Daffodil Hotel & Spa

We stayed for a few nights for a break away. The location is superb and just a short walk into Grasmere. The room was fantastic and we had everything we needed. The Spa facilities were excellent and not overcrowded at all. The food was fantastic and the staff were polite and helpful. Electric vehicle charging points are available and we used whilst staying but bring your own charging cable as they are not fast chargers and be prepared to put an app on your phone to use them. A great stay, thanks very much and hope to come and stay again in the future.

I have visited this hotel many times but this time on my own. Reception was quick and room ready early so I had extra time to walk into Grasmere. Parking plentiful. Food excellent and plenty of choice. Cleanliness perfect. The staff were all very friendly, smartly dressed and sociable. Everyone deserves praise who works here. A great stay, thankyou.

Stayed here two nights last week, beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location.

Spa and room were both lovely, evening meals on both nights were gorgeous. Super king size bed very comfortable and not two single beds pushed together as per some reviews. The toiletries in the bathroom were lovely

The anniversary gift left in our room and in the restaurant was a lovely touch

Only minor complaint is that the hair dryer in the room was rubbish and could do with being updated

Spent a fantastic 2 nights ar the Daffodil. Located right on the edge of Lake Grasmere, the location is stunning, with some great walks on your doorstep. We had dinner 1 night and it was excellent. Very high quality. Two breakfasts were also great. Buffet hot breakfast was delicious and you could order from kitchen too. The rooms were a good size with big comfy bed. Excellent shower. The spa was was good, but got a little busy at times. Robes and slipper are provided so you can get from room to spa without having to change at the spa. We didn't try a massage.
All in all, would highly recommend 👌

Amazing hotel! We have been here most years since 2014 and we have never had a bad experience. Location is incredible, it's just a short walk into Grasmere. The spa is lovely and relaxing. The rooms are super clean, they're cleaned every day, great room service and an iron/board in the room. Since becoming gluten free last year, I was worried I would struggle with eating at the hotel but no, there was so much option even when ordering room service. They went above beyond to cater for my needs and it was super still yummy!

Spa facilities are superb. I really enjoyed that. The hotel lounges, restaurants and bar areas are top quality. The food was amazing. We ate in the main restaurant and sitting room. Couldn't find fault with anything. The hospitality staff are all superb. Helpful, courteous and friendly. Especially Lin who went the extra mile to be helpful and friendly.

My husband treated me to a two night stay here as a birthday present and I can honestly say we had an incredible visit. As a wheelchair user I was a little apprehensive as to whether I would manage ok during my stay, however this concern did not last long as all of the staff went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and catered for. We stayed in one of the accessible suites, the bed was huge and the room was beautiful and clean.
The spa was amazing too, both of us really enjoyed our treatments and again the staff were really helpful and kind. Big shout out to Angel who did my facial and leg treatments! She was so lovely and really helped put me at ease.
Gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous location, would highly recommend to anyone needing a luxurious treat! Can't wait to return!

What a great place to get stranded! We were on our way to Keswick when we got caught in the snow on the 16 January. The reception team were amazing and checked us in quickly and the room was amazing.
We did not get to use the spa -providing us with the perfect excuse to return soon!

Beautiful settings close to villages Grassmere an Ambleside. Excellent Spa pleasant an helpful staff. Lovely waitresses very friendly. Only negative is the evening dining menu could do with a little bit of a revamp.

A beautiful family friendly and dog friendly hotel in Grasmere. The service was warm and the food delicious. The spa facilities were very relaxing. A great base for exploring Grasmere and the lakes!

Absolutely glorious place. Definitely definitely going back. Beautiful place set in beautiful surroundings with the most relaxing spa as a massive bonus, all, withn 2min walk into Grasmere. Cannot recommend enough.

Why this hotel only has four stars, I'll never know. Most four star hotels in which I've stayed can't hold a candle to The Daffodil.

The service, decor, cleanliness and Spa facilities are, in my opinion, second to none.

Excellent stay the room was spacious and comfortable. Very clean and lovely comfortable bed. Our evening meal was outstanding we had the Tommahawk steak highly recommended 👌 😋

Great location, welcoming staff, good food, comfy room with a view. Bed very comfy, room in great condition. Lounge had comfy sofas and nice ambience.

The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Rooms have more than enough space. Food also very good. There are leaflets at the first floor where you can check in so while waiting you can grab a leaflet and read about interesting places to go. I went to a 5 star sheep farm as recommended by the leaflet. When you run out of the water in the room you can go outside and refill it at the water dispenser. The hotel is also dog friendly and can hold maximum 1 dog per room, but will charge 30 pounds every night. Recommend 100 percent.

We had a wonderful stay for my birthday weekend. After a good breakfast, we spent mornings walking around the lakes, lunch in lovely Grasmere cafes and then a delightful two afternoons, lazing in the lovely spa pool, sauna and steam rooms and reading our books. I had an excellent full body massage from Kayleigh who did exactly what I asked and I felt so much better for it when I woke up. Dinner was excellent both nights and all staff were pleasant and friendly. Would stay for 3 nights next time to squeeze in a longer walk on one of the days.

This was a 3 night stay as part of a birthday celebration, when we arrived there was a small gift and card in the room. All the staff were great and accommodating, always helpful and willing. The food was excellent all the way through, we only ate dinner once and it was really good, great flavour and choice. The Spa was quite small and it's not a pool to do much swimming in. The message we had was certainly quite good.
One of the best things is the location on the shore of Grasmere Lake and 10minutes walk into Grasmere where there are lots of other places to eat and shops to look round. Also it's easy to get to both Ambleside in one direction and Keswick in the other.
Would thoroughly recommend staying there. I expect to go back for our next trip to the Lakes.
