Jesse James Bunkhouse

Jesse is a very nice man and the place he has is great for going climbing snowdon. He knows a lot about the place and the mountains and can give very good advices. We met him a couple of weeks ago and we did everything he told us to do, and we couldnt have done better!! I hope we meet him again, he is a great person and with a very juvenile energy! If you can stay at his place dont doubt it! You wont regret it. He has a different rooms with different styles, so you can chose what you want, all with different dining areas and kitchen.

I’ve been coming here for 35 years. Jesse James and his bunkhouse have more character than his American namesake.

The Bunk house has been made by him over the years which is quirky, practical and simplistic but a very effective place with everything you could possibly want.

Jesse has a wealth of knowledge regarding North Wales and Snowdonia to share with the respectful visitor having spent most of his life in and around the National Park. There is no where and nothing he can't advise upon from first hand knowledge, from sea level sightseeing to climbing some of the most challenging rock faces in Wales and everything inbetween.

He will give you a very warm fatherly welcome to his accommodation and if he really likes you, he may bring out his legendary prize winning flapjack or recite some of his wealth of fantastic stories and experiences.

A lovely place and a fantastic man who provides excellent value for money accommodation and customer service.

Jesse was extremely accomodating and warm welcoming. It was lovely to hear his mountaineering stories after our day out on the mountain. He's like the mountaineering version of David Attenborough 😊 would highly recommend the bunkhouse, a great location too!

Fantastic place to stay. Great location and ideal for climbing and hiking in Snowdonia. Full of atmosphere and not like any other bunkhouse I have stayed at. Has all the facilities you will need and you will be made to feel very at home whether staying for a day, a week or more. I've stayed there many times and will stay there many more.

Nice accommodation. Used our own sleeping bags but blankets provided. Jesse is a really cool guy and very friendly. Left us flapjack in the morning and provided everything outdoorsy people need.

Would 100% recommend this place. Jesse and his wife are an incredibly welcoming and friendly couple. The bunk house itself has everything you need, is very clean and full of character. I will definitely be staying there again.

A slightly overdue review but I stayed at the Bunkhouse with a group of friends earlier in the year and had a great time. The bunkhouse is rustic, has a lovely atmosphere and is down to earth just like the surrounding area. The hosts were friendly, made us feel very welcome and had some great stories and expertise to offer us. I'd stay again and very much enjoyed my trip! Thank you Jesse!

Love it ! It makes me feel like a boy scout staying here . It's cheap and cheerful and basic but so full of character . Jesse has climbed most of the area with his wife and is a wealth of knowledge on the area. If you want budget digs and warm welcome you won't go wrong with this place. This is a bunk house not the Ritz so you get what's written on the tin 😀😀😀😀 and I for one will be back again

It's spartan, but by design. Jesse runs a place with atmosphere and history. Bring your own sleeping bag - but it is a bunkhouse after all! Staying here is recommended!

Wonderful people , wealth of hospitality and amazing stories and knowledge of local climbing and beyond .
Always enjoy staying in this fantastic place and cannot Recommend enough .

Perfect for students and outdoor enthusiasts, the bunkhouse has everything you’d need and great location, we reached the peak of Snowdon and also visited the Isle of Anglesey which has many beautiful sandy beaches, Jesse and his wife Maggie are very welcoming and made our experience so much more enjoyable!

Great bunkhouse. Loads of room with everything you could want for a price less than most campsites. Make sure you share a beer with Jes; he's got some cracking stories.

Last minute trip and the 4 of us enjoyed our stay here.

I stayed here in 1975 when I went on a weeks holiday with Leyton County High School for girls. It was brilliant! I'm amazed that it's still going strong so they must be doing something right to last all these years

Back again ! You always get a warm welcome here it's a time machine back to the seventies . It's cheap as chips and a lot of fun to stay here and certainly beats camping .

Very honest and practical full accomodation, plus good for self-catering too.
