorable day out.

The cave is great, love the stepping stones over the water to get inside. Takes about 20 minutes from the car park, the only let down was the 20 or so bags of dog poo on the route. Why people pick it up and leave it on the path is beyond me.

Great walk for the kids and a superb view from the top. Stepping stones into the caves had the boy excited.

Great walk for the family. Lots of things to see and explore. Good for young families. Lots of slate outside the cave and great for making sculptures . Lots of places for a picnic. Near by Carpark is £5 for two hours so enough to get to the cave and enjoy the area.

Well sign posted and toilets a small stroll from the car park, amazing views and a great day out even if it was raining, some great walks with most of the paths gravelled.

Cave is huge and looks really cool. It's a short hike and we encountered many walking and cycling past us. Stepping stones in the cave are a good experience but needed extra care. Beautiful views from the top. Better to visit on a sunny day.
Car park & toilets are at the bottom and we found a hot drink stall at the beginning of our walk to the cave.

Nice family friendly walk , caves are only 10 minutes from the car park with a lovely 2 hour walk around the lake.
Car park is ridiculously expensive though. £4.70 for a 2 hour minimum. Another reason the prefer Snowdonia but the lakes are still great
