Staff are really friendly and efficient. Lovely atmosphere. Great for families. Didn't eat or stay in rooms, but met friends socially for drinks and was not disappointed. Thanks to the Bar Manager lady and her staff. 👍🥂🍻😁

Had a lovely meal here with friends. Had the Mediterranean salad with chicken which was very fresh and delicious.
Service was friendly and very attentive.
Raspberry ice cream is highly recommended.
Convenient car park just across the road.

A very authentic and cozy place :) the employees are nice, but a bit hard to reach. We probably came in a very busy time. The room was lovely and it felt like being in a 1700s movie. If you accept that the floors are creaking and the bed is not level, then you will have an amazing time :) The atmosphere was excellent and dinner was great! They even have live music and sports.

We got married locally and wanted a nice place for our mini honeymoon and this place was perfect!
We booked the suite and were incredibly happy with it!
Beautiful old building but with all the modern things you would expect such as coffee machine, TV, air-conditioner and modern bathroom in a traditional style.

The room was clean and comfortable and a very comfortable 4 poster bed.

The bar and restaurant downstairs we found to be lovely when we went down to our fantastic cooked breakfast with lots of options.
And later for dinner we were equally happy with the menu and the food.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left all of the staff were friendly, professional and helpful.

It is a fantastic place to stay that exceeded expectations and was made even better by such fantastic staff!

Popped in for a meal with family. A varied well thought through menu, the food was lush and reasonably priced. It's a pretty pub with loads of character. It is really popular and very busy when we went I would advise booking a table. Will be back next time I'm in the area.

Made to feel welcome immediately.
Gina booked us in & out and was lovely throughout our stay.
Ambience of the bar/restaurant is great. Very traditional with oak beams & pillars. Very clean, very smart & cosy.
Staff were nice, quiet, polite & respectful.
Parking problem?
Nah!! No way!
Big car park over the road with a BIG sign saying Crown Inn Car Park.🥴
The whole feel of this place is lovely & we would stay here again without doubt.

We selected the Crown Inn for our vacation so we could experience staying in a local country inn. It exceeded our expectations in every way. First, the staff were extremely nice and welcoming, and ran the place like it was a family business. By spending a little time in the pub, we met many of the local inhabitants and really enjoyed their company. We got more that we bargained for when we found out that the Crown Inn was the place where Admiral Villaneuve was "imprisoned" after his defeat at the Battle of Trafalgar. And I must say that the food was the very best that we enjoyed in our week-long vacation in England. I will highly recommend the Crown Inn to anyone visiting the Portsmouth area.

It's a Fullers' pub/inn...therefore some of the best 'real' ales in Britain. Expensive...yes, worth the money... yes.

A great venue for friends, families and singles.

UPDATE: Having FINALLY got rid of one of the worst managers I've ever experienced, I thought things would improve? But today I ordered a pint of Neck Oil bitter and was charged...

£6.95!!! Yes, you read that right, SIX POUNDS, NINTY FIVE for a beer that less than 4 miles away I can buy for £5.40...that's a saving of £1.55 per pint!!!

Not a happy bunny, as they no longer serve their flagship, bottle conditioned, real ales. On the bright side we no longer have the worst manager in the world.

Would probably still recommend.

We hadn't intended to visit here but the place we wanted wasn't serving food. I'm so glad they weren't! This place is lovely!
The staff were very thorough about my food intolerances, which is fantastic! And the food, mine was haddock and chips, was delicious! The fish was melt in the mouth. So good! My only "complaint" is that the desserts also looked really good but my meal was so tasty, I ate until I was full.
Beautiful venue, too.

Couldn't of been any nicer. We recently popped in for some lunch with our young child. From start to finish excellent service. Food was great, lovely cosy seats in the corner. Couldn't be helpful enough, offering highchair for child which we kindly declined (child likes to think hes an adult) to then be offered a cushion to prop him up with. The lady serving was delightfully kind and thoughtful. great pub, great food, great service. Will definitely return.
