The Angel Hotel

We stayed at The Angel Hotel for the weekend. Cannot fault our experience from start to finish. The staff were polite, attentive and professional. The food was exceptional quality. The rooms are clean, airy and spacious. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch too. We’d sincerely recommend stopping here or even coming for a bite to eat. Thank you for providing us with a great experience. 😊

Lovely village atmosphere in a friendly hotel. The bed was super comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast yummy. Kippers and poached eggs in particular with granary bread a favourite of mine. The owners and family work extremely hard taking care of the guests and the 9 rooms.

Popped in for a drink whilst visiting the area. Lovely friendly people. Pub area can get very busy. Food served upto 1.45pm and the restaurant opened again at 6pm. The restaurant area is away from the drinking area. Food was Brilliant! It was our favourite place we eat at. The waitress, (she had butterflies tattoo) was very polite, helpful and friendly not just with us, but with all the customers she served. When we return to Coleford, we will definitely have another meal at this place. Update 2024: returned to the angel hotel for drinks/meals. Once again fantastic, friendly service from the butterflies tattoo lady (she even remembered us visiting in 2023 and where we sat)! The food...well, we'll be returning 😁! What does that tell you?

Super cheap council car park within easy walking distance. Didn't stay but had a meal and it was great. Fully loaded plates. Good pub food, reasonable prices, lovely staff, nice surroundings. Also decent music playing that was not in your face. Dog friendly in the bar. Shout out to the server with the butterfly 🦋 tattoos. She was lovely.

Its not luxurious or quiet, however the room was immaculate smelled gorgeous ( can tell a lot by the smell in a room) the hosts were brilliant so accomodating ... we have motorbikes and they locked them in safely for us. The bar was loud as a bar should be, and the music was on point. Decent breakfast in the morning.
Ate in a small Italian restaurant just up the road it was very good.

We are moving to Coleford shortly and wanted to try out The Angel Hotel and stopped for lunch on Sunday. The meal was superb, freshly cooked vegetables and plenty of meat on our plate. The ambiance was friendly and welcoming and because of that, we will definitely be back for more meals. The service was so good and we were treated as if we were very special friends.

We had an amazing time here. It was our Daughters 30th birthday and there were 7 of us. They were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and piping hot. Everything was cooked to perfection. The carrots still had their crunch and taste (exactly how I like them) There was nothing that wasn't right about the meal and the staff were all fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant for meal.

Great place good friendly atmosphere friendly people,the staff are friendly and very polite. Pool table is 50p only 👍 big clean beer garden overall it's really enjoyable.

Lovely pub. Interesting decor lots of bricks, wooden beams, old style memorabilia. Courtyard out back. Usual range of beers, ciders, wine and spirits. Friendly even though busy.

We were blown away when we walked into our (superior double) room; Really beautiful decor, grand, spacious and spotlessly clean. Very easy key entry system for accessing the hotel after closing time which was helpful for when you are out late. Free WiFi too which is always a bonus. There is a pub and nice little breakfast room on the ground floor of the hotel. Friendly staff. Laid back feel. We really enjoyed our stay and found it to be very good value for money.

Nice beer, friendly staff, no drunken morons trying to upset anyone. What more can you ask, definitely will be back.

Spent 4 nights here. Perfect location for all walks. Lovely room with large ensuite. Happy helpful staff. Amazing breakfast cooked to order.

We had a lovely one night stay here, the breakfast was very good and set us up for the day of travelling up to Snowdonia. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

A short stopover in Coleford so we booked into the Angel, the bar has a welcoming atmosphere and the rooms are clean and well presented. The staff are friendly, attentive and present themselves very well, a warm and welcoming stay, will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Sophie.

Freindly welcoming and accomodating. Room had local photos and effort made to give feel for area. Single beds were larger than single so plenty sprawl room. Breakfast was when arranged and pleasant.

Staff is awesome, breakfast good, room very clean and comfy. Not one complaint.

The hotel is right in the city center, in the roundabout around the Clock Tower, which means there's nowhere to park. Right by the door there's a bus stop, so it's tricky even to unload bags, if you are like me and travel with a thousand baby stuff. That said, staff suggested you won't get a ticket if you do park to get bags on and off.
There's a cheap (very cheap.. like £6/week) parking up the road and also in the Co-op the street above. I had no issue parking in Easter bank holiday.

The pub itself is nice, but I didn't eat there.
Right next door there's a club. I couldn't hear anything in my room on the second floor, but would ask about it just in case.

The pizza in the corner is not great, but can do the trick if needed.
