Beautiful views. Very whimsical and suited for lovers who enjoy to go to the library when it’s raining or you just like nature. However it is best to go on a sunny day and to wear sunglasses as the sun bounces off the water. You get a chance to take photos when the train reaches its end. The conductor is a jolly man who used to be a principal (if I remember correctly). On the plus side, they do a family ticket (2 kids and 2 adults) very affordable. You’re allowed to bring dogs on board and there is a tuck shop which sales snake including hot drinks.

Had a great experience on Llanberis lake railway. Worth a trip on the small steam-engine train. Its a nice trip along the lake for around twenty minutes and back.

Great little railway. Visited off peak (weekday in September) and a single steam train was still running! Staff were friendly, train was smart and well presented and the journey was amazing, shame about the Welsh weather though! Dogs allowed (£2) and an adult return (£10) was well priced too!

Cute train journey near a lake. It’s lasts around 1 hour and the view is beautiful. The staff on the train is very friendly.
There is several departures each day. Check on their website the timetable to not wait too much time at the station.
The ticket is quite cheap, it’s great value for money!

Lovely day out. Beautiful views, very reasonably priced, traditional carriage per family and dog friendly.
Train driver was very friendly and stopped a couple of times giving us photo opportunities and chance to grab a drink from the picnic spot

School holidays so had 2 of our grandsons for the day. Both love trains so we looked for somewhere we hadn't been before to take them. The boys loved the train & scenic route along the lake. Lovely cafe there too with a range of both cooked meals & snacks etc all reasonably priced. No doubt we will return again in the summer 🌞

Nice little railway. We turned up and opted for the 12:15 train. The station entrance/ticket sales area was clean and tidy, the gift shop well stocked and the cafe had seating indoors and out.
There is a play area for the children on the platform, along with a display shed which shows the history of the line.
Each coach compartment of the train is sectioned off with plexiglass. The seats are wooden and your round trip journey will take about 1 hour.
There are some superb views over the lake and of Snowdon.
The staff are friendly and approachable.
I would recommend a visit, not only for the scenery, but also for the sight, sound, and smell of an age gone by.

Had a lovely ride along the old slate railway by the side of Lake Padarn with spectacular views across to Snowdon. Reasonably priced and the friendly staff offer a great experience for a family outing. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved how this little train was running when the others weren't. It was my wife's first time on a steam train and seeing the lake around Llanberis. Couldn't have been a better time to visit and take in the views. Brilliant staff, conductor came around and talked to you, everyone so friendly, everything was great

A great attraction for children and adults. The train makes stops at several stations. You can stop at a museum along the way and return on a later train.

Such Great place. Good for all ages. We parked in the slat mine car park for £4.70 that was only option. The train to the town have every hour slot and then back along the side of the lake for £25 per 6 people . We wasn’t so lucky to have a sunny day but still was enjoyable journey. All the facilities, clean and tidy with all COVID guidelines.Extremely recommend .

Amazing view on a sunny day, Snowdon even has snow on it. The scenery is incredible, felt like in Switzerland. The conductor and guard are extremely friendly and nice, even hoped us took some great pictures of Snowdon, a great experience highly recommend!

Got lucky by buying a ticket on arrival but strongly recommended you prebook as it is popular.
Excellent access for wheelchair users with a ramp onto the train if required.
Stunning views of the lake and a round trip takes about an hour.
Small but functional cafe serving teas, coffees and snacks but not main meals.
Gift shop too.
Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff.
Parking is free for disabled.
Take note that toilets for the whole site including the Slate Museum.are situated in the centre of the car park. There are no toilets at the station.

This really is a grand little day out. The staff are freindly. There is a nice cafe and a shop. The rise takes tou alomg side the lake and gives yoi fantastic veiws. It'll take a hour or so to do.

There are three atractions around here to fill up the day.
Snowdonia, the slate mine museum and this great little train ride.

This great little run will take you some outstanding view. It children freindly has a nice little cafe and good parking. Park in one place and stay there for the day.
You can walk to Snowdonia base camp and the slate mine museum from here. At Snowdonia get another train to the top of the mountain.
At the slate mine take as lomg as you like to explore its free.

This entire expidition will not be cheap. Parking alone can be £10 , then there is the train ride cost and the cost to ho up snowdonia or the eir train. it will fill at least one day if not two. Good fun grand views enjoy.

An interesting little heritage railway run by real enthusiasts.
At the moment tickets purchases are for a compartment that will at a push seat 6 for the short run up and down the lake.
You can get right up close to the steam engines and all kids there seemed to love it

Absolutely great little experience. The price you pay is for a whole carriage that hold up to 6 although that would be a squeeze. Also dog friendly. The trip takes roughly an hour goes to two different stops and takes a scenic route along the lake. You can also walk along the track. There is a cafe, toilets and a small souvenir shop at the station

Lovely little railway with superb views over the lake to Snowdon. The miniature locomotives are beautifully maintained and the staff clearly committed to giving visitors a great trip. Didn't have to book tickets in advance in April but likely to be busier in summer.

Loved the train ride - great price and stops twice on the way back. Trains are very well maintained and there are picnic areas to stop at with the amazing views next to the lake and can catch the next train. No rush to get back too and can take your time and enjoy.
The slate mine museum is one of the stops on the way back and is very informative and best of all is free. Plenty of ice cream opportunities too for the big and little kids 😁.

Very well organised, clean, reasonable prices, excellent service. Nice clean cafe and well stocked shop.
Really well looked after locos and stock.
They need all the people they can get now as coal prices have gone through the roof.....up to £1000 a ton!
Glad to give them our support.
Fantastic place right in the heart af Snowdonia
