Housing Authority of the City of Key West

I an have lived in K.W.H.A. at Porter Place for nearly 20 years now and have never had a Problem with them calling me back so I don't know why the reviews on here about them are so Negative. Plus, The Maintenance workers are the best in Key West. In the rear event that I need them to fix something in my apartment they come fix it immediately. In fact I just called Maintenance this morning at 10:24 am and the Maintenance guys came and fixed my problem by 11:15 am. They are All very Professional and polite. I think they all deserve a raise.

I moved to Poinciana a couple years ago and I love it. Everyone in the KWHA is really nice. The maintenance department is exceptional. Anytime I have a problem they fix it promptly.

Sometime People like thing happen the way they want and not the way suppose to be, The housing authority is a federal program to help the need of people in this case person whit age of 62 or older, I don't think Anyone in the administration or any Employee Have any benefit to deny anyone the opportunity to lived in this building' On april 04/2019 I something my application for two person and i being inform that my application was accepted and putting on the whiting list I wait my turn like every one out and on March 06/2021 i moved to one of the apartment Now as every one know you has to qualify in order to your application be accepted, The reason i wright this is because some body make comment implying that you has to know someone in orden to be accepted, I thank everyone that work in this apartment complex for the wonderful job every one Doe

You maintenance guys are terrific. Had my thermostat replaced in a jiffy. Wish I had had some cash on hand for a fat tip!

Looking forward to living in Key West.... now in Naples, formerly in Fort Lauderdale and in Sarasota . Already smiling about the move. See you soon

I called and emailed and received responses on both, they told me that there was a wait for around 2 years, and sent the applications to me in the mail, no problems at all. UPDATE: It is now October 26, 2020 and I moved from #329 to #171 so it is taking a lot longer than 2 years....I am concerned about some of the reviews and plan on driving down to talk to people in the courtyards at 1400 Kennedy Drive.

If you put in an application here, keep checking with them and make sure you submit an updated version every year.

ever time i go to the office to talk to the manager, they always ignore me saying that the manager will call me if i leave my phone number. i went there 4 times and gave them my number and i never got a call. i told them that i need help with my list. at the end i never got help.

Nobody even returns my calls. I’ve left voicemail several times but to no avail. How can they say nothing? Especially when our lives hang in the balance?

I have been calling since 3 days and all they say is call emergency and then we call emergency and they say call maintenance and it keeps going around especially when it’s my ac that is not working I have 3 kids and I have a 3 year old and I call them and say can you help with the ac they say I Can’t
the maintenance is not here and that is not my problem

The entire agency is a disgrace. They’re taking on more properties when they can’t handle OR refuse to acknowledge the deplorable conditions of these properties. Same doors since the 1940’s, mail slots, gaps wasting energy and welcoming bugs in the units, rats, they slap a coat of paint over ROTTING wood, windows sealed shut, mold growing in units staff from top to bottom ARE completely unprofessional, rude, will NOT provide PUBLIC information. Whoever said they live porter place 20 years and has no issues, must be unconscious or blind
