Good place for meal out. The servers are efficient and friendly. Also the food tastes great with great presentation. Well worth the price

It is our “go to “ restaurant when we visit South Shields - a long way from our home in Essex so it is not very often but it is a delightful restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food is superb. What you read is what you get - if it says medium strength it is exactly that, not bland or eye wateringly hot. Best of all the food arrives heat hot, not tepid. There is a good selection of drinks to accompany your meal. All facilities are clean and the restaurant is nicely decorated and welcoming. The restaurant director, Rukon Chowdhury, is always in attendance and ensures that everything is perfect so that you have not just a good meal but an enjoyable evening. We recommend Spice Garden unreservedly and look forward to returning.

A fabulous meal at the Spice Garden. We didn't book as we arrived at 5 but it started to get busy as we left. The meal was piping hot and displayed beautifully. All of our starters were very tasty and large. The main meals were big too with tasty side dishes. And the price was brilliant. Great service from the kind staff.

I went past this little place when visiting Newcastle with my wife and family. We were lucky enough to get a table as the place was quite busy. The service was fantastic, food was amazing. The restaurant Manager was Rukon Chowdhury who was very attentive and friendly. The price was so affordable and cost average £12 per head for starter, main and drink.

Truly believe this is one of a kind place. Highly recommend.

Just come back from a delicious curry I had chicken madras couldn't fault it spicy chicken really tender and plenty of sauce.. Chips crunchy and the rice fluffy. Had a nice bottle of kingfisher larger to wash it all down.... Staff so friendly.... Thankyou to them

Very nice staff and excellent value and portions. Really good food. I like plenty of chili and they did a great lamb Ceylon spiced up to vindaloo level for me.

The only mild criticism is that I think the lighting is a little too bright in the restaurant. They should get coloured smart bulbs so they could adjust the atmosphere a little bit more. It's a very small complaint though. I'll be back again. Very pleased with the place.

£11.95 set menu avaliable every day but Saturday. Starter, main, rice and a small dessert. Fast service, choice of two draft beers (most curry houses only have one). Food was very tasty. I would say they are cautious with the spice so go one up on what you normally would. So if you like mild go medium etc. A nearby table said there wasn't enough meat in her curry but we thought a fair amount for the price

Visiting South Shields for the first time we chose Spice Garden because the prices on the menu in the window were very reasonable and there were a number of clients inside. We were not wrong. What an absolutely superb restaurant. The staff were courteous and professional, not “ in your face” but there when needed. They were happy to adjust any meal to suit your requirements. The food was served hot ( heat wise ) and spiced according to the description - medium was exactly that and not over spiced or bland. The cost was very reasonable and a lot less than we pay in the South of England! We were so impressed that we booked to return before we move on.
