Dr. Maximaa and his staff operate a truly wonderful practice. The facility is clean and well laid out, they adhere to appointment times better than any medical practice I’ve been to in the Keys, and most importantly—they are expert in what they do. If you listen to their guidance and follow through with the treatment plans they give, you will get the best results imaginable. Many thanks to Dr. Makimaa and his staff of badass caregivers!

After being told that I had a traumatic sprain for 2 months, I finally got an MRI. A patient of his recommended him and he took me the next day! It was broken and he showed me where. Said if I had come in right after it happened I would have been a candidate for surgery.. but because I was healing, we just let it continue and added a boot. I was happy to just continue the process and now I just have to continue exercises but I’m sure that I am on the right track.
Dr Makimaa was firm but kind and that’s what I needed! The staff is wonderful and I highly recommend him!

I previously saw a podiatrist who treated my issue in a very generic way. Needless to say, most nuts went by with no relief. Dr. Makimaa personalized a treatment plan specifically for me and I began feeling relief after my second visit. He knows what he’s doing, without a doubt! I highly recommend him.

We called regarding an injury to a big toe toenail (and, by the way, the office answered right away. We left a message with another foot and ankle operation....they returned our call three days later!). We were scheduled for the same day. The scheduling receptionist was very helpful and expressed a sense of urgency with the situation. She provided detailed directions on how to locate their office (very hidden). The office was bright, clean and very busy. Receptionist was very friendly. Technician did his take in prep and the doctor was right in. Nails were removed from two toes. Very detailed instructions on how to care at home with a supply of bandages that already contained medication, plus the office called in a prescription for an antibiotic immediately, which was communicated with us via our phone before we left our appointment. Before we left, an appointment for two days out was scheduled to follow up. Overall, the visit was professional, staff friendly, environment bright and clean. We have absolute confidence in the care provided. Thank you!

Krystal, Melissa, Kendall, Jesana, and Charissa are an absolutely fabulous team along with Dr. Makimaa. At my visit they went above and beyond to make sure I was aware what shoes I needed to wear at work as well as at home and even provided a recommended shoe list! I love you all of you ladies!!!!! And thank you all so much for your hard work and dedication. It doesn’t go unnoticed!

First time at a podiatrist, had to have my big toe nail removed because of a fungus. For such an awful procedure, everyone from the front desk, check in nurse and Dr. Makimaa were exceptional! Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a foot doctor.

DO NOT HESITATE TO CHOOSE THIS FACILITY!
I had a mishap while navigating stairs on the first night of my vacation. Went to ER where the doctor was useless. 2 days later, we found Dr. Makimaa who immediately diagnosed and properly treated my injury.
We called the office and were seen within 90 minutes. Upon arriving at the office, we were immediately whisked back where x-rays were performed by another outstanding physician. After another five minutes I was in with Dr. Makimaa.
Office is clean and well run- front office staff were friendly and very efficient.
Finding the location in Key West was the only difficult part as it is located behind a large strip mall, where you would never expect a business to be.
A+ 5 star best medical care I’ve actually experienced as of late. Only regret was not choosing this facility from the get go.

I went to Urgent Foot Care pretty much bi-weekly for the last six months, first for a broken foot and then for wound care. The wound from skin cancer surgery on my shin was the size of a quarter and down to the bone. The prospect for healing if treated casually was minimal. With treatment and biweekly compression wraps the wound was coaxed to healing in about 2 months. Dr. Makimaa and the whole staff are totally professional and incredibly friendly and caring.

The entire office is well oiled machine…the staff was friendly, attentive and professional! We got in the day we phoned for appointment. Dr. Makimaa did an excellent job. Will definitely spread the word! Thank you Urgentfootcare / Key West!

The stuff is excellent, The receptionist always ready to help, Crystal is very nice and efficient. Also, Thrissa, the nurse is very enthusiastic and professional every time we required something from her. The doctors are fast and knowledgeable. My boss Mr. Frank T is always very satisfied with their service and loves that he never needs to wait. We always get an appointment when we need it. They are great!

The care and service that I received at Southernmost Foot & Ankle was excellent. The staff at the reception desk were cordial and helpful, and I was seen on time for my three appointments. Dr. Makimaa and his staff were wonderful and treated me for two issues: glass in the sole of one foot, and totally unrelated, a pinky toenail that had to be removed to prevent infection. Both issues were treated and resolved. I was very happy with my experience at this office. Thank you once again to the wonderful staff!

BEST IN THE KEYS!!!! Last year, I fractured my right ankle and almost one year to the day later, I fractured by left foot! I have not one negative word or thought about this office, its staff or services. I happened to have had a lot going on in my personal life while visiting 2-3 times a week for the last 2 months. Not once did I feel rushed, dismissed or overlooked. Just as important, I never felt I was a pain or inconvenience (and I know I was at least a a time or two). Today I am two feet on the floor in the best walking shoes I have ever owned - recommended by Dr. Makimaa (Brooks) - thank you. Next year, I buying bubble wrap BUT might stop by to say hello.
