Brookdale Western Hills senior living center is accommodating my mother very well as she has been there for the last year&1/2. We are excited that she is well taken care of and we are thankful for the staff in their abilities for my mothers need for assisted-living. Thanks Brookdale

After exposure to several companies in Temple Texas, Brookdale far exceeds the competition in their price range!

The Director, Lisa. She is the biggest two faced liar there, She tries to get new residents into this facility with selling them lies, and these lies effect the employees. Residents expect way too much from employees even though we went above and beyond for them because Lisa tells them we can do all this stuff. But us employees can not care for 42 residents with only 2 staff on the floor, we ran ragged and not all the residents cant get the care they need because there isn't much time on top of all the work and extra work that upper management puts on us. (Specially when there is only 1 med tech and 1 person on the floor so basically that one person on the floor takes care of 42 residents by themselves.) Now lets move onto the nurse, Sabreena. She is the "nurse" but her duties include sitting at her desk on her phone and making the employee schedule. When she really has a load is when she actually has to leave the office and go do "nurse things" with the residents. (She even puts this on us sometimes) The nurse is another two faced liar (Sabreena and Lisa cover each other and cover up lies and make up lies). Sabreena has even taken narco medication from one resident and gave it to another, when medication has came up missing she covers it up, and all this is against policy which could make her loose her license and can be considered stealing. But she is quick to write you up if you do something simple wrong. She even lies to family members of the residents.
Lisa and Sabreena are quick to through a smile in your face but soon as you walk away they talk about you behind your back. I have witnessed Lisa talking to us employees and the residents about other residents that should of been kept private. One resident moved in with her dog, Lisa did not like her at all. She tried everything in her power to get her kicked out. The resident finally got fed up and left. After, Lisa talked to a resident that had been the other residents friend. Lisa told him that he needed to cut contact with her and telling him the "real" reason why she was kicked out. Lisa just didn't like her because someone actually challenged and stood up to Lisa and this was not gonna fly with her. Lisa telling the residents to stop talking to his friend hurt his feelings and needed comforting because she stressed him about it. Lisa and Sabreena put way too much work on the employees and when they cant finish everything they write you up for it, when they claim they can do the care associate job. When I had both of them come to me and ask me how to do certain common task that any normal care associate should know. If they see something that needs to be done like taking the trash out, they will look at it walk across the entire building to tell you that the trash is full when they could easily of picked the bag up and bring it to the big trash can on the same side they had to walk to get to tell you the trash is full or if certain task they seen need to be done and see your busy. (I know its our job, but they talk about how of a "team" we are.) But they act like they are better then employees because they sit at a desk. We are the employees that deserve credit for the job we do, we actually work hands on with the residents that are there we become their friends, we build trust with them, we bathe them, change their briefs, we get pretty personal with the residents and not every resident needs the same care, some need more then others and some not so much. Its just crazy how the residents pay all this money to stay there and to get taken care of when the Care associates do not benefit from it at all, Lisa and Sabreena do. They just know them from their files not from actually talking to them. They are not managers, if they did why do they have such a high turnover rate? Employees stay if the managers encourage them to stay. Its not fair to the residents. I wouldn't put my family members here and I have worked here. Only good people that work here is Robbie and the kitchen staff, their amazing.
