I came here with a large group the day after my wedding for lunch and the service we received was absolutely outstanding.
We were supplied with plenty of drinking water without having to ask and provided with plates etc for a cake we brought along. At some point a staff member brought us a £5 note that one of us had dropped. Big massive thank you to all of you there!!!

Lovely old Inn in the centre of Royston. The staff were terrific. Helpful and very friendly. Serving Abbot ale was a massive plus, as was the sun blazing down in the lovely courtyard. I suspect being a major listed building changes are difficult to achieve but it’s a great historic place for a visit.

I arranged a large group dinner for 32 people here, the second time we have met here. As previously, the food and service was excellent and everyone was happy.

My wife and I went here for my cricket club's annual dinner. We all had a really nice time. The venue was amazing and so was the food.
The starters, mains and the desserts were very tasty and very generous in portion size.
The staff were very friendly as well.
I would definitely recommend The Old Bull Inn Hotel if you want to hire a venue or have a cozy meal out.
Thank you 😊

Had my 50th birthday party up in the function rooms. The staff were amazing, really helpful and very relaxed. The rooms were great and I had a great night, along with 120 guests. Some people stayed at the hotel and were happy with the accommodation. There is loads of parking in the council car park right next door to the property and this has no parking restrictions on Sunday - so perfect for my Saturday night party. Thanks guys, you come highly recommended! Paul

Nice, but the Beavertown tasted like washing up liquid and was served in a Guinness glass. The head was scraped off with a cardboard beer mat too.
Bar staff could've been a bit more welcoming and appreciative of our custom throughout the day/evening.

A nice place to go seeing as all the rowdy teens have taken over our usual nearby drinking spot...

Will I return? Time will tell.

The service was impeccable, the staff were really friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. The room as a little bit dated, but it was clean and the beds were super comfortable so we had a great nights sleep. We had food in the main bar when we arrived then breakfast the next morning, and both were delicious. I would definitely stay again!

Selected this venue as a midway Saturday lunchtime meeting place with family not seen for over a year. From the moment I rang to check a couple of things in advance, I was impressed. Was warmly assured of a table reservation for 5, reserved free parking for a relative with walking difficulties, availability of both gluten free and vegetarian options and full adherence to Covid regulations and safety. On arrival and throughout our stay, we were all delighted and impressed. All staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and respectful of the safeguards in place (THANKS!). Great choice of food and drink and all at very reasonable prices. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. Exceptionally clean throughout and good social distancing observed. We all felt very relaxed. Attractive and well kept character inn with a charming rear courtyard. Would gladly return. Wish this inn was local and not 2 hours away!

Attended a training course at the Old Bull. Lunch was provided and was delicious and was a good amount and choice for everyone. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub / building itself is traditionally exquisite and well looked after. Will definitely visit again.

Thank you so much to the lovely staff who calmed my nerves after driving in scary conditions last night when a surprise snowstorm hit! (Driving in an unfamiliar area at night with two teenagers in the car during a snowstorm isnt something I was planning on!)
You went above and beyond, giving us hot drinks, snacks and mobile phone chargers and making sure we had plenty of warm blankets in our last minute room!
Thank you so much for being there in our hour of need!

Overnight stay for a wedding at minstrel court as it was only a 15 min car journey if that was was fairly central. Unfortunately we didn't arr
I've early enough to dine before the evening reception however we got backbin time for last orders at the bar and had some nice gins.
We had a twin room and was very clean, overlooking the courtyard which didn't bother us as we was out and beds were very comfy!!
Breakfast was included in our rate and it was very enjoyable.
Thank you 😊

We held our mum’s 80th birthday Afternoon Tea party in the Ballroom this week, and could not have been more pleased with the venue. The tables were laid out with beautiful China and extra clothed tables were supplied for the cake, presents etc. Even a coat rack had been positioned discretely in the corner! The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Afternoon Tea itself was a delight. Excellent range of sandwiches and cakes - all presented exquisitely. My mum had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you to all at The Old Bull.

Me and wife took advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out and all the staff were fantastic, felt safe with the social distancing and the food was amazing. I will definitely be going back and would be more than happy to pay full price for our food. The Beef Short Ribs were so nice and the meat just fell of the bone. Great place Great food.

In my opinion, the best accommodation in Royston. Always friendly hosts, a quick breakfast service (which starts early morning) and lovely evening meals as well. Would recommend!
