The Fox & Duck

Came here to have a nice lunch with family, and the food was great! Very friendly staff, especially on a busy warm Sunday. Plenty of outdoor seating although we didn’t use this.

It was my birthday and our first venue had a power cut, but the fox and duck managed to squeeze us in, they joined in with all our birthday madness and made it a truly memorable experience. The food was amazing, lots of it , everyone loved it!

Out in a bike ride and came across this lovely pub in the centre of a pretty village. Lots of seating outside the pub on the village green, wonderful in the sunshine. Ordered the steak, Stilton and onion in ciabatta which came with salad, coleslaw and chips. A generous portion which was extremely tasty.
I would definitely visit again.

My goodness, nothing but positive things to say about this trad little English pub. We came here based off our accomodation hosts referral, and she has hit the nail on the head.
Fantastic and friendly staff, hearty and filling food and a great beverage selection. The steak was cooked to perfection with a delicious pepper corn sauce and the lasagna was a slice of home. Highly recommend!

Well worth a visit. We had the steak panini and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Great choice of beers etc and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent Sunday roast. Portion size is very generous. Pudding options were good too!

We had a table of 7 for Sunday roast we waited about 20 minutesfor food,which was absolutely fine the dining area was very busy we were offered drinks as soon as we all arrived. The food was absolutely delicious we had roast chicken, roast beef and roast pork all cooked to perfection and the best parsnips I've eaten in ages highly recommend

Very nice and friendly place with tasty food, and the portions are big! They also have some nice vegetarian and vegan dishes too. Highly recommended.

Lovely food. Very generous portion. Haggis bon bon was lovely. So was the main - venison two ways and fish & chips. Very friendly staff. Noticed it was very popular with locals. Pity that we were too full to go for desserts.

Lovely country village pub setting. We had a large family table, which all the staff managed very professional with a friendly service. Looking forward to returning. I would advise to book a table.

Busy for mothers day and didn't have our booking !!!!
Manager sorted things out and found us a table quickly.
Enormous portions and everyone agreed the food was delicious but no one could finish.

Six of us celebrated the eve of our grand-daughter's departure to tour Europe in her GapYear. The six dishes were so good that five were sharing around. Not me! I hogged my mine. Too good to share. Ivan is an excellent host. The staff all look happy working there.

The Fox and Duck is the finest example of a truly wonderful village pub. Not only is the food and drink wonderful (huge portions and great flavours) but the staff are incredibly welcoming. There is also an amazing atmosphere as when we were there it seemed the entire village were in attendance and yet it was still relaxed and wonderfully friendly.

Fabulously packed pub on a Friday lunchtime . Lady waitresses and servers , efficient, engaging and just lovely to talk to , food deliciously home made and generous portions , nothing left but clean plates followed with a tasty glass of Sauvignon blanc … will definitely be back

We was very impressed by their home cooked food in this restaurant, the colleagues were very friendly and polite. We came here as they got such a good review and I can confirm that too.

My husband booked a table for my birthday and I've got to say the staff were amazing, my husband knocked a full pint over along with my drink and it was cleared up very quickly and drinks replaced free of charge, the food was excellent with lots of choice and tasted fabulous, a dish was bought out with a candle for my birthday which was a lovely touch... thank you The Fox & Duck for making the evening special. Will definitely return.

Incredible food (the cubes of liver on the Veal Duo were some of the richest, most succulent things I've eaten) and great service as always. This place definitely deserves all of the plaudits and awards it receives.

Anywhere you can get a pint and a pint of pork scratchings is a winner for me.

We have eaten here for work lunches in the cozy pub and had summer drinks out on the benches out the front.

Great food, good beer and friendly atmosphere. My favourite in the area.
