Probably the best things I’ve done during my trip in North Wales. You have a wonderful view going up and down during one hour each way.
We book the 9am service as it was a bit cheaper. Totally worth the value. You have to be there 30min early to collect the ticket.
Each train carriage is for 8 people. And you will be assigned a carriage (it’s written on your ticket). You might want to queue as soon as you have your tickets to get a window set.
The view at the top is amazing. I loved being up there. The only big downside is you have only 30 minutes before the train departs. It’s too bad because you could spend at least 2 hours at the top.
If you’re in good shape, I would advice coming up by train but coming down by foot.
Once down there is a souvenir shop. It’s a bit expensive but there is some nice things.

Had a great experience. Going up to the Snowdon mountain summit on steam engine from the 1890’s was amazing. 1 hour uphill and 1 hour for return. 30 minute stop at the summit to explore and enjoy the view from the summit. Total 2.5 hour round trip. Breathtaking views from the summit and also on the way up. We also enjoyed the drive from Betws Y Coed to Llanberis. It’s an amazing drive through the pass.

This place is a must if you are a train spotter, and love trains, either Diesal, or steam to see.
I totally loved the whole experience and had wanted to do this trip for years, and at weekend 30th September 2023 I finally did, it was breathtaking, the views, waving to walkers, watching the train, as I was at the very back of the carriage was second to none absolutely gorgeous fantastic experience and want to keep coming back to do the same trip time and time again.
Sadly though it was very misty at the top, and the train pulls in to the cafe area, and you go out the other end of the cafe to see the sights or the summit, as to which I did, as you can't come all the way up which takes 1hr each way and back, and a 30mins stop at the top before you decent.
I did feel on top of the world. A must do in anyone's bucket list.

Wonderful way to get to the top for those unable or uninterested in taking the walk. Slow train, takes an hour each way.
Amazing views up and down and time to reach the summit and have a cuppa at the top.
Pre booking is a must! Especially during school holidays and weekends.

Great service, amazing views, unfortunately at top it was cloudy but still great experience. Worth to combine with hiking, we were not prepared for that

The walk from Llanberis to summit is a challenging 10 miles. The train takes one hour each way. Marvelous mountain views in the trip. You get about 30 minutes at the summit. It's fairly expensive, but worth it.

Fun railway trip. Great views at the top. It's hard to time these things but it's better on a clear-ish day. There's a cafe and toilets at the summit. We went in September and it was quite busy at the top with walkers, a queue had formed at the very top of the summit.

It's bench seats on the train and you are sat there for an hour so bear that in mind if you have mobility issues. Make sure to arrive nice and early to find parking and to pick up your tickets — we got there 10 minutes before departure and that was cutting it really fine.

A great experience, even the mist at the top of the mountain couldn't spoil it.

The train ride was lovely. We took the steam train which gave the trip a more historic feel. Be prepared that the clouds will cover the top of the mountain but the trip has some stunning views which include a waterfall and a few breathtaking valleys. Enjoy the sheep scurrying away as the train goes by. Cafe and restrooms at the top. There is a climb to get to the actual top of the mountain. Stone steps will need to be climbed. Otherwise enjoy the view from the visitors center.

The tickets were selling out fast, even in October so I’d definitely recommend booking in advance.

Great day on the railway up Snowdon. Great views as was a sunny day. Staff freindly and welcoming. Good price. Book online a good idea. Cafe and gift shop at bottom and top. Recommended

It’s worth the money when you can’t walk to the Summit. Only 30minutes at the top, so that was a stressful rush and queueing, so couldn’t really see much else.
It was a fun and exciting journey, lots of views, even in a fog.
That was a beautiful experience overall.
