Over the Plate Catering & Cooking Classes

Experience was amazing. Kim was very knowledgeable in all things cooking and baking and made it a very fun time for a birthday party. Definitely recommend this experience for a nice outing with delicious food.

I recently attended an amazing pasta cooking class that I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. From start to finish, it was a delightful experience. The instructor was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, which made the class both informative and engaging. We learned how to make pasta from scratch, and the hands-on approach allowed us to truly immerse ourselves in the process. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Of course, the best part was getting to taste our creations at the end of the class—fresh, delicious pasta that we had made ourselves. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that left me feeling inspired to continue experimenting in the kitchen. I will definitely be returning to this class.

My daughter-in-law joined me for Kim's cooking class, a first for both of us and it exceeded my expectations! Kim is warm and personable, and my DIL and I so enjoyed talking with her.

When I booked the class I assumed we would cook by following step-by-step as the instructor cooked, but after a quick overview of the recipes and some helpful tips from Kim, our teams of 2 couples at each station collaborated and cooked the full course meal by following the recipes on our own.

The relaxed atmosphere was conversational and interactive as we cooked, sipped wine, shared tasks, and lent input preparing our 4 recipes. The 3 hours flew by and I enjoyed our communal meal at the end with all 12 guests at the long dining table so very much! The conversation and laughter while meeting new people over good food and wine along with someone I love was a wonderful new experience.

A true gem, right here in Temple! A few friends and I attended the August Mama Mia cooking class Kim held and had an amazing time. Everything was well organized and executed from start to finish and our whole group thoroughly enjoyed the recipes and food. We are definitely looking forward to being able to attend another one soon!

We celebrated my father in laws 80th birthday and had a wonderful time making our own dinner with the family. If you're always wanting to try something new this is the place to try. It brought the family together and we made outer entire meal including fresh made pasta. A great way to spend an evening with friends and family. Give them a try l, Kim was the best host.

So much fun & would highly recommend! My two boys (10 & 12) were a little skeptical when I told them I signed them up for cooking classes - especially my 12 yr old who was totally embarrassed - but they had a great time after the first class and were definitely looking forward to going back to their second class! They made cake pops in their first class and sushi in another - they walked away with smiles and so excited they learned a new skill. We all agreed Kim is so kind, patient & “a great teacher” (as the boys described her when we got in the car). I stayed to watch the class and it was fun to see kids walk in as strangers and within a few minutes talk to each other as old friends - she creates such a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. My boys are excited for their next class and I can’t wait to sign up for her adult classes! Thanks for such a fun experience Kim!

We celebrated my dad’s 80th birthday with Kim. She walked us through each recipe and made everything so delightful. Perfect for groups big and small. Definitely recommend!!

We had our 10 year old girl’s birthday party here. The 7 girls did a cooking class. It was perfect! All the girls had so much fun. Super chill and easy and very hands on. Kim was great!

My 10-year-old daughter and I had so much fun at Over the Plate! Kim is an amazing, personable chef who was patient and kind. We really enjoyed her quick tips and tricks in the kitchen. We felt like we were at a close friend's house for dinner. The class is reasonably priced, the recipes were realistic and tasty, and all the ingredients were of high quality. We even had leftovers! We definitely plan on attending classes in the future!

We had a great time at the Oktoberfest cooking class! Kim was awesome & helpful, guiding us through the class and had a substitute option for our Gluten Free dietary need! The food was great & the experience was wonderful! We will definitely be back!

My son attended the asian cooking class. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He was so excited that he made dinner for us that night! He is looking forward to another class. He gained some confidence in the kitchen and came home all smiles!! Thank you!

My wife and I had Kim (Over the Plate) cater our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better experience and meal. All of our guests had great things to say about the food - delicious! If you're in need of a caterer for your next event, I cannot recommend Kim (Over the Plate) enough.

This place is so fun for groups, couples, or just an individual go to meet new people and make new food. I love the menu variety so you can catch different meals. Kim is so fun and friendly and has a cute little kitchen and dining room! Worth every $

Our daughter in law and fiancee chose Over the Plate for catering their wedding. The good was exceptional as well as the service from the first contact in planning the menu, taste testing to the night of the wedding. We had many compliments from the guests on the food. We could not have been happier and will never consider anyone else when we need catering again in the future. Absolutely exceptional!

Beautiful atmosphere. Wonderful home and kitchen. Our friendly group made it special. The food was outstanding. Kim was an excellent teacher and host.

Top notch experience. My husband surprised me with a date night at this charming farm house in Temple, TX. The owner and chef was friendly, knowledgable, and welcoming.
We did the Caribbean night menu. The recipes were easy to follow and everything was provided. We even were allowed to go off-script by adding a glaze to the banana fritters. A must try.

We had such a great time! Kim is a fabulous hostess and patient teacher. Well organized, fun, and delicious. Definitely will be back!

What a fun venue! Kim's kitchen is well organized with thoughtful preparation and great recipes. Taken three classes now and I'm going back. Highly recommend.
