YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass

Lovely scenic views and very very wet.
We used this bus drop area on our way back to the rangers trail up to Snowdon peek. The toilets were clean and pleasant with hot running water. A nice little visitor center to look in while waiting for the bus.

Great location and amenities. Drying room is great. The staff are very helpful and have good knowledge, and it was fun hanging out with other guests and playing Scrabble.
Kitchen could do with an external extraction fan and it got very hot in there. There was enough room in the fridges and on shelves for food storage. Will hopefully be back again.

Great location, amazing service, very friendly staff, delicious food, comfortable bed and room. Highly recommend the hostel if you would like to hike to Snowdon or just exploring the North wales. It’s very pretty.

Stayed here to climb Mount Snowdon, incredible place, staff are simply excellent and doesn’t deserve the word hostel, way better than that, food great, comfy bed, fantastic stay for purposes in hand for a great start to any Welsh hills adventure!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

You just can’t beat this location. The foothill of Mnt Snowdon! We woke up to a glorious snowy Mountain View from our window. Just make sure to book the adjacent car park in advance to avoid potential issues.

Great place in a stunning location. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's very clean and facilities are all you could need. Very cheap too considering the location.

YHA is hands down the best location for people planning to hike the Snowdown summit. The Miner's track, Pyg track and Crib Goche route begins right at the foot of this place. There's enough parking space and all kinds of rooms. Being a backpacker, I loved my stay here. I was here for two nights and stayed in a dorm room. The bunk beds had individual bed lights and plug points which made it very convenient for me who like to have the phone near my bed at night :p. Only bad side was my snoring roommate who kept me up at night.
The staff were very friendly and the check in procedure was straightforward. The common toilet and bathrooms are the cleanest I have seen in a hostel and there's a pool table in the commom area too. The Bar and the restaurant offers good food as well. Well recommended!!!

PS: The bus stop is right in front of the stay and connects to Betws-y-Coed and Caernarfon. This was a plus since I used public transport to get here.

Ideal location with access to trails straight up to Snowdon and many trails right behind them. Perfect location to be able to hop on the trail right away.

We (me & my partner) had a fantastic stay at YHA last Saturday and Sunday night.

Amazing staff, comfy beds and good food. Well stocked bar and ice cream freezer. ☺

Staff went above and beyond, even helping me get my wash on. The drying room was great and my clothes were dry by the following morning.

Honestly could not fault the YHA and it was perfect for exploring Snowdon.

Thank you to the staff and people who keep YHAs going to offer so many opportunities to all. Would recommend staying here to everyone!

Very impressed, this is the first time we have used YHA, and all of us in the group (11 adults) said we would use them again. Very easy to book, clearly laid out site showing what is available, facilities, menu, photos etc. We booked at Snowdon, excellent location, clean rooms, showers and toilets etc. The staff provided stellar customer service, helping with booking in, parking and all our questions, plus serving us and a host of other patrons. Overall, excellent value for what you get and have access to, definitely made the start of our Welsh 3 Peaks easy and pleasantly memorable. Highly recommended.

We stayed in a shared room of 6 ladies and was superb if you fancy a weekend with mates at low cost. We had gone as a group of friends to do up Miners track and down Llanberis Path. The great thing was they have a dry room where you can hang your dry kit and collect when dry for free.The showers were very nice and hot. Very clean ad well as the toilets. I thought it would be congested but not once. They have a large kitchen with utensils, large fridge freezers, plenty of hobs, ovens, and kettles.I highly recommend it.

This is my 3rd time staying here with a large hiking group of 55 people and its that good we're coming again in July! It's an ideal place to climb Snowdon and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good quality and all the staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Wifi is good in hostel also.... I recommend this hostel

Stunning views, great staff and experience.

I would like to make a special mention to Nathan, the hostel manager. He has gone above and beyond to help my group out with our parking situation.

We didn't manage to secure parking at the adjacent park and display (must book in advance and 40 quid) so he guided us to a nearby park and ride which is way cheaper and offered us a lift back in the middle of a rainy night after a long shift. This is true commitment to excellent customer care and service.

Not all heroes wear caps, this guy deserves a raise 👍

Great place to stay for walks on Snowden and surrounding areas. YHA parking is limited be aware other carpark is expensive

Such a perfect location when your planning to visit the snowdon. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. They make our stay as relax and comfortable as possible. My favorite part is having my breakfast with such a beautiful view of the snowdonia mountain. Would definitely recommend this place.

Would be great to plan ahead before going as parking near the trail should be pre-booked to get a slot. If not, there is a paid parking 3 miles away where a bus service runs frequently. Last bus from Pen-Y-Pass to the other car park is at 19:30. Good hike which lasts about 5hours depending on the number of stops you take and the speed.
