We recently celebrated our wedding breakfast and reception at the Railway Inn, and it exceeded all our expectations. We can’t thank Alice and the team enough, our day was nothing short of perfect.

The staff, with their friendly and accommodating approach, made us feel right at home. They seamlessly managed every aspect of our event, from setting up the venue to ensuring a smooth flow throughout the evening. This included managing our suppliers like the florist, Photo Booth and band for evening entertainment.

Now, let's talk about the food - an absolute highlight! Unlike with normal wedding venues, our guests could choose what they wanted from a small menu which we created alongside the chef. Our guests are still raving about the delicious food now! The evening food was also a hit, but we were too full from dinner and busy socialising to eat any ourselves.

If you're considering the Railway Inn for your wedding venue, rest assured, you're in capable hands with Alice. We are immensely grateful for the incredible experience that will forever be etched in our hearts. Thank you, the Railway Inn, for making our wedding day truly magical.

Had lunch in my birthday a Monday. Very quiet a little cold(the building), lovely staff, The quality of the food is much better than other ordinary pubs. I even got a candle with my dessert. The design of the place is a mix of modern and old. Really liked the atmosphere. Will definetly come again.

Lovely pub with a nice friendly atmosphere. We booked easily online and had a lovely table ready for us when we arrived. The staff were welcoming and prompt with service. The menu wasn't too busy and had a good varied selection. The kids menu was basic with all the normal favs for kids so they were happy. The food was delicious and we cleared our plates and it was enough. The kids ice cream was on the small side and they finished it with one spoonful. A lovely meal and we'll definitely be back!

We had a lovely Sunday Roast here celebrating Mothering Sunday. Plenty of staff on to deal with the busy day which certainly helped to keep it running smoothly and the wait times down!

The food was delicious, we all had the Roast Beef and each and everyone one of ours was cooked to perfection!

My only slight negative was the chocolate brownie wasn’t as Chocolate-y as I was expecting, more cake consistency then gooey brownie but that’s probably me just being an over-critical brownie connoisseur! It was still delicious and we all left with plates wipes clean!

We will certainly be back that’s for sure!

Was looking last minute for a Sunday roast lunch spot near Southampton that looked good, and chanced upon the Railway Inn that had a couple of early lunch spots left. Really so happy with our lunch, the place was packed and obviously popular. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The roast lunch was ace. We had pork, lamb and beef options on our table - all really enjoyed. Veg was varied and interesting - carrot and swede mash, roast parsnip, kale, red cabbage. We ordered a couple of side dishes of Cheesy Leeks and Sprouts with Bacon for the table. Apparently the first time on the menu because they couldn’t get any cauliflower. Absolutely amazing and a brilliant addition to the roast. I was impressed with the quality of the roast dinner given the amount of people they were serving. Would absolutely come back again.

We enjoyed an evening meal. The food was freshly made (hubby always knows if a burger is freshly made when they can accommodate his request for medium rare!) My Satay chicken burger was the best I've ever had. When we left my husband forgot to pick up his mobile phone which also had all his bank cards ..we only noticed some hours later and called the pub...they had found it and put it in their safe.. so obviously we were also very grateful for their vigilance. We will definitely return to sample their menu choices.

Had a lovely visit on a rainy Friday lunchtime. It’s always so cosy at the Railway and we enjoy the decor and atmosphere. The menu is always interesting and well thought out. On this occasion we ordered from the lunch menu, and were very pleased with the options available. The price, portion and quality of the food was excellent value for money. It was all delicious. There was a wide offering of draft lagers and ales. The staff were friendly and attentive as always and made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back. Thank you.

We stayed in a holiday flat in the region and passed by several times on our excursions. We booked a table for the last evening. One of the best local places we visited during the week. Super relaxed and friendly service, plus a good selection of food. Everything was served very appetisingly and was really tasty. If we lived nearby, we would visit more often.

The food is top notch every time at The Railway. Homely family run pub that has a good friendly village pub vibe.
Great menu choices and a frequently updated specials board.
The staff really go above a beyond to make the experience perfect.
I was dining with vegan guests and Alice recommended various options and made our guests feel very welcome about their dietary requirements.

We met family here for Sunday lunch and were extremely impressed with the food. We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived as the pub is located on the roadside and didn’t look especially exciting from the outside but once inside the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the Sunday lunch menu was excellent with fabulous roast dinners and I chose gammon steak which was exceptional. Quite the best gammon steak I have ever tasted. I would give it 5 plus stars!! The dessert menu was great the cheese cake was to die for. Would highly recommend.

Went here for lunch, so glad we did! I had the gammon which was absolutely perfect, the chips were delicious, eggs cooked just right, I'd say it was the best meal I've had in a long while.the wife had the brie and bacon sandwich which she thoroughly enjoyed, we shared the halloumi sticks, which were delicious. All in all an absolutely brilliant meal. The staff were very friendly, with great service, would go again and would highly recommend others to go to.

One of our favourite pubs in the area. Lovely atmosphere, warm and cosy. Dog friendly. I have had a beef burger of some kind 3 times in the past and wow ... it doesn't get much better. Bit pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for! They have a burger deal on a Tuesday, which helps soften the blow. They have a car park, but come the evening, it is often full, so if travelling without the car or car sharing is an option, take it.

Nicely presented with outside seating area and great quality food. Thai Green curry was a bit too hot for me personally.

Good choice on menu food was delicious. The young lady who looked after us was excellent and no problem ordering a child's meal for my daf who is 89! Lovely pub will go back soon.
