What a lovely hotel. The staff looked after me brilliantly when I arrived off the hill a bit too cold; they were warm and welcoming and sorted me out with a cup of tea and probably the best cake in North Wales. Highly recommended

Great little find for a lovely soup and a roll for lunch, the roll was full of a generous serving of gorgeous pork enjoyed by the open fire, in an amazing setting, the staff were really attentive and friendly too. Compliments to the chef, can’t wait to head back and try some more of the menu.

What a magical place! The atmosphere is truly something else.

The team is young, professional and extremely friendly. The kitchen is extraordinary (5*). And the rooms are clean and authentic.
We especially enjoyed the sauna in the backyard after our walks and a swim in the clear lake with this impressive mountain view.

We stayed here for a family reunion (a group of 20!) and no matter the chaos the team was so caring making sure everyone was fed taken care of. We created many new memories during our stay at the Pen-y-Gwryd-Hotel. Thank you!

If you love the romance of Everest, then this is a Bucket List item.
You Do feel you’ve gone back to the 50’s, lots of memorabilia, and the room with Hilary’s signature on the roof am sure looked like it looked 70 years ago.

Without fear or favour the best hotel we have ever stayed in! Beautiful building filled with history and character matched only by the warmth and welcoming owner and staff.

I had the most wonderful stay in an enchanting hotel full of history and character. After hard days on the mountain look forward to hearty food and tails in the smoking room. This is a national treasure - prepare to fall in love!

Amazing old school hotel. Everything is very British and traditional, but very pleasant and enjoyable. Very clean and functional although not luxurious. Felt like we had travelled back in time once entering and we loved every minute of our stay. Come prepared for something different and you will enjoy it too. The food was amazing, staff very accomodating.

I've stayed many times over the years and have never been disappointed, it remains unchanged in an ever changing world. Service, Professionalism, Quality are the hallmarks that make this a great place to stay.

What a place! If you want a walking weekend away from all mod cons this is the place, surrounded by dramatic mountains and breath taking views this little gem is perfect, take a step back into history with all the artifacts from Edmund Hillary's quests to Everest. Staff are so so helpful and polite and excellent food prepared by the new chef. Definitely going back!!!

A simply splendid weekend, at the Classic mountain retreat that is the PYG. Fowl weather makes retreating into the cosy lounges for a well deserved pint all the more comforting. The owners and staff faultlessly helpful and welcoming, and the three course dinner (5 was tempting but too much for me) delicious. Put away your phone, go scout some blustery peaks and enjoy this old school gem. Great.

The Pen Y Gwryd was a home away from home for a walking weekend I planned with 8 other people. The service was so friendly, the food was great and the rooms were perfect. The walks nearby are epic and the natural beauty of the area is breathtaking. Will be back for sure.

Food great, character good, lovely atmosphere created by communal food times, really hard working staff but...... Bed was super soft (room 1), real ale was less than desirable,

Definitely going to stay again.

This place is perfect for the location. I arrived with my friends, late at night, completely soaked after heavy rain. We were meant to camp but everything was drenched. They quickly took care of us, putting us in a special room as they were otherwise fully booked. Super friendly people and a place with nice history. Friendly staff and and a well run place brings the best customers - everyone else staying at the hotel seemed very nice. Highly recommend staying here on your trip to snowdonia!

Step back in time to a beautifully located hotel with a lot of history. This is a place for those that love the outdoors. Great location, very cosy, super food and full of interesting people. This is not the place for a pamper weekend, you will either love it or hate it. Those that love it come back time and time again

Last minute stay for a day on Snowdon. The bar, kitchen and waiting staff really went the extra mile to ensure that, while we arrived late and started the next day early, we were fed, watered and provided with a packed lunch. They really care about their customers, taking time to talk about our plans.
The Victorian bathroom was amazing. the original shower was more like a waterfall. Perefect start to a day on the mountain. Thank you.

What a fabulous escape from the grind of modernity. Everything is beautifully presented and runs like a machine. Fab food, but don’t be late for dinner!
