Durham County Library - South Regional Library

Y'all, this place is amazing! The security guards, cleaning crew, and customer service members are incredibly friendly. Tables are wiped down and reset often. I've never been in a public bathroom that was so clean! I wish hours were longer for studying, but I can definitely respect that this isn't a campus library that can support 24/7 hours. The library stays pretty quiet outside of a few people doing Zoom meetings in the designated quiet area or occasional kids running around. The librarian tends to be pretty good about stopping the ones screaming. Headphones are usually enough to block it out. Great library and I love that it is very family-oriented!

Nice neighborhood library; good selection and rotation of highlighted seasonal and new arrival books. Electric charging is even available. There’s a water bubbler sensory spot in the children section and a scavenger hunt for them to participate in. The outdoor section is nice and somewhat enclosed— Mr. Joel is really great with the toddlers! The staff is helpful and kind.

First visit and we got our library card. The staff were very kind and helpful. Large section of kids books! We’ll be visiting again often.

Went with sister and her grandbaby to toddler time. Great program and wonderful instructor.

Love the fact that they have added more computers and pay stations to print documents

UPDATE- If you vote here (early or regular) get ready... The people soliciting candidates are brutally aggressive. *This is NO reflection of the library itself.

They have Chargepoint electric car charging stations so that's nice to plug in while you're either in the library or reading in the car. Only 2 of the 4 are working right now, however.

I can see why this library is voted #1. The is sooo much to love !!
In summer, they have great reading programs for both youth and adults.
Large selection of books, and many current ones, that would have to pay $20.00 ++ on Amazon.
The have nice meeting rooms for just about anything .
Easy parking , and right across street is a fabulous Polish deli, which makes outrageous sandwiches.

They also have a fair number of DVD's to watch, and again, current movies as well.

A special shout out to Jessica and Rebecca, who truly go the extra mile, especially when helping me. : - )

Our library is fantastic. The new building is extremely functional, and a pleasant place to sit and read...it's a quantum leap above the old Parkwood branch! I'm a big fan of libraries in general, and the staff of the South Regional Library never disappoint.

GREAT staff! The other day, a librarian chased me down to ask if I wanted my DVDs unlocked (I had totally forgotten)! That's better customer service than I get at places I'm paying!

I love this library! The staff is very helpful and considerate. When I was working on a detailed assignment they got me through! I like it when they seems happy and always willing to assist.

Clean, Well organized, knowledgeable staff friendly and ready to help with Questions and concerns. Wide aieles helps with finding books with others in same as solder..

Be prepared to answer your current health situation re: COVID (standard questions), temp check, sanitize hands and WEAR MASK. Overall, still a great library!

Excellent community asset. Several historical exhibits about the original Lowes Grove Farm School. There's an exhibit of Penny Yates of historic Yates Mill area in Wake County. All this plus great summer reading programs.

Great library!! Huge selection...plenty of parking...fuel efficient car parking and they even have spaces to charge your car if you happen to have one!!

Beautiful library and love the kid events (storytime)!
Staff seem nice enough (at this point I’ve only gone to storytimes and to obtain a library card) and no issues.

My Mom and I both prefer this branch of the DCL; It's set up a lot better, and has a much more comfortable "feel" to it.
Will post a pic after my next visit.

Very clean library, staff is friendly and eager to help you. Highly recommend this location.
