The Trail House

Stopped in for brunch on Sunday and had a great experience. Food was tasty, good portions and great service. A few kids meals, steak and eggs, breakfast platter and French onion soup. Would come back for sure. The ambiance is chill and sports games on several TVs to enjoy.

Came for lunch for the Labor Day Holiday. Located in the shopping center behind their Starbucks. Was not busy at all, and they had plenty of parking located in their lot. We were seated right away upon arrival. Our waiter was super efficient and friendly (failed to get his name) very attentive and gave great recommendations. I ordered their regular carolina burger with French fries. My sister ordered their French onion soup, pimento but sandwich, and house salad. Their fries were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I'm a French fry person, and these were the best. They were crispy just how I like them and not super hot to where you need to wait till their cold to eat. Burger was delicious as well. The meat felt a bit dry, though, but it didn't bother me too much. Still delicious! Definetly will come back if I'm ever in the area.

Food was good, service and atmosphere was very good. Music set the mood and was good. Enjoyed the food. I will try something else next time so I can talk more about the food. Everyone in the group said their food was good.

Service could have been better. The place was empty. All the servers were in a huddle, carrying on chatting. We sat at the bar for what felt like 5 minutes before being greeted.

Ordered the wings. They were DELICIOUS! Definitely didn't disappoint. Got the key west rub and honey hot. Both great!

Went to The Trail House in Sun Valley (Indian Trail)
Twice this month, didn’t have time to post til now. Great portions, good food, varied menu, service excellent. It’s been consistent! Cannot complain about the prices, very reasonable in our opinion. Just wish they had better parking but if you go when it’s not busy it’s not an issue.

Philly egg rolls (so good we got them again today). Loved the onion rings, Fried shrimp appetizer was great!

Excellent burger, enjoy the asparagus in lieu of fries, their tater tots are really good though!

Had teriyaki pineapple salmon last time, which was good but I think I’ll go grilled next as it was sweet for me.

Today I got the three piece fish and chips versus two, very fresh and large portions!

It needed lemon or a red cocktail sauce to offset the creaminess of the fish. I felt like the white cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, was too creamy.

Again it wasn’t bad, I would’ve enjoyed the contrast in flavors better. Hindsight, should’ve gotten vinegar but I prefer lemon to be honest.

It’s close to home, worth the price, we will be back for sure!

Skylar did a great job. They have a great house salad. I know may think that is crazy to state but really good. Our other food was finished in full also. Cheeseburger Flatbread and Buffalo Grilled cheese. Very nice place.

Server was excellent. He knew the menu to help with our choices. He kept checking on us which is nice to see happen. Our daughter speaks highly of your establishment and I now see why. We hope to receive the same service on our next dine-in.

Our server Jessica was amazing. The atmosphere on Friday night was amazing with a live band.

Unexpectedly I had The Trail House three days in a row and each time I had great food! Twice was delivery for work and once was for lunch. Great food and service! Will definitely be returning!

First time trying The Trail House tonight, and it did not disappoint. Some of the best service in Indian Trail. Food was really great…we tried the Wings and they were delicious! Server was very attentive and another server also checked on us and cleared our plates. Will definitely be returning!

Good food and service, one of our favorites is the Shared plate Dip Trio.

Wonderful food and atmosphere! Kaylee was our waitress and she was fabulous! This was our first time but definitely won't be our last! We had the fried okra, chicken Alfredo, and fish & chips! Everything was delicious!

The hype is real. The food at this place was so amazing. Seriously after every bite I couldn’t help but say wow. Drinks were a little pricey for how little you get but the food more than made up for it. I would definitely recommend the mac and cheese, probably the best I’ve had at any restaurant. Will be returning soon.

Waiter Chad was awesome very fast and personable never meet such a nice waiter. Food was good cookies with ice cream was amazing.

We had a good time. We went to watch the live music Reckless Betty. They were amazing.

Great stop for lunch. Awesome server. Delicious food. I definitely recommend. I had the chicken wrap on recommendation from the server and it was great. Even better with Cajun ranch. The fries were perfectly cooked and very tasty.
I had house salad as well. Pretty good. And I tried the trail house pasta which was delicious too!
Overall cool spot. We will be back.

This was our first time at Trail House. We stopped in after a movie and were very pleased! We loved the shrimp tacos and the Asian beef tips! I appreciated all the good reviews. It helped us decide where to go. And we were not disappointed!

Ok!!!! My first time out in a long time!

We tried a variety of Shared Plates - everything was quite good!

My opinion only - the calamari was a bit chewy it was not tender - but the flavor was fine, texture a bit different than what you would expect from an Italian restaurant calamari experience. That may be what they were shooting for - but the calamari wasn’t tender soft it was over cooked.

However the rest of the food came out fast, quality was totally fine.

I loved the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles! Just all around good quality and good quantity Comfort Food.

Overall?

I highly recommend them for good solid comfort food. Excellent server experience, good price for quantity and quality and they - this is my own personal opinion- they get an A for consistency from me.

Why? Because they have been just that - consistent throughout the pandemic - always erring on the side of caution for their employees even if it meant they lost a few customers.

I saw this time and again in social media the last year+ so while I didn’t eat out? They always put their staff first ahead of anyone not wearing a mask for example. They, yes enforced it and were respectful but consistent. Loved that. (I have loved ones in food service at other establishments)

For ME - maybe not for you? They get my patronage for being courageous and stalwart in spite of criticism for well, whatever reason.

Having said all of that? I’m soooo happy to find that they weathered the storm and kept staff and quality upon coming out of Covid!

We enjoyed all our food, other than texture of calamari the flavor was on point for everything else.

Loved our server - Brianna (my daughter is Brianna am I partial? Maybe 😂)

Highly recommend a meal out to The Trail House for good comfort food, close to home, for a decent price and experience.

We eat here every week, and our favorites include The Trail House Pasta, Mom’s Meatloaf, wings, fish & chips, and now their new Key West Grilled Chicken. The Philly Cheesesteak is the BEST, hands down!!! Their hostesses and wait staff are very friendly, and provide great service!

I've been back 3 times since my initial experience. Raising my rating. Most of the food I have tried has been great quality and very tasty. The service has been friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is what you would expect at a resturant/bar.
