Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream

By fluke we stopped in here for lunch on our way to Savanah. So glad we did! Delicious! HUGE portions! LOW prices - unbelievable really. HUGE slices of tomatoes on burger, HUGE burger, size of fries was enormous! The old fashion atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend for inexpensive Delicious lunch - they had so many ice cream flavors that were not run of the mill! Service was top notch!

Stopped in here after a day downtown- we live in CHS but have never been! I was shocked by the sheer amount of food we got for $25 (one double burger, one combo with single burger, fries, and a drink- trust me one basket of fries is enough!)! The food was good and delivered in a timely manner- don’t come in expecting fancy bespoke gourmet food like downtown CHS- that’s not what this place is about and I think that’s cool! The burgers were HUGE and all the toppings were fresh and prepared after we ordered. The burgers were good as well- these are greasier American burgers but I didn’t find the grease overwhelming and it didn’t take away from the taste/experience. The place was clean and the service was cordial. Restaurants don’t survive here unless they are offering something good and this place checks that box.
Free pickle with your Sundae if pregnant was a nice little niche touch. We will be back.

Made a stop for afternoon ice cream and this did not disappoint. An xtra large is huge and you can get flour flavors for $9.30 with tax. Great to share for two people. We had cherry, Michigan pothole, coffee and moose tracks. All were delicious. Many people around us were eating their lunches and they looked very good and people seemed happy. I will come here when visiting again. They have nice seating inside and a drive thru that was very busy

I ordered the special 1: chicken salad Sammy with tomato and lettuce, potato salad and a jr scoop (which filled the cup). My man ordered the hamburger by itself and a side of fries add chili. We both enjoyed all the food and the fast service, they ladies work with love. The chili had beans from the taste of it but we really liked that. 😊 very pleased.

The entire family enjoyed the ice cream and food. Great experience.

Amazing ice cream!! So far on my list of all the ice cream I’ve tried this place is still the best!! We will totally be back. You definitely get your moneys worth. We got Cookie Monster and Java chunk.

I love this place. There are so many options and normally not enough time to eat here and at all the other wonderful restaurants in Charleston. It is a perfect spot for lunch or a delicious budget friendly dinner, dessert, and nostalgia.

Good diner. We stopped for ice cream late at night. So we didn't taste the other food. But the atmosphere was a cool diner and I would go again

Great food and service. The place is in need of a reno. I hope they do a nice reno sometime. So the service and food are matched nicely with the building.

You can’t go wrong with their ice cream. Although I wish it was cheaper.

Absolutely hands down best place to eat if you’re around the area! Super welcoming staff, very friendly, and prices are super good for the amount of food you receive, already gone here 2 times in our trip so far!

I wish I could receive great customer service every where I go as this experience! I just left rivers avenue location and the young gentleman was friendly! He was very patient with me while I was trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. He recommended many different choices and I settled for the burger and fries! And boy I wasn’t disappointed! And the staff moved quickly. The food was nice and fresh! The tables were clean with no food or debris on the floor! I can’t wait to return!

This place is packed every time you drive past so I had to try it. My husband’s family is from the area so he sent a lot of his childhood having ice cream from this shop. I kinda wish we were going for food also because the food looked and smelled great. (Next trip) ice cream was so good even down to the sugar cone everything very fresh, ice cream smooth and creamy.

Omg!!! Can I tell you this was one of the best ice cream cones I have ever had. We were on vacation and decided to stop for some ice cream. Well all I can say is that if you are ever in the area of Charleston, SC you must stop by and give them a try. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.

This ice cream shop is the best. Has that old school feel and the scoops are generous. The burgers are delicious as well. The banana split is at least a 3 person dessert...

Big change here on rivers ave😀 I visited this location about a year and few months and was told by the server I could not be served because she was only serving the Spanish speaking people even though she spoke English😵‍💫 so I called back and questioned the manager about the policy and I think he passed out.😀 But today there is a new staff very friendly and professional.👍🏾

You can't go wrong with a nice sit down ice cream place especially with this variety of ice creams, and they definitely don't skimp on the serving sizes, I actually recommend you get a size smaller than you are thinking of if not just a small in general as the medium can almost be shared between two people.

Went thru drive through.. lengthy wait..great shakes and fries..2 small shakes and a order of fries..20.00. ..19.50 to be precise.

Went today for mother's day... I know, I know... should've been more fancy! But this girl was craving a hot dog and some ice cream! Definitely recommend the footlong hot dog all the way!

Bacon, Bacon and more Bacon, Every item, BLT, Bacon Burger and Chef Salad were large and delicious, came back for ice cream. Again, did not disappoint. Great old place to eat.
