I visited Broadway last Friday to explore its marvellous landscape and see the amenities of the place. I was looking for a traditional pub on a strategic spot (close to main churches, relevant attractions and in a green area) and I found this little place. It is situated on church street, in proximity of St Michael's church (the main in the village) and the medieval idyllic church of St. Eadburgha's. The pub is only 100 yards away from the main street (Broadway Hotel and the Lygon Arms are located 5 minutes walk each). This made my stop even more pleasant and enabled me to better organise my itinerary in Broadway.
I will start from the service and then I'll move on to food and atmosphere. I did not use the rooms, so I won't cover that aspect.
The lady, who looked after me, did her best to accommodate my requests. She was kind and available. She easily found a table for me when I was outside and gently explained me the menu and its options.
I ordered sirloin steak. The dish (see picture) was well worth it and potatoes were well-cooked. Steak was finely cooked - I asked medium rare and was served what I asked for.
Lastly, decor was rustic and conveyed a cosy atmosphere. There's an outdoor space too, which can be valuable when it's sunny - an ideal spot to sit and have a meal before going for a walk.
The business offers rooms for people who want to stay. I haven't visited, so I won't discuss them.
Overall, it was a very welcome discovery. I recommend this place.

We phoned ahead to book a table. We were located next to the open fire. Enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food. We both had the beef dinner. Became very busy towards the end of our stay. This is the local pub rather than the tourist pub so plenty of lively banter etc.

Stayed for one night in a twin room. Small but adequate room with small Tv and tea making facilities. Breakfast was extra £12.95 but good value and if anything to go by the meals would’ve been as good . If you’re thinking of eating there you should book in advance as it was very busy The staff and owners were lovely the service was excellent. The pub has a rural and relaxing feel to it.

I enjoyed staying here with my husband. We stayed for two nights - Saturday and a Sunday - we didn't opt in the breakfast (an additional £12 each), so can't comment on that but I can recommend the local faggots. They were really dense but still moist and tasty, my husband had the beef and plum pie, which he said he enjoyed.
The room we had was quaint and the bathroom was a good size, the bed was a little small but we are used to a king, but it was comfortable tho. The room was nice and warm and we couldn't really hear much noise from the pub. The road outside can get busy in the morning but that's nothing to do with the pub. We found the staff friendly. We would stay here again

Lovely, proper traditional pub. Very friendly staff, dog friendly, good reasonably priced meals and a log fire. What more could you want?

Lovely traditional pub with friendly staff, an open fire and excellent grub. Dogs are welcomed and the prices are very reasonable (especially compared with the high street!).

Perfect Sunday dinner here last week, loved it! Sensible price, good food, and when I asked for a small glass of wine, I wasn't given a large and told "That's how we sell it." Spot on.

Lovely from start to finish. Home cooked food. Original pub food at its best.
Good value.
Waitress was so helpful happy and friendly in her work. An asset to your business.

Very busy pub with great beer and hearty, good quality food. Dog friendly. Cheerful and efficient service. I would strongly advise booking ahead as we did on two occasions when we saw a lot of people being turned away. It doesn’t look like you need to book the outside tables, although those were very busy, although they started to free up around 7pm as the grockles drifted away.

Just off the end of the town. Very attractive premises. Good selection of real ales and ciders and delicious food. Prompt and polite service.

Brilliant! Enjoyed a pub lunch here with my wife. We had pie and chips and steak and chips. The food was fantastic. Very well priced, extremely tasty and served hot and promptly.
The service was friendly and relaxed.
I would label The Crown as a traditional Inn. There seemd to be a good selection of ales and ciders. ( which I didn't try as I was driving). We sat outside, but the inside seemed cosy and clean.
I would recommend for families and couples who are looking for good pub food.
Thank you to the staff for making our day special.

Don't know what the rooms are like there as we just stopped for food.
Would recommend booking a table as all were reserved inside when we went but was lucky there were tables outside and it was a nice day.
the service is good, they are very cheerful and happy to to find out put answer if there are dietary restrictions. There were only 2 options for beer the day we went. The food is really good quality and did take long to get once we placed our orders.

Cracking little place, top notch food, would highly recommend this place, also a good plan to book a table prior, guaranteed a seat then

Great little pub off the main tourist road. Very traditional on the inside, nice range of beers and wine and bartender was very friendly. Fish and chips were ok but the pie of the day was brilliant.

Lovely meal, nice and hot. Not massive servings, just enough. Staff, really attentive and very pleasant, except for one at the bar who kept messing with his phone, and was quite annoyed when you asked him for a drink.
Gorgeous pub, in an absolutely beautiful village.
Definitely our favourite place to go.

We weren't staying but popped in for an afternoon drink. It was a beautiful day. We were warmly welcomed, served quickly and we chose to sit on one of the many benches outside. What a lovely way to spend some time relaxing. Each time we went for more drinks we were treated to the same warm approach and quick service.
