Location couldn't be better able to park car and short walk into Lichfield. Young lady on Reception was lovely and helpful. Wedding on in the evening but did not disturb us.
Room was spacious and clean, very comfortable and had a bath as well as shower. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if in the area.

Good old times hotel with charm and soul. Some equipment is worn, but it is part of it! Great staff, good breakfast, easy parking.

Quaint hotel with cozy old English charm. Their pub is nicely well lit, but still has cozy ambiance. Even the stairs have that old English establishment feel, sort of twisty, winding and creaky - opposite to modern hotels where floors are blandly flat, lacking character and twists. Overall really neat charm, just 5 minutes walk to the Lichfield Cathedral, and maybe a 10 minute walk to the city shopping district (be sure and go there too, so many wonderful little shops both old and modern). The hotel staff are very kind, courteous and look after their patrons very well. The hotel breakfast is excellent, much better than maybe any other where I have stayed - mushrooms, tomatoes, English bacon (sort of baked American ham) fried eggs, plus much more. If you’re in area and looking for a hotel, consider staying here.

The city itself has numerous historical buildings dating back to the 1500s, plus the house owned my Charles Darwin’s grandfather (a doctor), and of course the Cathedral with over 1300 years of history. A great old English city steeped in history.

Had my wedding here on the 16th of September, staff were excellent and looked after myself and Husband very well! We had a Fork buffet and desert buffet, which reached above and beyond our expectations. The food was delicious and had many compliments and enough for gusts to go up for seconds! We had a live band (my husbands dad's band) and a dj that the hotel organised for us that was excellent too, We stayed over night in the most beautiful room with pettles on the bed and towels folded into swans. Complimentary breakfast in the morning, too, was also delicious and much needed after a night of heavy drinking and dancing 😆
Overall, we had an excellent time and the most perfect wedding day. Reasonable priced and would highly recommend as a venu!
Thank you from Mr & Mrs Baxter ❤

Wow what can I say, this is an amazing hotel to have your wedding. Nothing is to much for lou and her team, Peter went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for my day. What I can't understand is why is this only a 3 star hotel, this doesn't do it justice. Definitely a 4 star in my opinion and my guests think the same too. The buffet was amazing, never have I had such fantastic food from a buffet before. I would highly recommend booking this hotel for any occasion. The beds are lovely and comfortable we had no complaints from our guests, they all had a good sleep even knowing it was hot.

Staff were delightful. Room was immaculate, showers were lovely, hot with excellent water pressure. You can tell the staff work hard to keep the rooms clean and it's evident. Excellent value for money. Breakfast was lovely. Really enjoyed my stay.

Nice hotel fairly close to the centre of town. The room was a little worn but everything worked great. Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was on the main road side and there was a bit of car noise. They have their own car park. Also really great cookies!

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Room was very good with a very comfy bed. Only negative was that we had whisky and coffee in the evening, the whisky was great but coffee was awful. Coffee at breakfast was slightly better, tea was good.

Some of the decor a bit dated, felt like I was in the shining.
The shower is rather powerful which was great though feel it had anger issues and had been dating the floor and fell out.
Staff were very friendly. Barry turned a blind eye to me stealing coco pops in the middle of the night cos I was starving.
Lassie had ocd issues with the crisps layout.
Bed was comfy n slept like a baby.
Would stay again if I am in Lichfield again.
5 minutes walk to pubs
Breakfast was excellent.
