Very welcoming pub/hotel. Part of a small locally owned chain. 5 beers at the bar, cosy yet large dining area. Food is excellent, reasonably priced. Well worth the visit. All I'd suggest is that they didn't serve the tomato and brown sauce in the bottles! A small dish of sauce in request would finish the experience nicely!

Amazing place to stay! The staff are friendly, quick and helpful, the place is absolutely beautiful, clean, cozy and warm. The rooms have stunning views, the food is delicious, and the inn is relaxed 7-10 minutes slow walking away from Grasmere village. There is also a bus station directly in front and many lovely hikes all around. Can recommend 100% and will book again!

Service very good. Easy free parking for guests.
Quiet, even being close to the road. Clean, comfy bed. Food great value, candles nice touch. Rainforest shower very nice.

A beautiful country inn that had a welcoming pleasant atmosphere.

Really lovely stay on a Sunday night after hiking Helm Crag. Excellent location at Grasmere. Sunday lunch was still being served so we thoroughly enjoyed that. Breakfast the following morning was equally enjoyable. The room was very comfortable and a restful nights sleep was had. We would definitely stay again.

Stopped for a coffee after our hike.
Friendly and welcoming.
Comfortable and clean.
Traditional style. The coal fires were lit, so it was lovely and cosy.
Dogs are welcome, too.
Very nice atmosphere.
I'll definitely be returning.

Only sharing on my experience of a post walk beer, so can't comment on food or service.
Classic old pub, feels independent, good beer selection, 4 at my visit.
I arrived pre dinner so plenty of staff, but every table was booked so that's a good sign. And locals came in to eat, so same.
My lakes brew co lake beer was excellent.
Real fire. Very cosy..
Not much room for a drink if you aren't eating but enough for me and I'd like to come back for food.

Popped in for Dinner one evening whilst staying in Grasmere. A nice little tidy restaurant. Owners were lovely and the food was brilliant. Parking wasn't a problem either. Thanks so much.

Favourite pub to go to after a day out on the fells. On this occasion we visited after completing the coffin route/ Rydal caves circular walk. We called in for our usual cheesy chips and a pint of coke. Staff are brilliant. Food is served very quick. Definitely recommend.

Had a 4 night stay, all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and warm. The food is amazing, you have to try the steak and kidney pudding.

I have visited this gorgeous place few times now and I cannot get enough! Nestled in the heart of the Cumbrian mountains, it offers the most cosy and scenic experience! The food is fresh, tastes delicious and the staff are very friendly. I always come here for a beer after a long hike and it never disappoints.

Planned this stop months ago on my roadtrip up through the Lakes and on into Edinburgh.
Perfect half way (roughly) stop for lunch, incredible scenery, fantastic staff, great food and a great pint.
Highly Recommend this place for a stop on your roadtrip journey through the lakes.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Travellers Rest Inn. The room was clean and tidy with WiFi, TV and hot drinks. The meals were lovely and the staff very friendly. I would call back in just for the delicious steak and kidney pudding l had as my evening meal if ever passing but we both said we would definitely go back to stay again.

Such a great classic pub! Friendly staff in The Lakes can sometimes be hard to find. We were so thrilled with the lovely service from Laci.

Always go to the Travellers Rest when we are in the Lake District. We always have a warm welcome from staff and the food is excellent. It is lovely and cosy as they have a couple of fires. The service is excellent, and they always ask how your food is, which is a good sign of attention to detail. Well done.
