One of consett oldest shops and still one of the best. A tremendous range of goods. I have a trade card for b and q and drive past there to go to gralands.

Hubby is in here often and has used gralands for years. If they don't have what you need they always try their best to get it for you. Reasonably priced too.

An absolute gem! How they manage to fit such an amazing variety of stock into the shop is a mystery - but they do. Peter and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and will almost always have the item you need. Best of its kind that I have ever used. Well priced, too - and they deliver large items cheaply. Many, many people would be at a loss without Gralands.

Try these first and Support your local business. Prices are very good, staff are always very pleasant and very knowledgeable. Honestly forget the big chains there is no need anywhere else.

Brilliant shop with great prices and everything you need for DIY.

Gralands is an olde world gem of a hardware store. Crowded with everything could ever need, you have to squeeze down aisles to discover what they have. Great selection of tools, ironmongery, woodworking items, in fact its probably quicker to list what they don't have! To give you an idea, we bought a lathe Chisel, some wood finishes and stains, some nuts and bolts, a plaster mixing paddle, numbers for the wheelie bin, a spare rope for the log burning stove door, some door catches and numerous small items.

There's really helpful staff who know the stock inside out and can help with queries about everything diy. I noticed that even when people were asking for items they didn't carry(things that weren't even hardware related) the staff would still try to help and signposted other little shops in the area where help might be found.
A lovely throw back to my childhood as well as a great place to shop. Prices were excellent, no excessive plastic packaging on everything and the ability to buy small amounts of things like nuts and bolts instead of having to buy a bagful like other diy stores.
If you're going to Consett, prepare a list for Gralands before you go and include all those hard to find things that you can't even find online, you'll be amazed what they do have!

Great little gem of a shop!! It is my go to place when I need anything DIY. They sell screws by weight so can only buy couple if that's how many you need. Their shop is packed with everything you can think of. All staff are very knowledgeable and kind and are willing to help you with any questions you might have. You can park right across the street. Prices are very reasonable for what they offer. 👍👌

Would give this six stars if I could. I love this shop. The staff are always really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. No matter what you need, they’ll either have it, be able to get it, or tell you where does have it.

Excellent shop. Been going for 12 years and if they haven't got it they will help to find a work-around. Very helpful staff. It's always full of local builders, which must say something about the place. Everything from four candles to fork handles.

Good selection of stuff in here. Very good prices. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of DIY stuff.

Fantastic store much better and cheaper than B&Q, buying loose nails by weight is ideal for when you only need a few, great selection of hand tools, key cutting service, plenty of plumbing parts and timber

Once again Gralands had everything I needed and at a reasonable. Staff are all helpful and know what they are talking about. There is still a place for small independent retailers.

Just on the edge of Consett town centre. A shop which is a real treasure. DIY, Traditional Ironmonger, bit of everything. Just as a shop should be . Friendly and welcoming and popular.
