The food was delicious, the steak divine.
The large tomatoe was cooked well but needs more taste, but the topping on the tomatoe was made up for it.

The staff was great and happy.

Only a new landlord but a great start.

Only needs some real nonalcoholic beer and cider. (Not flavoured).

Stopped here on our way back from a walk near Durham for something to eat . The food was lovely . The parmo was delicious made with really good chicken not the flat compressed chicken you sometimes get good prices also . Staff were really friendly and had us laughing
Would definitely call here again .

Got married abroad and my parents arranged a party here to celebrate upon our return.

What a great night it was! All of the staff were amazing, nothing was to much trouble. The place looked amazing, the catering was amazing. I honestly wouldn't have changed a thing.

Shout out to my parents for arranging it, but mainly to the owners and amazing staff, especially Jess, such a great atmosphere. Thanks for making an amazing memory for me and our loved ones to hold onto forever!!!

I had not been here for some time, but thought I would try it under the new management.
The place was very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. The staff were cheerful and welcoming.
We went for the lunchtime menu with two courses at £10.95.
My starter was black pudding with peppercorn sauce, which was a rasher of bacon between two slices of black pudding and peppercorn sauce topped with a poached egg.
Main course Pasta Alfredo, chicken, mushroom and onion in a creamy parmesan sauce.
I must say that the food was extremely good, nicely cooked and very well presented.
I will definitely be going there again very soon.

Food was absolutely outstanding. We got the build a burger and size was huge and taste was really something else. Service really genuine and nice and so polite. The young girl and lad were so nice. We will sure be going again soon. Thanks again please keep it up.

Called in Saturday 5.30 for tea. Bonus was lovely singer on who runs Wednesday quiz. Fair priced drinks and food prices were very reasonable. Had chilli chicken wrap and chips ,lovely food and service, great price. Well worth a walk up for locals or call in if in car . We will be back soon .Cheers

This place hosted my sisters wedding party, and WOW! They did not only make sure everything was done, they went over and above!!!! From the staff to the venue, it was the loveliest event! Every person there was smiling and laughing. I would highly recommend this place, and will be back 100% ❤

First time visiting since the new owner has taken over.
We had two courses, one black pudding, one bruschetta and two main lasagna’s. Food was all fresh, homemade and was so lovely. The staff are very friendly and attentive, princess the pub dog is chilled out absolutely no bother. We will definitely be back x

Had a fab night for the carvery & quiz night on a Wednesday!
Great atmosphere for the quiz, quiz host also sang some songs & played guitar.
Really enjoyed the turkey & yorkie puds were HUGE! 😁👍🏻

We held a party for my daughters wedding and the staff were amazing, always on hand and could not have been better. The venue food and level of service provided by James made me want to adopt him. Thanks to all.

First time here, Staff are friendly and down to earth, chilled atmosphere, Carvery was spot and lovely, friendly, well behaved Puppy walking around, This place welcomes Dogs and perfect for families and for a pit stop!

Best Sunday dinner in the area.

There aren't really many negatives. Gets busy but never too bad, max you'll wait is about 20mins. The conservatory seating area gets really hot in the summer, freezing in the winter - try to sit in the main bit.

As for the positives, I'd recommend this place for multiple reasons. The desserts are a hidden secret, whatever variety of cheesecake they have will be great. Sunday Dinners are why you should be coming here - generous, tasty carvery. Normal menu I'm less experienced with, but there are always good things to say from fussier family members.

Live abroad now, but this is always my first stop back for a proper Sunday Dinner and drinks

Really enjoyed our meal this evening, the four of us all had something different the food was freshly made and very tasty.

The Pub itself was warm and welcoming, service was excellent. We will certainly visit again.

Our server was lovely, had a great memory too. Very quick service, too. The food was incredible, one of the best meals I've had on this holiday. They were also very considerate and happy to make alterations for me (I'm a picky eater). Very appreciated.

We went in today for a Carvery after visiting family in the area. Although we didn't book, we were offered a table even though they were clearly busy. The meat was very well cooked and the whole meal was delicious. The servers were friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend a visit here.

Haven’t been here for ages but wow 🤩 we were treated extremely well by our server, genuinely great lady. Food was amazing. Huge Yorkshire pudding, veg was super fresh and the meal was hot. We’ll definitely be back.

Excellent service from Booking to Eating.
Adam and Shaun handled our booking of 30 people for Sunday Lunch very friendly & efficiently and the lovely food & drinks were served in the same way.
The beef was melt-in-the-mouth delicious .
Without doubt we will be returning

We got for their carvery about once a month, it is a great carvery at a very reasonable and justifiable price. The meat options are always great. But the standard menu is also delicious. The mince and dumplings are brilliant.

Visited for a birthday dinner, I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and came with tasty homemade chunky chips and veg with peppercorn sauce. Would definitely recommend.
