Capt. Hook's Dive Key West

I’ve been diving with Capt. Hook’s Key West for 4 years and now consider them like family. They are super friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I got both my open water and advanced open water certifications through Capt. Hook’s and can’t wait to take more courses! Max, Charles, and David (and Garrett although he moved out of the area) are some of the coolest and most helpful people in the shop.
I had the pleasure of taking my first dive trip to Roatan through Capt. Hook’s and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone who is considering a dive trip to GO FOR IT! It was such an amazing experience! Max did a phenomenal job at organizing and communicating details of this trip, answering questions, and even went out of his way to create checklists so we didn’t miss anything. We didn’t know what to expect from our first dive trip but now look forward to booking the next one. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves! Thank you Capt. I completed 6 dives with this shop and I have nothing but positive reviews for the entire crew. Sam and Kendrick were talented dive masters and led our dives so smoothly. As a solo diver I was thankful for their communication and leadership. I would recommend anyone to Captain Hooks dive shop. They know how to take care of you!

Hello !!! I did my open water last year with David Hinkley and it was phenomenal! I also came back this year to get my advanced open water from David and it was awesome!! I was able to go wreck diving and David was very cautious and I felt super safe with him. He made all of the material in the course easy to understand! Overall great experience! Would highly recommend David as a dive instructor!

Great Day! David makes learning underwater diving skills exceptionally fun and easy. He spends time explaining and demonstrating them. Make sure to request for David. I look forward to learning more from this Great instructor.

My husband and I tried snorkeling experience for the first time in key west and we couldn’t be more satisfied with Captain Hook’a dive center! The crew was amazing: CJ, Henry, David and Captain Rick made this trip fun and easy. The places to see were awesome, the time flew fast, we enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you! Will be back to get our diving certificates 👍🏼 definitely recommend

Had a fantastic dive experience with captain hook’s team. Booked dive for two days (Friday reef day, Saturday Vanderberg wreck dive). Reef dive in the afternoon has spectacular visibility, felt like we were diving in an aquarium. 2 tank wreck done the next day didn’t have as much visibility but getting the swim through experience was fantastic. Dive master CJ was a great guide on both days. Clearly explained everything and was very attentive. Kendrick and captain Rick were great as well, very helpful getting on and off the boat, making sure everything was safe and good to go. Cole helped out on or reef dive day as well. Overall awesome team and would definitely book them again. Also their dive shop carries Grateful Diver gear and you have to nab one of those if you haven’t already.

We had a great time with Captain Hooks for the 15th Vandiversary. Divemaster Tyler was super nice and made sure we were well prepared for the dives. Henry’s hospitality was great as he checked in with everyone and made sure everyone felt welcomed. The Vandiversary event was awesome with complimentary meals, tshirts, and events going on throughout the day. Henry talked us into the event a few weeks prior and we are happy we joined!

Took the Discover Scuba course with Rob and had so much fun learning and out on the water with Captain Rick and Sam as well. My husband needed a refresher so joined the same course and made it work for both of us. Rob was a fantastic teacher, very patient, knowledgeable and provided encouragement when needed. Wish I could have stayed in Key West to get certified with Rob. Highly recommend Captain Hooks all around!

I had an amazing experience learning to dive with these guys. My instructor Wayne was so patient, funny, and very knowledgeable. During my open water i also had Victoria and Capt Rick you couldn't ask for a better crew. They're fun and full of so much respect. Thank you guys!

Called and scheduled a dive for the next day. Great boat! Great guides! We already had certificates just wanted to see cool things and they showed us so much! Great trip!

Went snorkeling with this place while some of my friends went diving. The team was excellent and we had an incredible time. It was definitely a stand out for our trip to the keys and I can't recommend them enough. Cpt Malcom, Henry, and Tyler all did an awesome job!

My brother and I trained with Henry for Advanced Open Water, great teacher, fun dude. Captain Hooks crews are always awesome. Captain Malcom is cool, and Megan and Henry were having fun on the boat!

This is my second review for the Captain Hooks Dive Shop enterprise, the first was for the Marathon location back in 2018.

Returned from a wreck dive today (Cayman Salvager) as well as a reef trip. As I understand it, most trips have two dives. I have used this outfit a couple of times now, because they are consistent with their service, and deliver it well! They are safety conscientious, want you to have an enjoyable time and want it to be an experience that you will want to repeat in the future. The crew, Captain Zach, Henry, Max, Chris were outstanding. The store staff was also very polite, professional and helpful in getting me my equipment (all in very good condition) making sure it fit properly, as well as giving me a briefing on its operation. Henry, our DM, took the time to point things out, kept a close watch on us, and even point out a hammer head to the other divers (my dive buddy and I unfortunately missed it). While we can all agree, this is a very enjoyable profession and immerses you in an incredible environment, these guys worked hard, and kept reminding us that “we” were on vacation and that they would do all the work. They did all the work! Thanks to all of you for a great day! See you again soon!

I had a great experience. The owner Henry was very helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. The Divemasters Max, Rob and Vince were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Rick the Capt was a pleasure to talk to. The dives were great. I am a customer for life.

26 Jan 2022 - very professional crew. Malcolm as Capt, Sydnie as 1st Mate and Rob as Divemaster. Wonderful, hospitable service. Boat itself was a bit shabby w no head or much cover but the experience more than made up for it!!

This place is awesome! My wife and I went here for her birthday and diver Dave did an absolutely great job helping her overcome her fears and after we got done she was really happy he was able to guide us through our first dives! The ocean floor is a whole different world and only through his help were we able to enjoy it. Look forward to coming back to get certified one day....

Had a great dive with the crew at captain hooks. We dove the cayman salvage wreck which was incredible. Was originally bummed we couldn’t dive the vandenberg wreck but what a pleasant surprise how cool the cayman was. Our Divemaster Sam was great, funny and very personable. He showed us some cool marine life and guided two super enjoyable dives. Great dive operation, professional, well organized, great gear, great staff and a nice spacious dive boat operated by cpt Rick who was great to talk to. Will definitely dive with this crew again.

We had a fantastic experience with Captain Hook's in Key West. Dive Master Rob was amazing and ensured safety from the minute we stepped onto the boat. Rob gave a very detailed pre-dive briefing and ensured all divers were comfortable and informed regarding the dives we were going to preform. While the visibility was poor, Rob and the rest of the crew did their best to ensure we had the best experience possible. If we are back in Key West I will happily dive with Captain Hooks anytime.
