Have used Thorpes more times that I thought when I came to write his review. Quiet, understated and yet has a nostalgic feel about it. I really do enjoy visiting this establishment.

A wide range of household goods including the ones you didn’t think you needed. In fact so much that I always end just asking the great staff who are so helpful leading me to where I needed to be and listening to their great advice. Love the line once the shop window re lightbulbs. Go and have a look for your self.

Make sure you support this local business and I was very impressed with my self not to ask for 4 candles 😉

The store owner has saved my bike from disrepair out of kindness on 2 occasions and this store has everything you could possibly need at perfect prices. Will definitely go back for products or advice

Went yesterday to replace a missing bolt from my son's scooter that had came off on the way to school. The staff were excellent, helping me find the product I needed. They even took a hacksaw to the bolt I needed when we found it was too long for the job. Nothing was too much trouble. You were all fantastic as usual. My son has went from being heartbroken to ecstatic! It's meant the world to him. Good old customer service at its best. Thank you so much.

Thorpes is an amazing store. If you want something they will have it. Better than any corporate hardware store. They have real people to help you with genuine knowledge of all of their hundreds of products. I wish every high street had a Thorpes

Popped in to day to pick up couple of things and as I was browsing listening to the staff it’s clear that they carry high standards of customer service in every interaction they do from the queries to pleasant conversation it’s what you want to see from a local business that cares about its customers. Oh and did I mention it’s an treasure house for those things you need.
I bought some wood asked for it to be cut not a problem and was done in a flash.

Great local hardware store which stocks a wide range of items (including some you won't find in DIY superstore) for house and garden. The key-cutting and engraving service is particularly useful. With reasonable prices and excellent service, a visit here is always a pleasure - oh and yes, they do sell fork handles!!

I took a glass vase here to be engraved and was really pleased with the job they did and the service I received. I took it with short notice and despite being really busy they managed to do it in time. The guys were lovely and it was no more expensive than the chain I also enquired with (who did not have the correct machine for the size of the vase).

I honestly love this place, been doing some DIY in the house, instead of driving all the way to wicks or bnq I just go here. I could honestly spend hours in this place.

Used this store on numerous occasions, and on the only time that they couldn't supply they put me in touch with a local wholesaler that could, Key cutting, engraving and DIY products galore.

This breed of local owned shop is sadly dying out, and well deserves to be supported. So far they had everything I ever went in for, just one item that was ordered and they SMSd me the next day when it came in.

Brilliant to see that standards are as great as ever in Thorps staff there are so very helpful polite and professional love that little shop of you can't get it there you won't get it anywhere ha ha
