Children's Mental Health Services

After more than five years of mental health issues and over a dozen inpatient treatment admissions in two years, we had almost given up hope for my 11 year old daughter. Then we heard about MHMR for my husband. While treating there he learned there was a children's department, so we immediately applied for help with my daughter's schizophrenia and my 13 year old son's autism. This organization has been an answer to a prayer! We have had great experiences with Vincent, Susan, Mary, Dr. S, Misty Vacka, and Darren. These are hard working, caring, warm, helpful people. Susan has been available to me to answer countless questions and is a wealth of knowledge. Vincent has been an angel for our family in his guidance and support. For the first time in our entire journey and after two years of crisis, I feel like we finally have an outpatient treatment team who has rallied around our family to help us with our daughter's care. I have hope we can give her extended time at home instead of in facilities. While we know it's likely she will need inpatient treatment in the future as that's the nature of the disorder, I am hopeful we will have clear communication to help her transition there and back.
