Glenns Creek is a unique and enjoyable experience. We were not sure what to expect and had read several good reviews. We sat with the owner who shared great stories, history and information about the industry amd their product. We enjoyed the conversation, it was a nice break in the stream of standarized tours at most distilleries.
Post update: we brought family back this time and everyone Loved Glenn's Creek.
We visited 10 distilleries on this tour with my in laws and at the end Glenns Creek experience was our favorite. Thank you! We walked away with several bottles that we are excited to share with family and friends.

I first visited here in October of 2020. I returned several times since. We just did the experience yesterday with David. The 800 pound gorillas of bourbon producers get a lot of attention from folks visiting the bourbon trail. You will never get a chance to talk to Col. Taylor, pappy van winkle or Margie Samuels but you can meet someone that combines their best qualities. Also makes a damn fine product that you can only buy there, you truly love bourbon this place is a must stop. You will not be disappointed Cuervito Vivo!

Really enjoyed the tastings with one of their distillers. He explained everything and took lots of questions and did a wonderful job. Truly enjoyed myself there. I like how everything is a single barrel and is done on a small scale. Truly unique, I can't wait to get back. Everyone was so friendly and nice.

Like a musician who performs an emotional song they wrote, Dave and his team bring all the emotions and love they have for bourbon and the bourbon making process to the tasting bar. This truly is a place for those that love and appreciate everything that goes into creating an exceptional bourbon. Pull up a stool and listen for awhile while you sip some of the best pours you have ever had. The historical tour was such a blast as well. We will be back.

It's a sharp contrast from the remodeled facility at Castle and Key, looking more like something from the apocalypse. Ignore that, what Castle and key lacks in any heart to the whiskey, Glenns Creek more than makes up for it. A small little tasting area where we got a very knowledgeable woman to explain in depth the mash bills and maturation of the whiskey. Worth it, ignore the glamour next door and come here.

Unlike any other distillery experience: sit with the owner/master distiller and learn about the history of the distillery and sample several of their whiskeys. Personal, intimate and down to earth, Dave is naturally funny and very entertaining, and this was a terrific experience. A++++++++++

Paid for a tasting with the master distiller. Was an educational and interesting experience. Location was cool on the grounds of what historically was the Old Crow distillery. Price was very reasonable. Would recommend

SO MUCH FUN! Laid back, quaint and questionable. You won’t regret this one. A tasting with the distillers is where the fun begins. No smoke and magic shows, down to earth fun and conversation. Definitely off the beaten path yet right I’m the heart of Glenn’s Creek area.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT! Your place in right on the beaten path! Tucked right there along the creek. I guess I’m trying to say it’s a diamond in the rough! We had the best time at your place compared to all other 5 distilleries we visited. Thank you for many memories.

We have been here twice now in the last 3 weeks. Vicky is fantastic I love her wit. I love the history of this property and of course I love old architecture. I would love to be able to tour the grounds and see some of the other buildings. This last weekend we saw that the master distiller David was on site but he was in a private tour or I would have loved to have him sign a bottle! This is a quality craft micro-distillery putting out one barrel a day!

Great experience/tasting. David was an awesome host who is clearly passionate about his product. The history of the building just adds to the total value. I am glad we went off the beaten path for this one, just wish I had more room in my luggage.

It’s what bourbon is meant to be… hand-crafted, single barrel, barrel strength delicious nectar. Thank you, David and Vicki, for time well spent during the Private Distiller Experience on Tuesday. It was my third visit to Glenn's Creek but my first steps behind the velvet rope. We talked about mash bills, history, pot stills, small batches, creativity, experiments, successes, failures and new ideas. We spent time walking through and being shown the entire life cycle of creating bourbon in one of the oldest distilleries in Kentucky. David took the time to share not only the hows of what goes on but also the whys of the way they do it. And it becomes apparent once you get into the bottles. The samples were absolutely fantastic. Each label offers a unique flavor profile and it's truly a tasting "experience". I took home as many bottles as I could carry and some honey (yeah... get the honey...). And thank you for taking the time to sign the bottles. 👍. Very nice and appreciated touch.

Thanks again for the hospitality…

This was my second visit. My wife and I brought all our adult children and had a wonderful time. I made sure to take them to one of the fancier, modern distilleries first. I wanted them to see how down-to-earth bourbon was made.

As before, David was fantastic in guiding the tour and his knowledge of bourbon and straightforward explanation of the process was very enlightening.

The history of the old distillery is fantastic. As an added surprise, we got to meet Bob the former superintendent and master distiller for Old Crow.

This is the best tour in bourbon country and the spirits are exceptional.

Great small pot still distillery. John was great with the dad jokes and spirits information. This is a must stop for a quick tasting. Loved the wheated bourbon. What it lacks in fancy walking tours it makes up for in quirky charm.

So nice and refreshing to visit a distillery like this. Was able to checkout the area and this one was a favorite for me. Wish we could get these in Virginia but more than happy to take the 9 hour drive to support good business. 🥃

We visited Glenns Creek today and were really impressed. Our experience was with the owner Dave and we had great conversations about bourbon and more. The tastings were incredible. Really. Left with a bottle of OCD, and the Tequila which was butterscotch smooth. Dave is a great guy who will tell you exactly what he thinks. It is very obvious you are talking with an artist who loves what he does. My wife is not a bourbon fan and she had a great time. We will definitely be back for another visit the next time we are in the area!

Great experience. If you want a bourbon that has its own unique flavor this is the place to go. The owner distills, bottles and serves his bourbon. He is very hands on and makes a great product. The most authentic bourbon experience I have found in Kentucky. We did a tasting and had a great time talking to the owner and hearing how Glenn’s Creek got started.

We really enjoyed the tasting at Glenn's Creek and it was well worth trip down to see it. We bought more bourbon than we planned at that stop and have enjoyed the ones we've opened immensely. Dave was a great host and his frankness and honesty were greatly appreciated.

In among all of the bright, shiny, big, and impressive distilleries is this AWESOME gem!! We had just visited Castle and Key and left pretty unimpressed with the interactions and spirits. Thank goodness we found Glenns Creek and Vicky! This distillery and Vicky was one of our top 2 distillery experiences and tastings that we did out of the 10-12 that we visited. They are doing bourbon and whiskey the way it should be done. Vicky is very knowledgeable and friendly. She banters with the best of them and she knows her stuff. The spirits are very good and not the traditional recipe that you get everywhere else. I only bought two bottles because my suitcase couldn't carry more but this will be our first stop on the next trip. I don't know that I would call this a craft distillery like we have in Colorado, but it is most definitely a labor of love instead of a labor of sales and numbers and popularity like most of the other distilleries. Be sure that you have Glenns Creek on your route so you can get bourbon the way it should be!

What a great visit to Glenns Creek Distillery! We visited several distilleries on a day trip to Frankfort, but spending an hour with Dave was our favorite experience. Learning from his knowledge of both bourbon history and the process for making bourbon was super informative and fun. And then there's the amazing bourbon!

Great stop on our trip down the bourbon trail. Did the visitor experience, tasted some fantastic and unique whiskeys. David (the owner) was really entertaining and fun to talk to. There's nothing else quite like it, so don't be put off by the rough exterior. I am so glad we stopped by - couldn't have got those bottles in my state. Really fine whiskey - looking forward to enjoying the bottles I purchased when I get home.
