I’m super late on posting this, but mom brain ❤ Cake by the Lake did 3 amazing Alice in Wonderland themed birthday cakes for my daughter’s 1st Birthday. Two were single tiered smash cakes (one for birthday party, one for actual birthday) and one was a two tier cake to serve. All were red velvet. They were all gorgeous and thought through. We also ordered frosted cookies. There was zero disappointment. I wish I had taken better/more pictures.

I called the day of my daughters birthday party for a cake to feed 25. They accommodated my theme and without hesitation made me a cake the same day along with cupcakes. I don’t know if this cake was fresh or refrigerated but it was AMAZING! Everybody loved it! and i was telling everyone where i went! Thank you for working with us and giving us your best! I will be coming back to this little place. ❤

My daughters asked for an Elsa castle for their birthday cake and they delivered a beautiful cake! It looked almost too good to eat! Good thing we did eat it though, because it was delicious.

Visited today and brought home a few slices of cake. The carrot cake is simply divine! I loved it! Wife had confetti cake and said it was really good. We also had a slice of chocolate which was super rich and delicious. I will visit again to try some of their other confections. Staff was friendly, service was fast! Thanks!

My kids love this place. The cookies are big so it makes it #1 for them. The cakes are a perfect blend of moist and sweet. They make little goodies bags that are delicious also! So yummy

We love Cake by the Lake and been frequent customers since their opening! We’ve tried so many things and they’re all so delicious and fresh. Some personal favorites are the peanut butter cookies, chocolate cake, and French silk pie! You honestly can’t go wrong with anything you get. The best dessert in the Belton/Temple area. (Plus delicious breakfast items on Saturdays!) Highly recommended whether you’re swinging by for a slice or placing an order!

I ordered a cake for my daughter's 15th birthday and not only was it beautiful but it was Soo delicious 😋 and moist!!! (Strawberry was the flavor) Worth the price.

The cake was absolutely delicious and a huge hit. I kept needed to change the order as my daughter’s birthday guest list was increasing and they were very understanding and worked with me. Definitely will be purchasing another cake next year!

Love Cake by the Lake! I called in an order for an office party to have some desserts. They made festive cookies, cupcakes, and brownies. So delicious!

I was needing decorated cookies for a baby shower and Cakes by the Lake came through for me! The cookies were so adorable and they were also delicious. We didn’t have to worry with left over’s because they were all gone by the end of the party. Thank you all, for helping to make our celebration wonderful!

I got the half vanilla, half chocolate cake for my senior recital at UMHB about a month ago and it was AMAZING!! It could not have been more perfect. It looked absolutely beautiful and tasted GREAT!!! My guests loved it and many thought it was homemade! I 100% recommend this place for any occasion.

Athena went above n beyond in making my son’s birthday cake very special !! The carrot cake was simply delicious!! Great creativity with the weight lifting theme on our teenager!!

Absolutely fabulous! The frosting was smooth and not overly sweet, the cake was moist and tasty! 10 out of 10, I would definitely get a cake here again!

The charcuterie platter was so yummy. We decided to get a slice of chocolate cake to try and oh my goodness... it was seriously the best! I'm mad I didn't buy the whole cake haha! Check them out for sure!

I had two last minute Birthday Celebrations where both of them wanted Carrot Cakes. I happen to call four hours before the first celebration and they were about to make one for their display. My. Nephew loved his carrot cake he had requested so did my hubby. Real moist and frosting not too sweet. Plus everyone loved it also.

Ordered one of their large pies for a family gathering. Oh my, it was one of the best I have ever eaten! Will definitely be back. Other family members love them as well. Love supporting my local mom and pop businesses!

Small, quant, perfect little bakery. I needed a cake last minute and they had a beautiful little almond vanilla that was fantastic. As a caterer, I always recommend them because I've had their cakes at weddings and birthdays. Very friendly and sweet. Support this small business! @overtheplateclasses

Oh my goodness! If you have never been to Cakes by the Lake I encourage you do make a trip there!! They have some of the best scones I've ever had! Everytime I go in there, I just ask them to "start a box" because there are so many yummy things that I end up getting nearly one of everything!!

***Update 06/2023: This is now one of my favorite places for desserts. I have discovered Saturday morning breakfast here and love trying different items. So far my favorites are the chocolate cake, cherry pie, kolaches,and the breakfast pie . So glad I gave this local bakery another try. ****I went in for the first time last month. I was really impressed by the selection and looking forward to trying several things. I got a slice of the confetti, red velvet, and the almond wedding cake. I didn't like the confetti at all. The red velvet was good. The almond wedding cake I wanted to really like but didn't. I think it cost around $5.95 a slice which to me isn't bad. They do have pies as well. I just don't know if I will try them again. I miss having just a bakery like this place where you can get a slice of whatever.
