Great for dogs! With the horizon you can see any bikes, dogs, walkers, before you need to call them back. Loads of space for dogs to run about. A place we visit often

I regularly go just to sit and enjoy the views plus the piece and quite.
Like one of the previous reviews it's a shame people don't abide by the rules just open the door or boot and let the dog out, on two recent visits there was a horse rider which with people letting their dog's run loose is a little concerning.
Sadly I did notice that there are no bins (noting rubbish in the corner overlooking the McDonald's) a warden patrolling once in a while might help cure both the dog's and the dumped rubbish.
I do not recommend taking a low slung car more likely to rip the sump off (glad I have a 4x4 pickup truck) watched a Merc come very close.
I do hope that with all the recent incidents of traveller's setting up camp that it does not become necessary too install a height bar or block the entrance with a concrete block, sadly I have come across this at other beauty spots around the country.

Come here for the views and you will not be disappointed. Golf games aplenty yes, but the walk around the entire place is worth it for the simply breathtaking views of Royston at large. Even the benches are conveniently placed so you can take a breather or have some tea with views for days in front of you. A stunning place if you love natural landscapes.

This is a great place to go. Lots if walks including hills if you want. Very popular for dog walkers. The golf course is on the Heath so beware of flying golf balls

Therfield is beautiful, it’s a very versatile place. It has woods, greenfields, trees line, and small hills, a perfect place to have a day out. It’s the ideal place if you are training for trail running or want to beef up your normal running.
There are two car parks, both are free and have a lovely cafe. It’s also an open-air golf course.

Great place for walking and getting a bit of sunshine. Nice views and beautifully maintained grass, which is part of the golf course. Free access from the car park. Pets are allowed, but no bicycles, no horse riding, no fire. The walk on the grass is pleasant but it can be a bit steep in some places.

Fantastic views from the heath. Great walks. Went today for the Royston Kite Festival. Great day out.

Great views and walks. Great to walk a dog and spend time in nature. There a big parking near the cafe and the cafe offers good variety of food and drinks. Quite spacious too.
Toilets available too and bunches on the hills so one can enjoy the space and view

Lovely place for families. Lots of wildlife and rare plants. Wild pasque flowers grow in a huge colony. Wooded areas and walks. Great views from the hills.

Great place for a walk. Good to get some hills in this area and you get a good view of the golf course. Quite a good mixture of scenery including wooded paths and grassland. Lots of dog walkers

Fantastic area to walk with or without dogs.
Lovely cafe to stop and have a brew.
Highly recommend if you are out to enjoy all the British Countryside has to offer.

Lovely all times of year. Perfect place for sledding in winter, dog walking, picnics and ball games. Rolling hills and lush green trees. A great place to sit and look over the town. (If viewing my 360° photo, you may have a shot of my feet. Oops!)

Amazing views and walk from the Royston Town Centre. Ideal to go on an evening stroll. Very nice soothing views from the top.

Nice for walking, although it appears dog walkers have frequently left their animals waste behind here.

The nearest site to me to watch and photograph Chalkhill Blue butterflies, if you time your visit right, it doesn't disappoint. Great for other butterflies, flowers, views etc too

Have parked on the heath over 45 years great for flying kites kids picnics and dogs and golf
